Leon P.O.V. "Thank you for coming again, Elaine," I said. She looked back up at me with a wave of her hand and shrugged it off. "It's a pleasure to be helping, Your Highness. Now, they're are some requirements that need to be met for this to be successful," Elaine said. "Of course, what do we need?" Sage asked her. "First, I need you to meditate for about thirty minutes. You have to have a clear mind while also focusing your energy on the curse. I know that will be slightly difficult, seeing as how you don't know what you were cursed with, but just try to focus all of your energy onto it. Meanwhile, while she is doing this, My King, I need you to escort me to a place that is secluded. A place with no windows, no light, and no noise. I have everything else that is needed in preparation for this to work," she said, looking between me and Sage. "Okay, I think I know of a room we can go to," I said. "Do you want to stay here, or go to your bedroom?" I asked Sage. She scrunched up her nose, thinking about it. A smile came to my face as I studied her soft, yet silly, features. It took everything in me to hold my wolf back while kissing her earlier, if Sydoney hadn't walked in, I would have thrown her on the desk and ravaged every single spot on her beautiful body. I would have made sure the entire Kingdom knew just who her sounds of pleasure belonged to. "I think I'll stay here," her soft voice broke me out of my thoughts. "Okay, would you care if I closed the drapes, My King?" Elaine asked me. "No, of course not. Let me help." We both walked all over the room to all the windows, blocking out the sunshine from getting in. When we got to the window wall, Elaine took one side while I took the other and we closed the giant curtains. The room was now dimly lit by the desk lamp. I had mind linked Travis, Kenny, and a few others to not come to my office for the next half hour. Sage sat in the middle of the floor with her legs crossed and her hands resting on her knees. She had a small smile on her lips and just the sight of her made my heart beat faster. She looked up at me with her teal eyes and her smile widened just a little. "Are you sure you'll be okay in here alone?" I asked her, worry lacing my tone. "I'll be fine, don't worry about me," she said, giving me a reassuring smile. I nodded my head and walked out with Elaine in tow. Once we were both out of the room, I turned and saw Sage closing her eyes and settling her body. She looked so peaceful, so beautiful. I shut the door and ordered Elaine to follow me. We made our way down to the main floor and out the castle doors. I looked around the field as I saw new warriors training on the left, in the distance there were young pups running around and playing, and to my right there was a small concrete structure with no windows and only one door. Two warriors were standing guard. But that wasn't the place I had my sights set on. It was the smaller concrete building next to it. The interrogation room. It was perfect conditions for what Elaine had said. No windows and soundproof. We walked along the field, everybody bowed as we passed by them. I walked over to one of the guards just as they bowed their heads. "I need the key for the interrogation room," I spoke with authority. The guard didn't say anything, just fished in his pocket until he pulled out the gold key. I walked over to the smaller building and unlocked it. I walked in first, with Elaine following close by. I reached up and found the string to the only lightbulb in the secluded room. The place was dusty and only held one wooden chair. "This is perfect," Elaine sighed in relief. "Although, that lightbulb will have to be completely unscrewed and taken out of here." "Why?" I found myself asking. "We don't know how powerful her energy really is. This procedure is going to be used by both her energy and my own and based on what I felt from her a little bit ago, she is more powerful than even she herself knows. If the energy in the room is too strong, the bulb will explode," she said as she pulled out multiple white candles and placed them all around. I nodded without responding, just watching her set the room up. She then pulled out four more candles that were larger than the white ones. The first one was grey, the next purple, then green, and finally she pulled out a black candle. That raised a little suspicion in me. I know a little about witchcraft and I know that candle colors mean something. "What do those colors represent?" I asked Elaine. "Grey is to focus on dreams and astral energy, since this all started with her nightmare dream. Purple stands for spiritual power. Green is mainly for me, since I am a green witch. It stands for the Element of Earth and also physical healing." "And what about black? I thought that was used for dark magick?" I asked, an edge in my voice. "Please don't worry, Your Highness, the black candle can represent many things according to what the witch wants it to. But for my magic, it represents protection. It repels negativity," she said with a smile. She lit all the candles one by one. Once she put flame onto the last one, I pulled the string overhead, shutting the light off and unscrewed the bulb. She pulled a bag of pink Himalayan rock salt out and poured it around the chair, forming a circle. "This kind of salt also helps cleanse energy and spirit," she said, answering my unsaid question. "Now, while you go get Sage, I am going to smudge the room, helping clear out any negative energy this room may contain. Please shut the door when you go out." I nodded and walked out of the building, making my way back to the castle. I couldn't help the worry that built up in me, mixed in with regret. Her question kept repeating in my mind, what are we? I wanted so badly to just grab her and claim her and engrave it into her mind that she was mine. But I couldn't do that, not to her. My feelings grow stronger for each day, but I don't know how she might feel. She masks her feelings very well, I've come to notice, but whenever we're together she seems sincere. But now is not the time to ponder on things like that. We have to break this curse off her, and I'll do everything in my power to help her. If she decides to leave once this is done and over with, I won't stop her. From being locked away in that shack her whole life, there are still a lot of things she has yet to experience. And