Chapter 7Dakota worked at the only bar on campus that was also a half-way decent restaurant. Their lunch special was ham on rye, served with sauerkraut, and while it looked utterly compelling, Felicity decided to just grab some coffee. While she drank it black, Dakota had to deal with the lunch rush. During the spring term, there weren’t too many people on-campus, but it still took about two refills of coffee before Dakota’s attention was free enough to listen to Felicity’s story. Even then, Dakota kept busy fussing and cleaning behind the counter and bar area. Her supervisor, a tall, lean man with a bright red beard didn’t seem to mind Felicity lingering and distracting his bartender, especially not when she kept ordering coffee and shelling out two or three dollars here and there for tip
