CHAPTER 8: Care to join me.

1052 Words
Laura “How is my beautiful roommate doing today.” Max wakes me with his bit** voice while opening the window curtains. I whine a little at the sudden sunlight coming into contact with my sleepy eyes. “What the hell, Max.” I say in my sleepy voice. “It is such a beautiful morning, Laura.” He sighs and inhales the morning air through the window. Max is a morning person, sometimes I like how early he wakes up. I wish I was more like him. “Go away.” I say covering myself with the duvet. But Max pulls it all the way down and throws it to the floor. Now I am completely exposed, there is no way I can sleep now. He is so annoying sometimes. “You will get it from me, Max, you just wait and see.” I say angrily. “Alright, I will be waiting for that threat to be set in motion. For now, go into the shower, freshen up and come to the living room, I will be waiting for you.” And with that, he catwalks out of my room. He is just wearing a crop top, and denim shorts. I wonder how he doesn't catch a cold in such mornings. He is really something, all in all, I love him. *** “I am done, now what was the rush about?” I ask immediately I finish freshening up. “Go change and wear something sexy.” Max orders me, as I am just wearing a free long dress, wide enough to fit three people in it. “You look like a ghost.” He adds, frowning his face a little. “You are being dramatic Max, I am just here with you. So, what is the big deal.” I say, sliding to the seat beside him and picking a hot dog, which is placed on the serving plate on the table. Before I can even shove it in my mouth, Max snatches it away from me. “What is wrong with you, Max, is this why you woke me up.” I ask, confused at his behavior. “This isn't for you, ma'am, it is for Mr. Hot guy. Just go and change into something sexy for goodness’ sake before I make you.” He says in a slight higher tone. I obey because I don't want us to argue over nothing. I look at my clothes for a while, deciding on what to wear. I settle on a brown sweat pant and a white t shirt. There is no way I am going to wear a sexy dress. I know what he is thinking, but I don't want to embarrass myself in front of Liam. Because I am sure Max wants me to take the hot dogs to him. “There you go, am I sexy enough.” I say in a sarcastic tone as I enter the living room. Max gasps and places his hand on his mouth in awe. “Is that your definition of sexy, Laura, if it is, then we are all doomed.” He says in a pretty serious tone. “Relax, Max, everything is fine. So, what did you want me to do.” I ask. “I wanted you to take these hot dogs to mysterious hot guy, and I wanted you to be sexy so that you can impress him. But instead you are going to put him in a coma for sure. Because immediately he looks at you, he will get a heart attack.” Max says. “Oh please, Max, stop with the exaggeration.” I say, picking up the bowl of hot dogs and heading out before Max stops me. I knock at Liam's door. I just hope he is awake already. “Who is it.” I hear his enchanting voice from the other side of the door. Immediately, I feel weak in my knees. I regret not wearing a sexy dress as Max had suggested. Too late because I hear footsteps coming towards the door, nowhere to run to now. And definitely nowhere to hide. “Hey, it's you.” He says in a surprised tone as soon as he opens the door. “Yes, it is me.” I say, looking at him. We stare at each other for some time, a really awkward and long time. He clears his throat, bringing me back into my senses. “Oh, sorry, I brought you this.” I say in a voice which is barely a murmur. “What? Speak up, I cannot hear you.” He says impatiently. I want to tell him that I have a crush on him, but I cannot. Where will I start? “I said, I brought you this to say thank you for last night.” I say now a bit loud. I look back, and I see Max peeping through the curtains. I am sure he must be laughing his heart out right now at my awkwardness. I will teach him a lesson for making me be in this situation. “Last night.” He thinks for a while. “Oh, right. I remember. It was nothing really, no need to thank me, Laura.” He says and smiles. Oh, his smile, I almost scream in joy as he calls me by my name. He remembered my name. I smile. He has already made my morning. I hand the bowl to him and turn to leave. “Care to join me.” He asks as I am about to open my door. To be honest, I was expecting him to invite me, I even had my fingers crossed literally. I smile a bit before I turn around with a serious face. I don't want him to know that I am thrilled at his invite. “Sure.” I say, I think I sound so eager. Who cares, I have been invited by the hot guy. My crush. “What about Max, won't he be sad or lonely, perhaps." Liam asks with raised eyebrows. “ He will suit himself.” I say eagerly. “After you then.” He ushers me in. I enter and he comes in right after me. He locks the door behind him.
