Running Away

Aurora pOV

I've recently found out that Robert is using my blood to create powerful creatures to serve as his army so that he can destroy the government and I can't let him succeed.

I feel disgusted, before sending his men to war, he infuses their blood with mine so in case they die, they will wake up and the longer I stay, he will keep doing it. That's why I have to leave.

I found out about my true identity and now, I'm at the royal coven. Most of them are nice to me and very respectful.

We are ready to leave for the city when Silas says he needs to show me something.

" Now? But we are already ready to leave," Jasper complains. I agree with him but my vampire guardian insists. I sigh and follow him.

He takes me to a part of the castle I'm unfamiliar with, its like a tunnel with little or no light,

" Where are we going?" I whisper, gripping his hand tighter.

"it's time you meet him," I have so many questions but I don't ask.

We stop in front of a huge golden door. Silas tells me to place my hand on a scanner, and it opens.

I walk in, cautiously. The room is bright and doesn't have anything, why did Silas bring me here... oh no, I close my eyes and open them again, It's impossible, in a corner lies something I didn't know existed in this lifetime.

I gap not finding the words

" ho...... how?....a d d dragon?" I stutter, Silas keeps smiling at me, I should be running but I'm moving towards it. I slowly raise my hand to touch its scales gently, sliding my fingers against its shiny scales, but it doesn't wake up, I look to Silas once more

"It's been asleep for ten years now," he tells me " he slept the day your mother died, waiting for another royal to wake him, " Silas informs me. I continue to touch it, the Dragon looks so big, I feel like a child standing beside it

I touch its snout, and the room immediately shines bright, its eyes light up blue and red mixing in sync, it's like going in his head, I see him standing beside my mother, a dragon that can turn into a man and controls fires just like my little brother.

"Aklyis," I breathe

Silas nods with a smile

"looks like you're not strong enough to wake him yet, you have to realize your power when that happens he will wake," he explains, I feel so strongly towards Aklyis.

"He's lived for generations, when a royal dies, he sleeps until he's awakened by another," He explains. All this is surreal, I didn't even know Dragons exist, and it's enormous taking half of this huge room

" You're the only one who can command it, without a royal it can be dangerous not even his human part can control it," I smile as I rest my forehead his.

We meet Jasper in the garage, he smiles " Great! can we leave now?" I nod and we go to the city.

We finally arrive at the famous club in the city that Jasper wouldn't shut up about, the club is beautiful and different lights over us, young adults are already drunk and dancing to the loud music. We head straight to the bar, drinking as much as we can before I drag them to the dance floor. I'm dancing and having so much fun.

As I dance my eyes look up the top part, it's a VIP lounge, the glass enables me to see what's happening up there, It's a different kind of vibe in there with only a few people unlike here. The DJ plays different songs and the world doesn't exist for me right now, I keep moving my hips, and body.

My eyes suddenly look up to the private area feeling eyes on me, I see a man staring at me, very imposing, his fingers trailing against the rails on the glass, maybe am drunk or hallucinating right now, he's very handsome, with sculptured Greek features. I shake my head, looking away. I look up once more, indeed, his intense gaze is still on me, analyzing and watching my movements with interest, his look is cold and my wolf is saying something but I can’t hear, she’s so weak. The song changes to a sensual one now, and I move to the beat, I can feel the man's intense gaze still on me, starting a war within me.

I left my eyes to him, he's about 6’3 ft with a lean muscular body and a nice beard just how I like it, his eyes are dark grey, and I swear they shine for a while there, my heart pounding against my chest.

His scrutinizing gaze on me makes me tremble but I don't stop dancing, surprised my legs haven't given up yet. I tilt my neck, and he follows with a small smirk playing on his lips.

Suddenly people start to cough and the smell of gas and wolfsbane overwhelms my senses. breaks out. Silas grabs my hand and takes me outside.

Two days later am back at the base, my heart aches because I didn't see the Greek god after we left the club. There was something about him that made my heart stir in delight. I can’t get him out of my head.

Aurora focus and get him out of your head, I scold myself, all that should matter to me is Jeremy, my cousins, and the coven but damn, I can't get him out of my head. He started a fire that I can't seem to extinguish.

His icy stare is all I think about, even up to now, I can feel the hurt on my body.

I talked to Silas yesterday, he managed to get my brother from boarding school and relocated him to Los Angeles. I'm thankful for that.

In the afternoon, Raphael and I leave the base to go out for lunch in a nearby town. Our food gets here but I don't have an appetite right now. I keep watching humans walk by, their life is so simple and innocent, unlike mine.

Robert sends us a location of the new target, I only check my phone and ignore it.

" Hey, you've been acting different lately,"

“Have you ever thought about why Robert is obsessed with keeping me at the organization? All those tests, my blood,” Raphael pushes his plate away and looks into my eyes. l

“ It must be for something important, don't question him, and just do as told, okay, baby doll?" He says seriously. This guy is just too loyal, I wonder what lies they feed him or he's just dumb? but no, he is the best agent there is and one of Robert's valuable assets, he wouldn't have picked him if he was a dummy, I sigh letting it go.

“Whatever I was just curious, forget I asked,"

" Have you talked to Orion?" He asks, Orion is my boyfriend, he is a vampire and we worked with him, but he wasn't a full member at the base so when he left, no serious search was conducted.

