Meeting The Mafia Don
Rodriguez stared at the tiny figure in front of him, and he couldn’t understand for the life of him the conflicted thoughts that ran through his mind. For the last couple of days all that had mattered to him was finding the Drive and torturing the person who had taken it till death.
Right now all that will and contempt had gone out the window the moment that he had set his eyes on the girl. He still didn’t have the Drive and that just drove him insane, but Silver had been the last one to be seen with it and he had her, but for some goddamn reason he couldn’t find it in himself to lay a finger on her.
Not when she looked so vulnerable, pure and innocent. Instead he stood across the room from where she sat, tied to her chair and watched her sleep.
Silver felt the headache first, wincing at the discomfort that came with it. She felt stiff, like she had been sitting in a spot for days. Her entire body burned from the pain. She tried to open her eyes, but it felt difficult and couldn’t see a thing.
It took a few seconds for it to dawn on her, she was blindfolded, tied hands and feet to a chair. Fear enveloped her being and she began to tremble on her chair. Tears forcing their way from behind the blindfold, down her cheeks. She felt goosebumps break out on her skin when she realized that she’d been kidnapped.
It was the Russian men; that much she was sure, they were the only ones that could pull something like this, she was f****d. She struggled to get her hands out of the ties that bound them. Grunting in frustration when all her efforts seemed to do was have the ties dig even deeper on her wrists, biting the skin there and making her cry even more.
“You’ll end up hurting yourself more. Those ties won’t budge a bit.” The voice that spoke caused Silver to freeze in her seat, seizing all movements. She didn’t recognize the voice but the slight accent it had to it and the power it held; convinced her that it belonged to one of the Russian men.
Not the one that had made the order, his accent was more pronounced and his voice definitely wasn’t this strong. Silver knew she was in deep s**t. Hot tears cascaded down her cheeks, having found a clear path from her eyes down her cheeks even with the blindfold still on.
Rodriguez sighed in frustration, running his fingers through his hair. He wasn’t sure what to do right now and that just wasn’t like him at all. He usually had control over everything around him. Everything. But seeing the young girl with full curly hair sitting in front of him he could feel his control start to slip again.
For some reason he didn’t enjoy seeing her in tears, he didn’t revel in her sadness and fear, he didn’t have the urge to draw blood from her, torture her or cause her pain. He sighed once more, shaking his head to dispel his line of thoughts. Taking quick steps towards her, he reached behind her head to pull the blindfold free.
Squatting in front of her, so he was at eye level with her. He watched as she blinked a few times trying to adjust to the light. His breath seized in his throat though, the moment that she turned her emerald green eyes, shining with tears, towards him.
Silver gasped softly at the sight before her. It was the blue eyed man from the group at the bar. The one who had the most power pouring from him. She realized that she had not heard him speak that night and that was why she couldn’t immediately recognize his voice. His stance looked angry but the look in his eyes didn’t match it and that confused her.
What was he going to do to her? She couldn’t really tell, cause his muscles was strung tight, like he was about to reach for her neck and strangle it, but his eyes, his eyes were calm, soft and they regarded her with care.
“What is your name?” Rodriguez asked, eyes studying Silver’s face watching her every reaction, the way she sniffed, or gulped and the way she’d occasionally swipe her little tongue out to wet her drying lips.
It annoyed him greatly that little actions such as those had effects on him. Why did he even take notice of such irrelevant things? How was he supposed to torture and kill her if he was too occupied with fantasizing about her little tongue?
“S-Silver Reins.” She replied in a whisper, stuttering slightly. The pressure of being in the presence of such a powerful person slowly taking over her mind.
Rodriguez shut his eyes tight, taking deep breaths to try and regain control of his body before standing back up, turning around and moving to his previous position, standing by the wall.
This was going to be harder than he thought. Much harder than he thought. He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to find composure. That voice was beautiful, it felt like a whispered lullaby, soft and silky. He didn’t stand a chance, not against it.
“Silver, you know why you’re here. So why don’t you make it easier for the both of us and tell me where the Drive is.” Rodriguez said, his voice calm but filled with unspoken threats.
Silver knew there was absolutely no use trying to lie or deny anything, that might get her killed faster and she wanted to stay alive for as long as possible.
“I-I don’t know whe-re it is anymore. I didn’t st-eal it I swear, you le-eft it behind and I w-as just holding on to it, in- case you c-came bac-k for it. T-then I to-ok it home a-and when I got back, it was gone.” Silver couldn’t help the awful stutter, it was a miracle she was even able to talk and hadn’t piss herself yet.
Tears rushed down her face and the painful wracking that took over her small frame was heart-wrenchingly palpable. It shook her and the fact that she still had her hands tied made it even more difficult.
Rodriguez couldn’t bear the sight before him, there was a painful squeeze in his chest and it confused him, he just wasn’t sure what it was and how to make it stop. Sparing Silver’s shaking form one last look, he opened the door to the room where she was kept captive and shut it behind him, breathing a little better the moment that he stepped out of the room.
This wasn’t good, not a single bit. Rodriguez previously suspected that Silver could have been sent by his rivalry, but listening to her talk and watching her ball out her eyes in misery, was enough to convince him otherwise.
Silver sat crying for what felt like hours, and maybe it was, because she only stopped when it felt like her tear ducts had exhausted everything in them and had nothing to produce anymore.
Her eyes burned from crying too much and her body hurt even worse than it did when she had just woken up. Taking a moment to study the room she was locked in for the first time since she opened her eyes. She noticed that there were no windows in the room and the ceilings seemed to go on forever, the only object in the room, asides the chair she was bound to was the bright bulb hanging off the ceiling.
Sighing softly, she shuffled in her seat, trying to get into a comfortable position on the stiff chair, huffing in annoyance when she couldn’t find one.
Shutting her eyes, she let the exhaustion of the recent events wash over her. She couldn’t figure out what these people had in store for her and thinking about it all made her head hurt. Shaking her head gently, she closed her eyes and let sleep take over.
