Dylan’s Point of View
“That is the wildest thing, I’ve seen yet with you” Rowan told me after I got done with my shower that he had to take with me while making out with me the whole time. “How is it that I take your pain away? That’s wild.”
“It doesn’t surprise me; you always make me feel better. I suppose we should get ready, Lucky and Danny will be here soon. What should I wear?”
“I dunno, but please put something on”
“That’s so messed up Rowan!” I pretended to be offended.
“What!? You’ve been prancing around here naked all day knowing full well how badly I want to make love to you” he looked delicious as he bit his lip, staring me up and down.
“You should show me how badly you want me” I pushed up on my toes and licked his lips.
“It’s too late now, we don’t have enough time now.”
“We can have a quickie” I said as I climbed to his chest
“Oh sure, because the first time we have s*x in days is going to be vampire s*x and you think it’s gonna be quick? Ha! That’s cute babe.” I knew he had a point, but I was having too much fun torturing him “Please, baby, I’m so wet.” I whispered in his ear.
“I’m painfully aware of how wet you are” he struggled to keep his composure.
“Touch it.” I couldn’t help myself.
“Nope. Nope. That’s enough, you horny little treefrog. You know I can’t touch that right now.” He gently pulled me off his chest and tried to put me down, but I wouldn’t put my feet down.
“I can’t believe you just called me a treefrog, a horny one at that” I said as he held me out in front of him like I was radioactive.
“You’re climbing me like one every chance you get!” he erupted into laughter. I smirked at him as I lowered my feet
“You’re gonna pay for that.” I said.
“I already am. Let’s get ready”
I put rollers in my hair and put on a pair of short shorts and a cami while Rowan took his own shower, he came into my glam room as I shook my curls out.
“You’re stunning beloved” he picked me up and sat me on the vanity. “I fell out of bed when you called me for help in the shower, and I found this under the bed.” He pulled out a small jewelry box.
“What is it?”
Your present that I picked up when I was on the protection run. It must have fallen in all the chaos.” He held the box for me for me to open.
“Rowan! They’re beautiful!” I gasped at the huge diamond stud earrings.
“But nowhere near as beautiful as you” He put my earrings in my ears for me.
“I love you so bad baby” I kissed his tattooed fingers.
“Girl…Stop playin.”
“Don’t worry, you’re off the hook” I said as we both heard a car pull into the driveway. “Babe, I’m nervous. What if they don’t like me as a vampire.”
Danny’s Point of View
“I can hardly wait to see her!” I was positively giddy when I hopped out of my car, “don’t forget the box from Laa” I nodded towards Lucky as I rang the doorbell.
“Why bother ringing the doorbell, they know we’re here” Lucky said as he joined me at the door, carrying the box. When Rowan answered the door, I pushed past him without giving him a chance to say anything. “Where is she? Dylan, love, I’m here!”
“She’s a little nervous” Rowan said quietly as he looked up the stairs. “She’ll be down in a minute, she’s been looking forward to seeing both of you, in the meantime I have something to say to both of you.” My stomach dropped; I held my breath hoping he didn’t tell me I was the worthless s**t that I felt like. “Danny, I will never be able to express how grateful I am to you. If it wasn’t for you, Lucky wouldn’t have been able to help me turn her. You both saved my beloved, and me, because as you know, I was not going to live without her.” Rowan covered his eyes as he started to lose it thinking about Dylan being dead.
“Come here you big lugs” I pulled them in for a group hug, “This is a happy time, no more crying.” We collected ourselves and turned to see Dylan standing behind us.
“Whoa!” was all Lucky said before his chin dropped.
“Dylan, look at you!” I was mesmerized “You’re everything I thought you’d be and more!”
“Dylan is different, she is only the second of her kind, but for you to understand any of this we have to bring in the original.” Rowan said seriously, although he was beaming. “Are you ready beloved?” Rowan asked Dylan, she nodded as she sprinkled this and that into a mortar, she tossed in a cloth with blood on it and read words that were written on piece of paper that she took from the box that Laa sent and then lit the contents of the bowl on fire. Smoke filled the room and when it cleared, I felt I would faint.
“WHAT THE f**k!” Lucky said as he jumped from the couch.
“Danny, I’ve missed you so.” I tried to speak but nothing came out, Rebecca, the one and only Rebecca was not only standing in front of me, but she was speaking to me. I was overcome and burst into tears, it was no use trying to fight it, I was far too emotional.
“Pardon my rudeness, but who is this?” Lucky asked wide eyed.
“This is Rebecca” Rowan said proudly, “My maker and Dylan’s true mother.”
My head spun with every word that Rebecca spoke as she told us everything Dylan and Rowan learned at Laa’s the night before.
“I think Danny took to Dylan like he did because they’re related, in vampire terms.
“Wait a minute,” Lucky interrupted, “if Danny and Dylan are related, so are you and Danny! You’re like half brothers and sisters!” We all stared at each other.
“Holy s**t! You’re right!” Rowan said as he connected the dots
“I wondered how long it would be until someone put that together” Rebecca smiled at us.
“Well, of course you are, you’re certainly as insufferable as a brother.” I looked at Rowan.
“Brother!” He held out his arms to me.
“Don’t even think about it” I warned him, mainly so I didn’t fall apart again when he hugged me.
“Wait, so if we’re all kinda like siblings, does that mean I married my brother?” Dylan looked panicked.
“No, my dear, it doesn’t. Rowan is your true love and he’s also your maker, that supersedes everything else.” Rebecca kindly explained to her, “and even it that weren’t the case, in the vampire world that doesn’t carry the same condonations.”
“What do you mean married, as in past tense?” I asked
“Oh, yeah, we forgot that part. WE GOT MARRIED!” Dylan held up her and Rowan’s hands. “But don’t worry Danny, we’re still gonna have the big wedding but only we will know that it’s just for show.” I sat quiet and listened as she told Lucky and I about their impromptu wedding, how she giggled when she told us her wedding dress was Rowan’s t-shirt. “Are you mad Danny? Please don’t be mad.” She looked down at the floor.
“Do you know what I think?” I stood up and walked over to her, “I think I will have a hell of a time even coming close to planning a wedding as perfect as the one you already had.” I stopped myself from hugging her, only to spare her any discomfort that may cause.
“Thanks Danny, that means a lot, I mean it.” Rowan turned to Dylan “You gotta eat babe” Rowan said as he headed into the kitchen, he came back with four goblets of blood. “Watch this” Rowan said to us as Dylan drank her goblet, her eyes turned the most beautiful bronzy color I have ever seen.
“What!” Lucky hollered.
“That must be kept hidden for as long as possible from any outsiders, that alone will give Dylan’s identity away” Rebecca warned us.
“Pfftt. I got something for those power-hungry psycho’s right here!” Lucky barked as he got angry at the thought of anyone threatening Dylan or Rowan for that matter.
“I know this isn’t your fight brother but…”
“The f**k it’s not!” Lucky interrupted Rowan
“Here, here!” I stood up and lifted my glass, “all for one and one for all!”
“Indeed, the blood of the coven is thicker than the blood of the womb.” Rebecca said as we raised a toast to Dylan.
“Hey, Rebecca,” Rowan asked as he put his goblet down. “Is Dylan’s speed one of her powers?”
“Yes, it is, one of the many to come. Dylan, why don’t you show them how fast you are.” Rebecca said proudly.
