Chapter 40

1242 Words
Ami hasn’t been to a lot of godly domains, in fact so far she had had just three encounters that were godly and domain like at the same time and those were with Esu the trickster god of the underworld, with Osanyin the multi gendered deity of the forest, and now as well with Sango, her stepfather the god of war, fire and lightening and masculinity. So far Sango’s domain took the crown in appearance, Ami felt he had to have the aspect of the sky as well, because the castle they currently were was located in the sky. Well, thinking about it, lightening comes from the sky, and since Sango could generate lightening from even within himself and as well turn into one, then he had live in the sky as well. They had materialized at the huge gates of the castle which opened as Sango moved closer heading inside with Ami in tow. Ami was sure her mouth was hanging open all through the journey from the gates to the chambers, the large waiting room, the immense throne hall, then the beautifully adorned room he took her to. All was set and fit for royalty here, the colors: red, gold and orange were used to decorate the all white marble and tiles used for the whole building. It was bright, a bit too bright Ami thought. One more thing Ami notices was the silence and seeming desolation, there wasn’t a soul to be seen around. “Where is everyone” Ami asked as if she knew who “everyone” is. Sango chuckled his manly chuckle again “You can’t see them while its this bright in here” he answered and then he clapped his hands together loudly twice. The brightness everywhere dimmed down at that gesture and then Ami could see figures of people made out of light, male and female entities moving about. They resembled the air nymph with their see through characteristic, but there the resemblance ended, they moved at an invisible pace, one second they appear here then the other they are just gone in a flash. There were two in the room with her though, both are females from their appearance and Ami marveled at their being as she looked at them in their stable mode. “These two will help you with your needs, right now I believe you need to have a good bath and a comfortable sleep then we can discuss all you need done before any other thing” Sango said to her. Ami couldn’t argue much, she felt the same way, being shredded apart from the very core of one’s being twice in one day was taking its toll, even though the second time was more pleasurable than the first And then there was also the matter of her battle with Sango, a little greeting tousle he had called it but it had weighed her down a lot, more than she would even admit to him. Sango left the room for them, then Ami followed the light people to the place the took her for her bath. The tub was large enough for a cow to drown in, but it had resting places in it where she can sit or lay down and still keep her head up above the water. The water didn’t also look like water, it looked like cloudy milk, it was soft to the body before being wet, unlike the sharp wetness water gives. She was really experiencing the princess life here, ‘I could get used to this’ she thought to herself as she settled in the tub laying down after stripping from her clothes. One of the light people came towards the tub, but Ami sprang up and shouted “No!, wait! What are you doing?” she asked with obvious fear. “Attending to you ma’am, I’d scrub your body down for you” the light person said a bit shyly, she had probably never been asked what she wanted to do to a naked person in a bathtub before. But Ami had her reasons “Aren’t you made of light, maybe like a stable version of electricity or lightening?, Won’t that make touching water dangerous? Especially for me?” Ami asked with conviction. The light person chuckled and covered her mouth as it turned into laughter, “Our form may be made of light, but we ourselves aren’t totally and always light you know, we become lightening only when we wish to or when required by his eminence” she explained to Ami “Ohh, I see” Ami said although she didn’t seem fully convinced. Then as a show of good faith the light person moved closer slowly, raising one hand, then she slowly brought the hand down and into the water Ami was bathing in. Ami closed her eyes and braced for the shock of her life, but none came, then she opened her eyes and saw the light person partly immersed in the water as well. She picked up a soft sponge and started scrubbing Ami’s body, only then did Ami relax well. After the bath, Ami was led back to the room, and an assortment of clothes was in the wardrobe therein, now it was the turn of the other light person to select the perfect clothes for her. Amu declined all though and requested for an outfit just like the one Sango wore, still the wardrobe provided and she was clothed in tight fitted jeans and an extra large firm top that Ami was yet to learn that is called “bùbá”. Her hair was neatly combed and packed in a long pony tail, and she was left barefooted as well, Ami didn’t mind though. The floor was neither hot nor cold, it was the right texture as well, Ami started thinking if it was all a dream. Maybe she had been caught by a native charm and was lying on the ground hallucinating, that would be so bad, because she already loved it here. She asked the light people to take her around for a short stroll, she needed to have her fill of the entire place or at least most of its parts, especially if this would end up being a dream. The light nymphs obliged and took her around the castle, Sango was nowhere to be found on the common grounds so Ami figured he had gone in to rest as well. So she headed back in to rest too, she really needed the rest, as she laid on the extremely comfortable king sized bed, multiple thoughts rummaged her mind. Could she trust Sango enough to tell him about her encounter with the demon? True she had only just met him, but he had so far given her no reason for doubt, especially taking into consideration the conditions that bounded them together, she was after all the bastard daughter of his wife, the result of the affairs of a cheating wife. But he had disregarded that and welcomed her warmly and heartfelt, without deceit in his heart, she was sure he would be true till the end, so while she told him about the encounter with the demon, she wouldn’t divulge all information. By the time sleep came for her, it was as silent and unexpected as a thief at night. She drifted off to a deep sleep filled with dreams.