" No," I keep my answer short, we were supposed to leave together but I backed out, I was scared for Jeremy and family but I'm not scared anymore.

I get up suddenly and wrap my arms around his shoulders.

“ Always take care, okay,”

He squints his eyes in confusion and I point to my phone, " I should get going now, I need to prepare for my assignment," I smile, getting my helmet from the floor.

An hour later, I'm in Robert's office, tapping my finger's against his desk as I wait to get the passcode to the laboratory, I need to burn all the blood they got so that they shouldn't make more monster soldiers.

I grab the password after hacking into his account and leave. I go straight to the lab, I enter the seven digits and the door automatically opens.

I cover my nose as strong chemicals hit my nose with my hand.

His projects are in glass capsules, they are so many! I hit the red button and they open. Their bodies look very white and most of them are bruised.

I get the big bottle of alcohol I came in with, taking a sip before pouring the rest around the room, I get a firelighter from my pocket and set the room ablaze. I hear heavy footsteps upstairs and in the rush out.

The men I meet on the way don't get even notice me others just nod.

I take the elevator upstairs and climb the ladder that leads me right outside the underground in the back, there is security around the perimeter but everyone knows I am Robert's favorite so they let me pass, I go to the garage to get a car and drive at full speed, hopefully, I'll be gone before they realize I'm the one who did this.

I'm almost approaching Crescent stone city. I laugh to myself, Robert must be so mad right now, I remember once his scientists were trying something new, seeing how well their new medicine worked on a hybrid, they tried it on me without asking him first, and almost killed me. He killed the three scientists for endangering his perfect weapon maker, I thought he cared for me but now I know without me, he couldn't create his strong breed monsters. They are strong, not as strong as vampires or werewolves but their need for blood is too much hence, putting humans in danger once they are released but I burnt most of them so.

I keep driving at full speed while looking in the mirror, and I notice, there are two black cars behind me, the Base.

Robert sent f*****g Kelvin and his team after me, he knows how much that vampire hates me.

The roads are slippery and he is trying to get me off the road.

I keep driving but they are closing in and we are now approaching the city of werewolves, I shouldn’t be driving on these roads, wolves are very territorial but these men are hot on my tail and shooting at me.

suddenly my car swerves off the road, hitting a tree, luckily I had my seat belt on. I struggle to get out of the car but I manage, I have cuts over my body and my head is bleeding. Kelvin gets out of the car, he is grunting.

“I give it to you, you're so feisty,” He grabs me by my hair and punishes me. I try to get on my feet but pain coarse through my body.

He harshly releases me and I use the trees as a balance to get back on my feet, I spit out blood from my face and face the man.

“ The boss said we should take you back alive but didn’t tell us in a condition so we'll have to teach you a lesson," he smiles as the others get out of the car.

They continue to kick me all at once but I manage to stand up and fight them, they are a lot. I fight but they still overpower me. I hate feeling so powerless, I start to hit them faster and harder, I am the best of them all, now it’s just Kelvin and me, the others are down not died just groaning in pain thanks to my good fighting skills, I can’t go back there, he’ll punish me, lock me up, I cannot go in the darkroom.

“b***h,” he spats “You destroyed everything, do you think Robert will leave you be?” Kelvin is snarling, he was supposed to be dead, they failed in their mission and most of them were killed, I can see his black veins all over his skin and his fangs are longer.

“Well looks like you’ll have to explain to Robert how you lost your team,”

He looks at me angrily

“You are nothing and will always be,” I growl, we have been fighting relentlessly for a long time now, we keep kicking and punching each other.

“You are …just some silly little girl Robert manipulated, threatened, and lied to,” I look at him surprised and he hits my side, making me stumble back, what does he mean? before I can say anything he continues

“ The base killed your parents, and here you are working for them,”

I feel weak on my knees, I can hardly stand.

" You're lying," I cry.

" No, the base was hired by that woman to take you, but Robert saw you a weapon and decided to keep you from her,"

“What woman?!” I hit him super fast at once, I keep hitting him hard I can’t feel my knuckles anymore but he doesn’t answer! Kelvin starts to laugh as it hits me hard, Robert killed them. they lied to me, oh goddess he killed them.

I back away, and fell on my butt, I worked with them in hopes of them telling me the truth about my parent's death. I should have been hiding from them this whole time!

“He killed …them …my parents,"

The whole event replays in my head, and I cry loudly and pathetically.

“Well, you are coming with me whether you like it or not little girl,” he snarls. I don’t think I have any more strength left in me anymore. My brain isn’t functioning too well right now, I get up and start to walk absentmindedly but suddenly, a sharp pain hits me in the stomach and my hands fly. blood. Too much blood.

" What the f**k did you do!" I hear Kelvin growl.

" I thought she was escaping, I'm sorry," One of the men scream just as I hit the ground

“Robert won’t like it,” I can barely hear them as they bicker, my vision is blurry.

The pain is too much but Kelvin and the others have stopped talking, suddenly there are growls, a vicious fight is happening but I can't see anything just hear sounds. I fight to keep my eyes open but can't

“She’s losing a lot of blood!” a female voice I don’t recognize screams before everything stops.
