I sat at the table and played cards with Ember and her mates. I thought it was hard having her mated to Sam. That was nothing. Now she was mated to three others and they all had a romantic bond. At least with Sam, I knew it was not romantic, and he was not thinking about her like that. But now.
Victor was the one I had the most problems accepting. Not because he was a vampire, but because he was mated to Ember's human. Ember's human was always out, so she spent all her time with him. So any time I got with her was a big deal.
Like now watching her laugh and talk trash to all of us. I loved seeing her smile and happy.
