Chapter 8That night, she did not dream. The next morning, when she realized nothing had come to pass, she despaired. Then she remembered Dakota’s words: Maybe you need to eat something. Felicity went grocery shopping. Where once she’d been a proficient shopper in the past, always sticking to a strict budget and a list, now she slowed. She walked up the aisles with a careful gait and added materials to her cart that she believed she needed in order to accomplish the dream ritual. She found the silver balls like confetti that Dakota had mentioned and slipped them into her already nearly full array of fruit.
