Clara felt like she was lying on something so soft, she stretched her joints and motioned her body to face right when she realized something about what happened yesterday.
She immediately stood up before checking where she was, she’s inside a black and white room filled with many different kinds of golden furniture.
Clara stared at her clothes and she panicked when she realized that this wasn’t what she was wearing yesterday.
“Good morning wife,” she flinched after she heard a door opened, it was a door attached to the room she’s in right now.
She gulped after seeing that Tristan was in black robes and was drying his hair, “Is there something wrong? You look like you’ve just woken up in a bad dream,” he added when his wife didn’t greet him.
“G-Good morning,” Clara finally mustered up the courage to greet her husband, Tristan just beamed at her before sitting at the edge of the bed.
“What’s bothering you?” Tristan gazed at her softly as he noticed Clara holding out her nightdress that she was changed into last night.
“Oh, are you thinking that I changed your clothes last night?” Tristan softly asked, so Clara just bit her lower lip.
Tristan smiled before patting her head, “I wouldn’t do that even if you’re already my wife, you’re defenseless that time, I’d rather have you awake if I’m going to take off your clothes,” Clara turned beet red at what he said, so Tristan just laughed.
“I’m just messing with you, wife, I called a maid to help you change into decent clothes last night, I wouldn’t want you to sleep in dirty clothes,” Tristan explained, so Clara just sighed in relief.
“I-I’m sorry for acting like that, I-I’m just not used to um you know, like this,” Clara sounded so sincere, so Tristan couldn’t help but find her adorable.
“It’s alright wife, you don’t have to apologize, now let’s get you downstairs, I heard you haven’t eaten dinner yesterday,” After Tristan said those words, Clara's stomach created a rumbling noise that made them both stop.
Clara blushed once more as she lowered her head, Tristan just chuckled before inviting his wife out of that room, “This is our humble home, I’d like to take you to the other house, but I decided to buy this one since it was a little bit far from the center of the city,” Tristan explained, so Clara tilted her head for a moment.
“Y-You bought this house last night?” Clara was a little bit surprised at what she heard, so Tristan just nodded.
“Yes, consider this as my wedding gift too, this is our new home as husband and wife,” Tristan happily said after they descended downstairs.
The colors black, white, and gold were used throughout the building. It appears to be visually pleasing to her because it looks like an excellent setting for both of them to be in. It's an elegant two-story house with enough rooms for them both.
Tristan guided her in the dining room and it revealed to her a huge kitchen and island. Clara's eyes gleamed because her parents taught her so much about cooking that she even wanted to have a huge kitchen at her future home.
“Your kitchen is so humongous,” Clara couldn’t contain the amazement in her voice, which made Tristan chuckle.
“You mean our kitchen wife,” Tristan winked before letting her sit on the chair, “Wait here, I’ll make your breakfast,” he said and was about to go when Clara grabbed his wrists.
“N-No, please let me cook, it’s the least I could do for letting me stay here,” Clara smiled, so Tristan wondered at her statement for a moment before smiling.
“Alright wife,” he replied before sitting comfortably right beside the chair next to her, Clara immediately paced towards the kitchen and internally screamed because she’s seeing the stuff she wanted to buy for herself in her kitchen someday.
It's a shame that she had to leave soon after this was all over, she thought. Shaking her head, she decided to wear the apron hanging near the fridge as she tied the strings on the back of her waist.
Clara looked at the ingredients on her front, her husband must be planning to make a carbonara pasta. She then decided to grab the utensils she’ll be using and started doing her thing in the kitchen.
Tristan, on the other hand, was busy looking at his wife who still looked glamorous even if she’s wearing an apron.
His chin was resting on his palms as a smile was forming on his lips, his long fantasizing was interrupted when his phone vibrated.
“Boss, Klaus Ferdinand is having a search party for her right now, he’s very livid,” his eyebrows furrowed at what he read from Julian Luke as he felt his patience being tested.
