Chapter Six: He Will Kill You

1037 Words
Avery's POV Hot, burning pain rippled through my entire body once I found myself waking up. Nope if this is what I'm going to feel then take me back to where I was just at...please? As I moved a hand up, I could not help feeling warmth cover in its warm embrace. Once the tips of my fingers connected with my talisman my body, even though everything was still aching, it relaxed. I felt at home when I held this thing in my hands, even my mother's perfume filtered the room I was in, but I knew it was just my inner self praying for a different outcome when I opened my eyes again. I jumped almost out of my skin as someone sat beside me on the bed; I winced once I registered that action made everything hurt more. No sudden movements, Avery. I told myself in my head. My chest tightened because I was too fearful to see who it was, I also couldn't help the cry I let out because of it. "Shhh" a male said softly. Something felt off the longer I held the talisman in my hand, I should not feel as drained as I do currently. So, I pushed my fear aside only so I could see what I was holding. Opening my tired eyes, I could stop myself from squinting. The sun was shining brightly in the window beside the bed, well that is why I felt extremely warm. The sun was shining right on me and I didn't mind one bit. The natural resources that the Earth gives off every day is very healing, and were exploding with magical properties. I looked at my hand that seemed to be clutching the necklace in a death grip; I finally found the strength to release it and see why it wasn't working like I was told it was supposed to. "No.." I mumbled lifting it up to see it better, I felt tears burning the back of my eyes when I took in the last thing I had from my people and family was broken. The dove's wing was broken off. A much larger hand covered both mine and the dove. Seeing the ruby sitting on his pinky finger, made my breathing nearly stop. And if the shockwaves I felt flowing from his touch didn't tell me who it was, then I don't know what did. I moved my eyes from his tanned hand that covered mine, only to see tattoo's the further up the arms I went. The design stopped at the elbow, where the grey button up shirt was rolled up. Don't admire him. He is holding me hostage, both him and his witch friend. But regardless my gaze still ended up continuing to move up. Once my eyes locked with his, a horrid feeling enveloped me, a scream slipped past all of my walls when I saw whose eyes was looking at me. "Quiet," his hand covered my mouth instantly. His muddy looking gaze holding mine, how did he find me? Moreover, why and how is he inside this castle of Alexei's? He has no clue if I lived or died so this had to be a nightmare. A nightmare that smelled like wet dog, I swear that was his natural scent. "Who locked this door?!!" a very familiar voice yelled on the other side. My heart was pounding in my chest, it sounded just as loud as the banging on the wooden door. The obsidian eyes that pierced my soul forced a whine to escape. "You survived by chance. My son shouldn't have died, neither of them." He spit in my face, as a growl slipped past his teeth as his canines push past his lips. "I am-" He slapped me forcing my head to turn to the side. I licked the blood from my lips and refused to look back at him. "Sorry? No, not this time, Avery!" Chills ran down my body when he said that. I heard the door crack as someone rammed into it. I was praying I was still dreaming, hoping an praying that he hadn't found me here so easily. "Your brother is dead, now since he can't repay your mistake that killed my boy four years ago, it is your job little witch!" I shook my head while also fighting back the tears. "Andrew already did what you wanted, he paid for my mistake already." I pleaded, my brother sacrificed his innocence for me, and now he wants more? "Yeah, well he couldn't give me what I need now more than anything, an heir for my pack." He leaned down, his gross breathing was hot on my face. "You forget the wolf that attacked you was also my son. So, you owe me two!" What a sick freak. He is a wolf; don't he have his one and only true love? A Luna? "No.." I cried and jumped when his fist hit the pillow by my head. "He will kill you." Alexei wanted information on the person that killed his wife and son. Well, all he has to do is break the door down and he could have him. I looked over at the door, I could hear many people outside of it, but none entered. Please come in here and get him off me, I was a kid who didn't deserve any of this. The older wolf said nothing as he tried to force me to kiss him. I used whatever energy I had to keep him from doing so, but he was so strong. With my talisman broken and the injuries I had I couldn't hold him off forever. I did the one thing I didn't realize I done until after I yelled his name. "Alexei, it is Carter-" A harsh hold around my neck forced me to stop. But since I got the name out, I knew that Alexei would do everything he could to get to him. And just as the thought appeared he let me go, hit me in the side of the head near my temple, causing my vision to darken with the force. Glass shattering was all that I heard before everything faded.
