Swordsman Takes a Quest

1700 Words
The day came to make an important decision. In the morning Dan sent the new artifacts to the auction and waited for the excellent items of equipment to quickly buy. The friends were counting on more than just the proceeds from the sale of valuable artifacts to make their plans come to life. Most of the loot from the Tower of Destiny was sold at the auction. The swordsman hurried to the square next to the Adventurers' Guild. He wanted to buy a few million experience points from people. Overnight Tom managed to raise two levels of the ring. It took 23 million experience points to do so. The clone only managed to catch twelve criminals. Then the alley began to get very excited and the bad players began to gather in large groups and search for the elusive killer. The two victims turned out to be inexperienced. But ten villains pleased the phantom. The friends realized that the ring needed to be upgraded to level 41. Then they would get a 50% boost in attributes. A significant reduction in time for a new spell casting will also become useful in completing the mission. But also players realized that they are talking about tens of millions of experience points. They decided to spend all their savings to quickly improve the most important artifact and aid in achieving goals. In the Square of the Lame Adventurer, Dan immediately warned a gnome of the Grab clan. The Baron would be glad to meet Master Gnograb at lunchtime and make a final statement about the unexpected quest. In the three establishments in the square next to the building of the Guild of Adventurers, groups of people often gathered who tried to conduct business according to the rules of the city. The swordsman's strange and generous act was already known. No one understood the man's actions. But most of the group leaders understood his words that the business of aristocrats in Grossroads was a special matter. The young baron's appearance was greeted with smiles. Swordsman Dan lived up to people's expectations. The swordsman made an important proposition at the Groseye's establishment. "Good morning, warriors. Good morning, people. Perhaps you know why I am here. I come with gold and I want to exchange gold for experience," Dan nodded his head with a smile in the direction of some of the players who were demonstrating their considerable status. "I don't have a problem going into the neighboring establishments to see our colleagues. I only have seventy-two thousand gold coins. I'm not implying anything. But I have heard that five companies of experienced warriors like to conduct business in a special way. Shall I trouble your colleagues?" "Not worth the trouble, young man," the gray-haired warrior stood up from the table. "A solid sum of money. We already have a decision on your shares. Six respected warriors are ready to accept a duel challenge with you. We can go to Duelist Park." Dan knew this player. A military man and a respected man. The young man liked him. Dan didn't mind and walked out of the establishment. He walked leisurely into the familiar park. On several benches, the players sat and chatted about duels. Occasionally dueling figures appeared in the meadows beside them. In this place, it was customary to first agree on the terms of the duel and only then make the challenge. Soon a group of men approached and immediately made their order. The man many called the General approached Dan. "This reminds me of a ridiculous show," grinned the General. "I sometimes think your spies have infiltrated even my squad. Seventy-two thousand is too good to divide into six parts. You have prepared beautifully, young man." "General, you are mistaken. I expected to meet representatives from five companies. Dragons. Europe. Pentagon. Russia. sss. Who turned out to be worthy of your attention?" "The Arabs," grinned the gray-haired player. "The Banner of the Prophet. These guys can act like civilized people. You have no beef with the Arabs?" "I'm for world peace and a dollar for everybody," the young man smiled. "Sorry about the crude joke. I don't want to deal with criminals. I've heard of Antarctica. With the rest of the people, I'm willing to cooperate." "That's fine, young man. Let's get down to business. Your gold will do well for our purposes," the general shook hands with the redheaded warrior who approached. "Hello, Gallagher. Are your boys ready to get twelve thousand?" The player shook the General's hand and held out his hand to the young man. "Hey, Michael. Hey, Dan. Of course, we're all done. Let's start the show. Dan, do you mind having an audience?" Dan gladly shook hands with one of the leaders of the European players. "I don't mind if you look at my techniques. I don't discuss my teacher's technique. The rest of the skills I learned in the Tower of Destiny. It's okay if you learn about the capabilities of this game." Dan made his way to the clearing and found himself in the ring of business meeting participants. One warrior stepped forward and Dan challenged him to a duel. He did not demonstrate the patron's skill, but there was no point in hiding the rest of his techniques. The opponent deliberately took off all his armor so as not to waste time in vain. A few swift and powerful attacks gave Dan the victory. The young man took a bag of gold coins from his inventory and gave it to a representative of the Pentagon organization. The Americans were the first to get their piece of the pie. Dueling with the rest of the participants in the exchange of experience for gold went just as quickly and quietly. People got some information and the strength of the swordsman's skills in this world. People got large amounts of gold. Dan gained a huge amount of experience points. The gluttonous ring absorbed the loot and the level of the artifact pleased the young man.   [My Precious. (Ring, Rank 6 - Epic). Level 41 - Level 100. Developed: 6212000/21376000. The reason for his passion for the hobbit folk is unknown. But legends hold many references to a wily trickster who could hide his true name!]   Dan sighed when he saw that the new ring level would require more than twenty million experience. Such a wild waste of gold would arouse the suspicions of the elders of Grossroads. But the even value of fifty percent improvement in the player's useful qualities caused pleasure. With that, it's already safe to go on a dangerous mission. Den Raven was not at all worried about possible failure and eternal imprisonment in a terrible place. The young man trusted Tom's words completely. A level 14 unkillable monster should not appear in this place. They had prepared for possible trouble and Dan had an excellent set of artifacts to face the dangerous boss. The swordsman was more concerned about meeting the dangerous gnome. The place of Master Grabbica was quiet and the young man made his way directly to the table where the important gnome was eating. "I have heard of interesting promotions. Why waste gold on Goldie? My folk can be useful if you need experience," smiled the Gnograb. "Then I will be misunderstood by the other respectable city folk. Let the Goldies enjoy the gold in their hands for a while. We are both well aware that they will give the gold to the city. I have come to accept your clan's quest. I'll try to be useful to the Grab clan," Dan said. "Try not to disappoint the gnomes, young swordsman," the gnome nodded his head. A familiar invitation to a dangerous adventure appeared before the young man's eyes.   [Warning. Quest Condition: Players must be at least level 14. Reward: Unconfirmed title Viscount. Unknown. Do you accept the quest? Yes/No]    "I accept it," the man whispered. "I hope it won't take long to get to the castle." The gnome laughed and slid a piece of paper toward the young man. "The Grab clan has lost influence in the castle of Zangar. But we have access to their ancient domain. This spell will allow you to get into the castle in an instant. It's complimentary." Dan didn't let himself smile when he heard one of the words the gnomes hated. Complimentary! Any gnome hated that word. The young man took a sheet with the portal to Castle Zangar and thanked the gnome. "Pleasure doing business with you, Gnograb. I won't spoil your appetite. Hope to see you again and soon." "Well said. I'll be interested in meeting you again and soon. Goodbye, human Dan," Gnograb raised his beer glass.   Dan Raven activated the spell and disappeared from the city of Grossroads.