“Send to me all the exact details of what they’re doing right now, meet me in the usual spot,” Tristan texted before glancing at his wife who looked so carefree as she was humming while cooking her creamy white sauce.
Tristan just smiled before clenching his fists underneath his table, “I wouldn’t let anything happen to you wife,” he whispered that only he could hear.
He didn't wonder even for just one second why he’s so attached to this woman he just met and married last night, he just wanted to be there answering all her requests.
“I’m almost done!” he heard Clara beaming, so he just chuckled because she’s oddly cheery today.
It didn’t take Clara a while to set the pasta on the table before sitting right beside him, “Here,” Clara served her husband a special plate with a smile, “I know it isn’t much and I didn’t buy the ingredients, but this is to thank you for being kind to me,” she sincerely said.
“Oh no wife, you don’t have to thank me,” Tristan acknowledged that he nearly felt compelled to suggest that he should be the one thanking her for bringing light to his secret dark world.
“A-And after this is all over, you can file up a divorce if you ever found a wife that you’ll want for yourself for life, it’s alright for me,” Clara planted a bomb on the table, so Tristan stared at her with wide eyes, he felt like his feet were rooted in its place.
“Divorce? What do you mean?” Tristan felt like there’s something stuck in his throat after she said those words.
“I-I mean, of course, I know that you just accepted this because you wanted to help me with my issue,” Clara bit her lower lip while stirring the coffee she made for her husband.
“But I’m not going to do that wife,” Tristan sighed in relief before placing his palms on his forehead, he got worked up for nothing. That’s what she meant, he thought.
“It’s not safe yet, I just heard that Klaus Ferdinand is looking for you as we speak,” Tristan informed while gripping his hands underneath the glass table. It’s black and white combined in design.
“F-For real?” Clara felt anxious as she shook her cup off the table, then closed her eyes and checked her phone, which had many calls and texts from her aunt.
Clara didn’t have any courage to check on it as she placed it on her front, “They must be having a search party by now, I’m still amazed I slept soundly,” she murmured, which made Tristan chuckle.
“Oh um, let me have your phone wife,” Clara then confusingly handed him her phone, Tristan stared at it for a moment before looking at his wife, “Let’s change it,” Tristan then took a box near the kitchen island and gave it to her.
“Here, from now on, it’s going to be your new phone,” Tristan informed. Clara’s eyes widened for a moment as she shook her head and pushed the box away from her.
“I-I can’t accept that, y-you’ve given me so much already,” Clara couldn’t find the right words she needed to say as she bit her lower lip.
“You have to, wife, they could track you here,” Tristan raised her old phone, “You wouldn’t want that right? Plus if you have important contacts you could get it first before giving it back to me,” he reassured, so Clara got nervous once more at what she heard as she felt her palms getting sweaty.
“T-They could do that?” she heaved a deep long sigh, she thought she was already safe but she had to get worried about her well-being all the time.
“It’s alright, I wouldn’t let them most especially now that you’re my wife,” Tristan happily smiled before reaching out to grip her hands to calm her down, since he noticed her getting worked up about what she heard.
Clara felt safe after feeling the warmth of her husband’s hands, she felt teary for a moment as she shook her head to compose herself.
“You can keep my phone, I-I memorized the number of my friend there,” Clara smiled, so Tristan just nodded at her as he kept her old phone.
“Plus even if it is safe wife, I wouldn’t let you go,” Tristan mysteriously stated before letting go of his wife’s hand as he decided to raise his utensils, “But for now, shall we eat your heavenly made breakfast?” he beamed before he started munching on his plate. Clara just watched him do his thing.
He stopped and almost dropped the utensils after he tasted such a finer dish compared to what he ate at some fancy restaurant, “Wife, your cook is very…indescribable,”
Clara got worried for a moment as she tasted her dish. It tastes the same as what she usually cooks, “Does it taste that bad? I’m sorry, I don’t know how to cook fancy foods,” Clara sounded apologetic.
