Great the day hasn't even started, and I have pissed my new homeroom teacher off! I slowly turn around, keeping my head down, avoiding eye contact. My whole world freezes when I hear this beautiful voice, but it's a pissed one argh.
"I do not tolerate, and students, please do not judge people without meeting them."
She then proceeds past me to open the door and let everyone in but stops me with her hand on my shoulder. Her hand causes sparks to run through my arm and neck, getting my heart racing.
"Wait, a minute little girl," the teacher instructs.
Little girl, I am not five years old, how dare she call me that. My face scrunches up, but her voice is one of a kind. I slightly look up to get a glance of her face. It is like nothing I have ever seen before, pure beauty. I cannot be looking at my teacher like that, focus Amelia! I say to myself
"I will not tolerate people talking with foul language in my class is that understood little girl?"
I nod my head just wanting this over with.
"Words little girl."
"I understand ma'am."
"Good girl. From this point onwards, you will look at me when I talk to you" my head snaps up so fast I nearly get dizzy. Her voice held so much dominance that I had no choice but to do what she said.
"Now, when you head inside, you will sit at the desk in front of mine."
"What the hell. No way!" I growl.
"Don't make me give you detention on the first-day young lady."
I mumble, "my name is Amelia, not little girl or young lady." Her eyes shoot up, but she just points into the classroom with a look that says you better not mess with me or else.
I stomp off, towards the seat, she instructed me to sit in, but it is already taken by Alex, the suck-up b***h, argh I hate her so much.
"Move you're in my seat" I growl, already pissed off.
Max gives me a weird look wondering why I am not sitting with him, but I guess Miss b***h answers that for him.
She is currently standing in front of Alex who is complaining like a baby.
"But Miss why do I have to move for her? There is no seating plan, and I was here first” Alex complains while pouting.
I quickly realise that I might be able to get out of this, so I speak up, "Miss, I don't want to force her, I can sit somewhere else."
"NO!" Miss b***h growls, raising her voice. "You will sit here and," she looks and Alex, "what's your name?"
"It's Alex Miss," she says with the sickly-sweet voice of hers, gross. I hate her so much.
"Well Alex, I need you to move, and I do not care if you like it or not, so please get up and find another place to sit."
Guess I am not getting out of this. Alex grabs her stuff and stomps off sitting next to Max, giving him a look of hatred. I roll my eyes before sitting myself down and slamming my books on the table. Max grabs his stuff, and as everyone in this homeroom knows we always sit together, so Nate, who is next to me, gets straight up and switches spots with him.
"Alright class listen up; my name is Miss Armstrong. I will be your homeroom teacher this year, and I also will be taking some of you for life skills and maths. We have a few things to go over this morning, as you all know, the first period is allocated to getting all students ready for the year to come."
Max and I roll our eyes at each other, knowing this is the most tedious part of our first day.
"Roll time, please answer with 'here' when I call out your name;
Alex "here."
Max "here."
I zone out not caring, I wonder when my parents are getting back, I better go shopping and stock up everything, so I don't get into trouble, oh and I must complete my chores. I better write a list of what I need to get done, so I don't get into trouble.
Max nudges me "what?" I ask full of annoyance.
"He is telling you that I was calling your name."
"Oh, sorry, Miss. Here."
"Pay attention next time Miss Greybrok, I do not want to warn you again."
"I'll try," I say as she continues to take attendants.
"What were you thinking about so intensely?"
"Just my parents and when they’re coming home and what I have to get done before that."
"Oh," he says, looking a little worried, knowing a little bit on how strict my parents are, but I hide as much as possible not wanting him to worry about me.
"It'll be alright. Last year then no more," I say putting on a happy face for him.
Miss Armstrong slams a pile of papers on my desk "Amelia will you please pass these class schedules out to each person they belong to and stop talking" she says firmly giving me no choice but to listen to her.
I grab the schedules and begin handing them out, Alex sticks out her foot and tries to trip me, but I dodge her.
"b***h what is your problem with me" I yell getting in her face
"That is enough you two, Amelia, finish handing out the schedules and then sit back down. Alex, please keep your legs and arms within the bounds of your table."
That b***h, how dare she! The teacher barely told her off, Fuckin hell! I quickly slam everyone's schedules down before heading back to my table. As I am about to sit down, Miss b***h tells me to hand out more papers. Great, I am her errand girl. How lucky? Sarcasm included.
---
I have yet to look at or organise my paperwork while everyone else is mucking around and yelling. Every time, I think I can sit down, that b***h just keeps giving me more s**t to hand out.
Finally, I’m able to finish handing out every last piece of paper and sit down.
"Max, can you believe this?"
He just sits there laughing his head off at me.
“She made you her b***h, well student b***h” he states, before laughing harder.
"Shut up Max, I need to look through all this stuff."
I grab my schedule and see I also have Miss Armstrong for life skills and maths. Argh, kill me now.
"Max, who do you have for maths?”
"Mr Maxwell, who do you have?" I hope Stacia is in that Class, I really don't want to be alone.
"Miss Armstrong and I have her in bloody life skills as well."
His face is red from trying not to laugh, "you will survive, I am in your life skills class though, and I looked at your schedule, and we also have English and history together. Do you want to text Stacia and ask her what classes she has?
"Your right I will totally survive," I say with as much sarcasm that I can muster up. "I will text her now."
I grab my phone out and text Stacia.
Me: Do you have your schedule yet? What teachers do you have?
Stacia: Yes, I do and omg I miss you guys already; I have Mr Maxwell for maths, Miss Armstrong for life skills, Mr Dickson for history, Mrs Cole for PE, Miss Java for English, Mr Smith for Business
Me: Yay we have every class together apart from maths, but you and Max do have maths together. Max isn't in our business and PE class.
Stacia: Sweet, see you at snack then.
Just as I go-to reply my phone is snatched out of my hand by no other than Miss Armstrong
"No phones in class, everyone put them away please" she firmly orders, walking away with my phone. I put my hand up "Miss" trying to get her attention, "that is not my name. What do you want?"
"Can I please have my phone back; I promise I won't use it again."
"No, I will give it back at the end of the day, is that understood?"
"But Miss, that's not fair everyone was on their phones."
"Do not argue with me, I said you will get it at the end of the day, and that is when you will get it, understood” she yells, her voice full of dominance.
I quickly shrink back into my chair replying with, “Understood Miss Armstrong" before looking down.
"Everyone please go to your lockers and collect your period two books and return promptly."
We all get up and leave the classroom, I turn to Max and ask "what the hell just happened?"
"I don't know but I think you need to be careful around her or you will get detention, and you can't be getting those when your parents are back."
"I know I know" I realise how right he is; we continue talking on the way to our lockers.
