Alex

Hell, in the district of Demons. The district with the Demons of Hell resided not too far away from the fields of punishment. The district of Demons had houses that were mostly destroyed. A single Demon sat between two other taller demons. He had two swords on his lap as he lazily watched the fight happening in the middle of the district. Two Demons were locked in combat with each other, yelling, shouting and screaming as loudly as they could. The Demon with two swords had long white hair and eyes the colour of dirty snow. He wore a black sweater and black shorts. black was probably the only colour Demons wore, much like how white was the only colour Angels wore. The fighting went on until one Demon became victorious by killing the other. It was a stupid game the Demons had come up with. It was a fight to the death, in a one-on-one scenario. The winner would stay in while the loser would get revived on their bed. Demons could not die unless struck by a weapon of light. So a Demon, when killed, would return to their bed in perfect health. It was a similar logic to Angels as Angels could not die unless struck by a weapon of pure darkness. When the match was finished, the white-haired Demon was shoved forward. He sighed not particularly caring anymore. "Ah, the Angel," The victorious Demon scowled. The white-haired Demon got jeered. He stared at the ground, not making eye contact with the victorious Demon. He sighed, telling the victorious Demon, "Let's get this over with." "Missing Heaven?" The Demon taunted. "Scared of a couple of Demons? Why? Too pansy to fight back?" The victorious Demon extended his arms to address the crowd. "Heaven has this fag being an Angel? What kind of joke is this? We, in Hell, are stronger! The Angels dare not invade Hell because they could never win!" When the victorious Demon finished talking, he faced down to find a sword in his neck. The white-haired Demon slowly pulled the sword out, telling him, "I literally don't care." The Demon collapsed to the ground, the body disappearing. He stood around, just waiting for the next Demon to approach. He hated the game because it would last too long for every Demon to get a turn. And besides, every single person gathered around the centre of the district wanted to kill him. "That was a fluke!" Shouted the Demon who had just been killed. He had run back to the centre of the district after reviving. The white-haired Demon simply sighed and faced him, saying, "I thought anything goes?" "f**k you!" He cursed, picking up his sickle. The white-haired demon sighed, saying to him, "I know Demons have an insane s*x drive, but please tone it down." He rushed the white-haired Demon. The white-haired Demon ducked under the attack completely before sticking out a leg to trip him up. The Demon got back up with a grin. "But remember the agreement, yes? Any one of us that defeats you gets to sleep with you!" "And be taken to Heaven!" Another one yelled. The Demons cheered in unison. The white-haired demon was male, but his features were soft and pretty. He frowned, telling the Demon, "I have never agreed to anything like that." "Don't care!" The Demon tried raising his sickle again, but the white-haired Demon vanished, appearing behind the Demon. The Demon turned around, his head sliding off soon after. The white-haired Demon then faced the next Demon in line, this time, a female Demon. She got cheers from the crowd. "I want you to take me to Heaven," She demanded. He was unimpressed. "If you do this, we can annihilate the Angels," She insisted. "We know you can do so." "Heaven itself will disintegrate you," The white-haired Demon stated. "Don't be such a bore, Alex. I-" She was instantly slashed in half. The white-haired Demon was called Alex, a name most knew but few spoke. He glanced over at the closest person, staring that Demon directly in the eyes. The Demon screamed and fell backwards, clutching his head as he attempted to get away from Alex. After being promoted to either an Angel or Demon, an ability was granted. When Alex finished battling over fifteen Demons, he simply left the centre of the district with his swords in hand. His swords were the normal swords Demons used. He used to wield similar weapons of light when he was in Heaven, but he lost access to them after falling to Hell. He entered his house. Probably the only rule Demons had to follow regardless of what they wanted: You cannot enter another Demon's residence without permission. Alex sat on his bed, the Demons continuing the game after he left. Some had left to collect the souls of the rampant, others went to the fields of punishment to torture the Condemned. There were a lot more Demons than there were Angels. Much like how Angels had their wings, a typical Demon had wings of their own. Leather wings gave Demons the ability to fly. They also had a tail that could be concealed beneath their clothes. Their tails acted as the key between the Living World and Hell, much like the Halos of the Angels. Alex was seated on his bed, his eyes closed. He tried to sense if there were any rampant souls running around in the Living World. Instead of finding a rampant soul, he found a rampant human. A human that was supposed to be dead was roaming the streets of the Living World. Alex was initially unsure, but after observing the human, he noticed the rotten parts of his body. It was something most other Demons would have missed. A soul had escaped, and it managed to last until the full moon reached its peak. But how? Alex thought about it, but could only come up with a single theory. Perhaps someone hid that soul? Maybe a Demon? But most of the Demons he had seen were much too rash to consider scheming. An Angel? Angels followed protocol seriously, but they were only responsible for the souls that were willing, not the runaway souls. Though, there was one Angel who had intentionally let a Spirit run away recently. Alex thought it through some more. It did not seem like the other Demons were too keen on hunting down a walking dead person. He sighed, opening his eyes once again and getting off of his bed. The gemstone was hidden beneath his sweater. He appeared in the human world, standing not too far away from the human. There was a slight issue. The Angel was also there, staring directly at him.