I'll be damned if I hold her back. I found myself in front of the office door once again. I was so caught up in my thoughts, I didn't even notice I was here yet. I looked down at my watch, it had only been twenty-five minutes. So I paced back and forth for the next five minutes, different scenarios about how this ritual might go were going in my head. Finally, I sighed and opened the door. Sage was still sitting the same way she was when we left. Except now, she looked more peaceful. Her face looked more somber and her lips were curved ever so slightly upwards. I smiled at the sight of her, my heart skipping a few beats. I still didn't understand why she had such an effect on me like she did. But I wasn't complaining. She opened one eye and smiled. "Hey you," she said softly. "Hey," I chuckled. "Everything's ready." She took a deep breath and nodded, "Okay." I extended my hand to help her up, which she took. When she was up, I lightly squeezed her hand and looked into her eyes. They held a whirlwind of emotions, worry, fear, anxiety. But the longer we looked into each others eyes, I saw most of those disappear. She smiled at me with a look of gratefulness. "You ready?" I asked, squeezing her hand once more. "Yes, I am," she said, not taking her eyes off mine. We made our way back out, hand in hand. People were still bowing as we walked past them, but I could tell it was making Sage a little bit uncomfortable. We rushed the rest of the way there. Once inside, I shut and locked the door behind me. Elaine was standing behind the chair smiling. "Sage, please sit down," she said, gesturing towards the chair. Sage did as told and sat down. As soon as she entered the circle of salt, the grey candles flame seemed to grow higher and more furious. But nobody seemed to notice except me. Anyway, I went and stood in the back corner, crossing my arms and watching intently. Elaine lit some incense and started chanting. She took some kind of herb out of her pocket and spread it over her hands. She then, while still chanting, placed her right hand on the middle of Sages back. "Just close your eyes and relax," Elaine instructed. Sage did as she was told and breathed out as she closed her eyes. Elaine went on with her chanting while I just watched in amazement. "She would make the perfect submission," Killian groaned. "Knock it off and quit thinking like that," I ordered. He retreated back in the depths of my mind but I couldn't stop it from crossing my mind as well. I started to feel a tightness from within my pants and forced myself to shake my head clear of all the unsanitary thoughts. I focused my gaze back on the two women. "Okay, now Sage," Elaine started once she was done chanting, "I need you to envision a thread connecting from the curse within you. Imagine it coming out of your back, right where you feel my hand. Almost like a marionette puppets strings." "Okay," Sage said, nodding. Elaine started her chanting again and after a few moments, she raised her hand up off Sages back but it was like she was holding something now, pulling it out. What amazed me most though, I could see Sages back lifting slightly where Elaine was pulling the invisible cord. Sages face seem to contort into pain and I had to stop myself from stopping Elaine. Elaines chanting grew louder and louder, until she bent down and picked up a pair of scissors that were in a bowl of water by her feet. She chanted and chanted, Sages face growing more and more like she was in intense pain. I started to take a step forward and just as I did, Elaine stopped her chant and I heard the snip from the scissors. I looked up and watched as Elaine placed the invisible string into the bowl of water the scissors were once in. Everything felt different, peaceful almost. Sage lifted her head and opened her eyes. I ran to her and knelt down in front of her, taking her hands in mine. "Are you okay?" I asked in a whisper. She nodded her head and went to stand up, though her legs were a bit wobbly. She ended up leaning onto me to keep herself steady. I wrapped my arm around her waist and the sparks came alive, more prominent than anytime before. I felt her shudder beside me. "How are you feeling, Sage," Elaine asked. "I feel... lighter. Like a weight was lifted from my chest. And a little bit sore," Sage answered honestly. "Good, that means it was a success! The soreness should go away within an hour or two, tops. You should probably go get some rest," Elaine told Sage. Sage nodded and turned towards the door. "Do you need any help cleaning up?" I asked Elaine. "No, Your Highness. Just make sure she rests well and try to keep her close to you," Elaine said, turning around and blowing the candles out. "Thank you, Elaine," I said with such sincerity in my voice, she looked at me shocked. She didn't respond, just nodded her head and smiled at me. I nodded back and opened the door, letting the sunshine pour into the room. We started walking across the field, Sages steps becoming more and more sluggish. We entered in through the front door and came face to face with Aceso. "How are you feeling, dear?" Aceso asked with worried eyes. "Like I just ran across the country," Sage said with a tired voice. Aceso chuckled and said, "Well, as crazy as this might sound, that is a good thing." She handed me a bottle of water and gave me a stern look. "Make sure she drinks this when she wakes up. It will help with her energy." I nodded and thanked her. We walked up the stairs and to my study. I laid Sage down on the couch and she was out like a light. I smiled and caressed her face. I grabbed a spare blanket from the cabinet and threw it over her. I pushed her hair our of her face and looked at her once more. She sure was a beauty. And every move she makes is with such gracefulness. Where did this woman even come from, I thought to myself. With a smile on my face, I got up and moved around my desk, getting back into my paperwork of all the packs on the westside of the country. "Your Highness," Elaines voice rang in my head. "What's up?" "There's something I must tell you about Sage." I put my pen down and turned my sights on the sleeping beauty just a few feet away from me. "What is it?" I asked, worry lacing my tone. "She wouldn't have really felt the string being pulled and cut unless...." "Unless what?" "Unless she is some kind of supernatural herself. Most likely, a witch."
