As Ellen's feet touched the ground, the air that hit her face was a mixture of hot and cold air, it was strange to her that she was finally back in this city after swearing never to return when she left four years ago. The weather in Nebula City has always been one of its weird charms because she wondered why on earth was the weather cold and hot at the same time. Her eyes darted around the airport as it landed on her children as they stayed glued to their nanny. "Mommy" Aaron screamed as he ran to her side, his hands trying desperately to make a connection with hers. "What is it, honey?" She asked taking his little hand to ease him of his struggle. "Alicia hit me in the head" he said in a sad voice. "I am sure she did not mean to do it," she said trying to pacify him. Her daughter had always been a strong girl and made sure to show it as often as she could. "No," he drew out as if he was exhausted and at the same time trying to convince his mother that his sister had been a bully to him. "Alicia" Ellen called out gently to get the attention of the little girl whose little legs tried to match the pace of her nanny. She turned to me briefly with a toothy smile. "Yes Mommy," she said. "Why did you hit your brother on his head?" She asked and watched her countenance fall. "What did mommy say about bullying your brothers?" I "That I should not do that," she said in a cute tone. Ellen could tell from her face that she was in the wrong but the tone of her voice but the expression on her face was distracting her from reprimanding her about the matter. "Apologize to your brother" Alicia nodded. She popped her head through the front part of her body so her head was dangling a bit, so she could look at her brother. "I am sorry Aaron" she said blinking multiple times. "Aaron, do you forgive your sister?" Ellen asked and he nodded. "Go ahead to meet Eliza then" she said pushing them ahead. She was happy to be able to get them off her hands for a few minutes. They hurried along their little feet touching the ground as they ran to catch up with Eliza who was holding on to their brother Arlo. She needed a minute to be with her thoughts and this was the only opportunity she had. The silent walk from the arrival hall to the place where her ride was waiting to take her to the house. She hoped that she did not need to run into her ex-husband. She was only going to be in the city for a few weeks and then she would be back to her new home. Her eyes fell on a familiar figure walking towards her. She hated that she recognised him, why did he have to appear when she had only thought of him? His eyes locked with her and an expression fell on his face. She could tell that he recognised her. She watched his steps falter as they came to a halt in front of her. "Fancy seeing you here" his voice was smooth and it was weird that it was all too familiar to her even though she had not heard that voice in four years. "And you too," Ellen said and then instantly regretted why she said that. It was not off seeing him there since he lived there and practically owned the city. The strange thing was seeing her there, she was the stranger there. she could tell he was thinking the same thing because of the smirk on his face. He opened his mouth and she wished he would not say what he wanted to. It was like he was reading her mind because he simply said. "We should see each other when I get back," he said. They had not left each other on a sour note but still, she felt a tug on her chest like an ex should feel for the other. "I won't be around for long" she muttered. "Still it'll be good to catch up" She thought about it and it was not a bad idea at all. She nodded she was about to talk when Arlo's tiny loud voice pierced through the air. "Mommy, are you coming?" Varian turned to face Arlo who was running towards them. His eyes widened as he watched the little boy. There was something familiar about the boy. He wanted to speak when his secretary Baron whispered that he needed to get going. He nodded and threw a smile at Ellen before walking away before the little boy could catch up with them. "Baron look into her for me" he said as he walked away. "Okay sir" There was something fishy and he was going to get to the bottom of it.
