Chapter 3 Alexander felt a little over-eager as he knocked on Christian’s door for the second night in a row. “I thought I might see you tonight,” Christian said. “Come in.” The luxuriant foliage of Christian’s indoor jungle, despite no longer being a surprise, still managed to awe Alexander. That evening two brightly coloured parrots sat side by side on a branch that reached out into the area where, in a normal house, a lobby would be. “They look cosy,” he commented. “Yes,” Christian said, placing a welcoming peck on Alexander’s lips. “They finally found each other.” Without being led, Alexander found he was making his own way towards the steps that led to the cool blue. Only when he was halfway down did he say, “Sorry. I just assumed we were going to the beach.” Christian laughed