Tristan shook his head before laughing, “No wife, this tastes much better than what I eat outside, you’re amazing, can I have seconds please?” He offered his plate to Clara who looked surprised because she didn’t notice that Tristan had already finished the first one.
She chuckled as they shared their first breakfast as husband and wife, “Oh wife before I could even forget,” Tristan ran to Clara’s side who was busy cleaning the dishes.
Tristan took out a red rose before giving it to Clara, “Happy first breakfast to us both,” he formally stated, which made Clara laugh.
“Why are you always giving me things when I don’t have anything to give you?” Clara curiously asked, so Tristan tilted his head for a moment like he’s confused at what he just heard from his wife.
“What do you mean wife? You’ve given me a lot already,” after Tristan said those words, he left before running upstairs saying that he needs to get ready for work.
Clara secretly smiled as she finished washing the plates, she was a bit confused at what her husband was saying but she just let it be.
She stared at the rose that he gave to her and started looking for a vase that she could use to put it there nicely, “There, the table looks much better now,” Clara beamed after staring at the red rose placed on the center of the table.
“Wife! The guards will be outside, I’ll be off to work okay?” Tristan raised his voice after he descended downstairs while fixing his expensive Rolex.
Clara flinched before looking at him, she gulped for a moment after seeing such a very fine man that’s probably famous towards young women like her. Tristan looks clean and attractive at the same time in his formal black suit.
She thought that her husband looked truly familiar like she had seen it in the news or magazine before.
Shaking her head, she gazed at his black necktie and noticed it was a bit loose on the neck, “Oh wait,” Clara ran towards her husband and fixed it.
Tristan was caught off guard at what she did as he continuously stared at what she was doing, “There, all fixed,” Clara beamed before staring at her husband.
She just then realized that it was an awkward position to be in, “H-Have a nice day at work,” she stuttered before running back to the kitchen.
Clara didn’t hear Tristan’s reply as she heard the sound of the opening and closing of the door, “Thank you, wife! See you later!” Tristan yelled from the outside, which made her flinch.
She emotionally smiled as she stared at the red rose idly sitting on the vase placed in the center of the table, “It’s been a while since I heard see you later,” she mumbled before she started checking her new phone.
Clara’s a bit surprised that it’s an iPhone 4S Elite Gold, which costs more than 9 million dollars. She carefully held it and checked its features.
The expensive phone is handcrafted and customized, with 500 diamonds totaling 100 carats decorating the edge. The phone's back panel and the Apple logo are both made of genuine 24-carat gold. The logo likewise has 53 diamonds, and this one goes even further than his other two inventions by including an 8.6-carat diamond as the home button.
“W-What on earth? Does this phone truly exist?” Clara was surprised to the point that she didn’t want to use that phone.
She feels like she’s going to be in trouble if she goes out with it. Shaking her head, Clara decided to familiarize herself with her phone as she started to put Julie Anne Rose’s number.
Clara then realized that she hasn't informed her best friend about her current state, and most especially now that she’s married and some people are looking for her.
Just thinking about how her friend would react already depressed Clara as she stared intently at her phone.
“And she would be very furious if I didn’t tell her as soon as possible,” she claimed as she started dialing the number of her friend.
It didn’t take a while for Julie Ann to answer her call, [Hello? Who is this?] Clara immediately teared up after hearing the voice of her friend.
“I-It’s me, Julie, have you already left the city?” she calmly asked as she failed to hold back her tears. Just hearing her friend’s voice comforts her well-being.
[Clara? Did you change numbers? Oh, girl! No! I was just about to call you! Our flight was delayed and we’ll be leaving today at night,] she complained about it on the other line, which made Clara smile.
[Hey are you alright? You sounded a bit weird,] her friend added, which made her sigh.
“There’s something I need to tell you,” Clara nervously informed as she started narrating what just happened yesterday.
