Jayden I don’t know why I felt so sorry for her. Seeing her run around, the dead dog pulled a string in my heart. I could somehow feel her agony. She barked so loudly that I couldn’t help my irritation. She kept shaking and pulling the dead dog. Even though it was obvious that the dog was dead and cold, she didn’t let go. She kept screaming and barking as if that could wake the dead dog. I knew that I shouldn’t be seen around her, but I just couldn’t bear to leave. At first, it was because I wanted to see how she helped the dog deliver the pups, and I was fascinated at how well she did, but this time I couldn’t leave because I felt pity for her. When I finally decided to leave, I remembered that she had nowhere to go. Since the Grayson mansion has probably burnt down to ashes. There would be no one to watch over them, and if they went back there, so, I decided to take her back to the pack. They’ll return to the Grayson mansion in the morning when things get sorted out. “This is the last time I’ll help you!” I yelled as I picked up the surviving puppies and prepared to leave. I looked back after walking a few miles and I noticed that the dog girl was still back there. She was digging the floor with her hands. Looks like she wants to bury the dogs. I needed to leave that place as soon as possible and to make that happen, I have to help her get the bodies on the ground. I shouldn’t be spotted here right now. Especially not with this strange creature. I was sweating profusely by the time I was done digging. We kept the dogs in the ground and covered them up. Only then did the dog girl move. I took her to the pack house and made sure she was well hidden in the cottage. The cottage is located in the forest behind the pack house. No one comes there except me, and I only go there when I need to focus and think clearly. “You can stay here until the Grayson settles the issue with their house,” I muttered as I set the other puppy down inside a basket. “Try to be quiet, okay? We don’t want people finding out what we have here,” I paused. “Well, except if you would like to lose them too,” I threatened, eyes on the puppies. She shook her head immediately and I knew that the message was well understood. I saw how much that dog meant to her. So, I’m sure that she would do anything to keep her puppies safe. “Alright then, I’ll take my leave now.” I immediately left the cottage after locking the door. I sighed in relief at the turn of things. I finally got rid of the abomination that the goddess chose as my mate. I returned to the pack house and went straight to my room, hoping to finally get some sleep. However, I found Melissa in my room. She was half-n***d on my bed. “You finally came back,” she sniggered as I got inside. “I was starting to think that you will be spending the night at the Grayson’s. “Why would I do that?” I asked as I took my shirt off. I couldn’t wait to get rid of the dirt on me. “You know because Elena was looking so beautiful today,” she got out of bed and took a sip from the glass in her hand. “You said it yourself, Jayden, didn’t you?” What the hell? Why would Melissa even think that I would waste my time on that ugly thing? “That was only a compliment, Melissa. So, quit being jealous and move on.” I hissed before marching towards the bathroom. Melissa’s tantrum is the last thing I need right now. I can’t wait to get some sleep after such a tiresome night. I opened the shower and let the water rained down on me. However, every time I closed my eyes, that dog girl was all I see. I hissed as I switched off the shower and cleaned my body. I grabbed a shirt and short, put them on before walking out of the bathroom. “So, how was she?” Melissa asked as I stepped out. “Who?” I raised my brow as I walked past her to go pour myself a drink. “You know who,” she chuckled. “I’m asking about the birthday girl.” No. Not this again! Why won’t she just drop this issue? “I told you Melissa, I wasn’t with Elena. I would never think of being with that ugly duckling!” I yelled. My anger was now speaking in my stead. “Then where were you?” She dropped her glass and came towards me. You left the party quite early, but you didn’t return home,” she crossed her arms across her chest. “Then tell me where you went!” Oh no. How can I tell her where I went? I’ll become the laughingstock if I do that. Besides, Melissa would never believe me. “Quit being such a nagging wife, Melissa, I need to get some rest.” I picked up the bottle of drink and gulped down the entire content. The drink tasted strange, but I didn’t care. I need an escape from this whole stress and this bottle ould probably give me that. I can’t get that girl out of my head and I can’t get Melissa out of my sight. So, I decided to go outside. As soon as the thought of going outside crossed my mind, I remembered the dog girl. Shit! I was supposed to get food for her. Without delay, I picked up my shirt and hurried out. “Going back to see her?” Melissa screamed after me. “Don’t you dare leave me here, Jayden!” she yelled as she struggled to get up. “I need you here right now! Jayden!” Ignoring her, I marched out of the house and headed toward the cottage. I opened the door slowly as I tried to hold my balance. I wonder what Melissa had missed in that drink and why it's making my vision so blurry all of a sudden, and why I’m craving a woman’s warmth. “Doggy,” I called as I realized that I didn’t know her name. There was no response, so I walked further in. I found her lying on the floor in the corner of the room, curled up like a ball, n***d and fast asleep. She had the puppies placed closely beside her as she slept. My jaw dropped as I saw her figure. Her flawless skin and her round butt. I could barely control a certain part of my body upon laying eyes on the epitome of perfection before me. If I didn’t know her earlier, I’d deny that she wasn’t the one. I mean, how could someone like Doggy possess such an amazing body? My eyes darkened as the last ounce of my sense of reasoning flew out the window. Without thinking, I pounced on her and parted her legs......
