The following morning he woke up to visit the toilet. While he was up he called Mr Wiggins and told him he was too ill to go into work. “What’s wrong with you?” Mr Wiggins asked in his usual gruff manner. “I just don’t feel well,” he replied before hanging up. He went back to bed and fell asleep. Later that morning the phone rang. He heard it as part of dream and didn’t bother to answer it. He didn’t care who it was. Probably Mr Wiggins calling to check up on him. He called in again Tuesday. “You’d better get yourself a doctor’s certificate,” Mr Wiggins barked. “That’s two days in a row.” “I’m not paying to see a doctor,” Alexander replied bluntly. “I’ll be in tomorrow.” He pushed the button and hung up on Mr Wiggins. He couldn’t care less if he got fired. It would please him no end
