CHAPTER EIGHT

1929 Words

CHAPTER EIGHT THAT WAS THE SECOND evening in a row when Mark couldn’t find what he was looking for, and his frustration only grew more. He had been cruising the bars for the last two evenings, and he even went into two clubs but left disappointed. Ella’s image was always there, at the back of his mind. Mark couldn’t focus on another woman, although he spoke to a few. He either didn't like the sound of their voice or the color of their eyes. Anyway, regardless of the reason, he didn’t enjoy the time spent with them. He bought them a couple of drinks, spent about ten or fifteen minutes with each one of them, and then left to look somewhere else. Getting out of the last bar he visited, Mark stopped and fidgeted with his watch. Dissatisfaction was gnawing at him. His weakness annoyed him.
