"Baron, have you gotten the information I asked from you?" Varian asked. He felt fidgety on the plane, it was like he should leave everything he had to do and go ask Ellen all the questions that plagued his mind. Baron was seated right beside him in the first-class booth of the plane. He knew that he couldn't have the information he requested but he could not stop himself from asking. "It has only been two hours Mr Meriwether and we are still on air" Baron murmured. "Oh yeah that's right" Varian responded shaking his tapping his feet vigorously on the ground. Baron shook his head, if he was that worried about her he should have just asked her when he saw her instead he froze stupidly and waited till she was out of reach from him once again. Varian wanted to push time himself, he still had roughly two hours before he could land at the neighbouring state for his business. "Also try to find out when she will be going back, I have to know what's going on and have a meeting with her before she leaves" Baron nodded, he marked it down as things to urgently attend to as soon as they landed at Chiachester City. Baron glanced at his boss's gentle and delicate features on his face. He looked troubled even though his eyes were closed and he tried his best to look as if the situation was not bothering him. He hoped he would not have a hard time as four years ago when Ellen walked out of his life, it was weird because he did not seem to show it but he had begun to depend her on in those few months. He tried to bury himself in various kinds of absurd duties just to distract himself and everyone around him. He did not want them to know that the woman he had randomly picked was now someone who he needed. Baron somehow despised Ellen although he could not fully hate her, she was only acting according to the contract, Varian was only interested in deceiving his father at that time and that was why he took a stranger. Baron could only hope that her return would not cause unbearable feelings for Varian again. "We have arrived" Baron whispered. Varian stirred, it was obvious he had only been pretending to be asleep all the while, he was doing that just to get his mind off the earlier events. "Okay," he said as his eyes flew open, if they were going to land any moment from them he had to get ready for landing. A few moments later he was walking down to the airport doors with the sun blasting deep into his skin. He was as fast as his legs could carry him so he could get done with his business and return home as soon as possible. "Don't forget to get me the details before my business dinner tonight" Varian said as he slipped into the car prepared for him. Baron had a couple of things to check up on to ensure that he had a good stay in the city so he was not going along with him to the hotel. "Yes sir" Baron replied closing the door gently and then watching the car skidding away. Varian got to the hotel room and tried to search the internet for anything related to her, her socials that used to have snippets of her life from before they got married seemed to be dormant ever since they were joined by the law. It was as if she was washed away from the surface of the earth after her last post. It was a picture of a breakfast plate with the caption, living my best life. He wondered if she could still make that statement. Of all the things he was curious about he wondered the most about the little child that had the exact same colour of eyes as his, midnight blue. There was simply nothing about her on the internet and it was frustrating for him, he wanted to know. He threw his phone to the couch as he plopped down to the same couch, a glass of brandy in one hand and the other running through his head with a sigh of frustration from his lips. "Why am I even bothered?" He asked himself as he tried to feign ignorance. He was sure that if Baron was here he would be laughing his butt off in his face at how hard he was trying to be nonchalant about the situation. His phone vibrated beside him and he looked at it. He inched closer to it before opening it. Baron had sent a file to him, he hissed as he opened it to go over the contents. In bold big letters, there read ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ELLEN EVERHART
