Becoming A Slave “Boss?” Rodriguez was snapped out of his his reverie by the sound of Jared’s voice. His second in command had come into his office with some business details that he had to attend to and in the middle of his droning on how important some of the details were, his mind had slipped back to the young girl, tied in the room downstairs. Silver. He couldn’t get the image of her wobbling lips, shining eyes and her little tongue out of his mind and it drove him mad. He had requested that she be moved from the chair to a more comfortable mattress on the floor and that she be fed twice daily. He wasn’t quite sure about what to do with her, but letting her go wasn’t an option he was considering at all. “That girl Jared, what do you suggest I do to her? She obviously doesn’t have the Drive anymore, do you advice I let her go?” Rodriguez asked his second in command, looking to the younger man with pleading eyes, it almost felt like he was trying to plead with Jared to solve this dilemma for him. “I believe her when she says she only took the Drive for safe keeping, after I forgot it on the table and I don’t exactly believe she could be working for the other team, she doesn’t belong in a life like this, I just don’t advice you let her go back yet. The Drive is missing from her house, it means whoever took it feels like she’s a part of this, she’s now a target, eve though unknowingly, but she’s a part of the operation now.” Jared said thoughtfully. Rodriguez hummed under his breath, taking a moment to process Jared’s words. It made a lot of sense. He would be signing her death sentence the moment that her let her back to her life and the thought of that, sent cold shivers down his spine. It took a lot of restraint to not reach and massage the pain in his chest away at just the thought. He couldn’t let her return to her old life just yet, not while the pieces of this puzzle were still missing. He rubbed his forehead, willing the headache that was starting to form away. This wasn’t about to get easier, he knew that for a fact. “Bring her to me.” Rodriguez said to Jared. The latter nodding in understanding before turning around and leaving the room. Tapping his feet impatiently he waited with batted breath for the tiny brown girl with emerald green eyes. f**k unique features. Silver laid on the mattress with hands tied in front of her, although she got a couple hours of them free each day but it was mainly to use the bathroom, she felt it was useless bounding her though because she obviously wasn’t stupid enough to try and escape. She had seen the guns the men around wielded, their appearances alone was enough reassurance that only a slap could probably make her deaf, plus they knew where she lived and where she worked, even if she were to succeed in running, where would she hide? Her mind drifted off to the blue eyed man. She still didn’t know his name and had only seen him on the first day that he had come in to question her, although she was sure that he meant her no good, Silver couldn’t stop thinking about him, the ocean blue of his eyes, and his calm, but deep, sultry voice. His looks could only be described as devilishly perfect. The man was very imposing and charismatic. A knock came on the door bringing her out of her daydream, since she had been brought here, asides from the fact that she was kidnapped and tied up, she was usually treated with kindness, or as much kindness as the situation allowed. There were always knocks on the door and although they never waited for a ‘come in’ response from her, it still made her feel better. They allowed her the privacy to use the bathroom which she appreciated more than anything. The man that she had come to associate with the name Jared came into the room, his signature stoic expression etched on his face. She wondered what went through his head all the time, he never wore an expression outside of the neutral and that was scary, how did a person not show any form of expression? “The boss wants to see you.” Six words that caused terror to race through her veins. From observation she had been able to gather that the man from the first day was the boss and although she appreciated his features and was curious about him. She was almost certain that him requesting her presence wasn’t to gift her a bar of her favorite chocolate. He held her fate in his hands and whatever became of her in this situation was in his hands. She closed her eyes and sent a silent prayer to whoever could be listening, hoping that she came out of it alive. Whatever her fate turned out to be. Losing the ties that bound her wrists, she hissed in pain at the soreness of her hands, massaging the spot where the ties sat whenever they came over her hands. Even her brown skin couldn’t do much to hide the red of her wrists. Sighing in defeat she hung her head and followed Jared out of the room, the latter placing a firm hand on her shoulder, leading her through the house. As soon as she step out the passage that held the room that she had been kept in, her eyes widened in shock. She was stood in the most magnificent space that she had ever seen. The door that they had come out from lead into an open space that held a single antique table, fitted on a beautiful, lavender flower patterned rug. On the table sat a glass vase of flowers, that caught the light from the beautiful chandelier above and scattered around the floor, creating the most beautiful illusion. The flowers weren’t real, they were made of glass. A beautiful stairway, was opposite the table. It had a flower patterned rug like the one beneath the center table, only this time in the color red. Glass doors that lead to a beautiful garden that she could barely see, stood behind the stairway. The living space had beautiful furnitures line every corner, from the sofa chair in the middle, to plush bar chairs that rested against a high table, to beautiful shelves that held rows of the most expensive wine and liquors. Beautiful paintings lined walls after walls in the house. She pushed her glasses up her face, as if to see the living room better and take in the space. It felt too surreal to her. The beauty of the mansion. The end of the stairs opened to rows of doors. Silver didn’t think that she would ever be able to find her way around the house by herself. Walking up to the door at end of the hallway, Jared knocked softly at the door on the left, waiting patiently until a muffled ‘come in’ sounded from within. Silver could hear the sound of her heart in her ears. Closing her eyes to take a deep breath, before opening them and coming in right after Jared. She was in an office, another beautiful space, but the nausea that threatened to overcome her from the fear that she felt, prevented her from appreciating it. Silver kept her head bowed and twisted her fingers nervously. Shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot. The blue eyed man, had yet to say a word and that just put her on edge. Rodriguez enjoyed the discomfort that affected Silver. He enjoyed watching her twiddle with her fingers and shuffle from foot to foot, but he decided that he had, had enough. Clearing his throat once he began. “You won’t be going back to your old life Silver, you have stumbled upon this operation and a part of this operation you have become from the first moment. That being said you will be my personal maid moving forward. You are not to step a foot outside of this mansion for any reason, bear in mind that the very moment that you do, you will be killed immediately. Your freedom within the house, depends on how well behaved you are. Do you understand?” Once he had gotten a solemn nod from her, he continued. “Go down into the kitchen and Maria will get you started.” He finished, not giving her the space to utter a word. The sadness that overwhelmed Silver at that moment was more than anything that she had ever felt, wiping the tears that rolled down her cheeks, she turned back around Jared in front of her to guide her, exiting the office, the feeling of emptiness overbearing.
