[ Zach ] When my eyes fluttered open next, as soon as I registered the plain bland ceilings overhead, I knew I was in my room. The ache in my head was still lingering, and I laid there in bed blinking my eyes a couple times, wondering who carried me home from the creek, and then sighed realising it must be Taylor. It was Taylor after all. Not Anna. "Zach, you're up, son." A voice I hadn't heard since years made it's way to my ears, and I got up with a jerk to come directly face-to-face with my mother, who being only inches away from me, jerked backwards and then giggled at how I had startled her. "Mama?" The shock was written all over my expressions. It wasn't Raina. The lady I saw ahead of me looked a lot like my biological mother, but so much older than the last image I had of her. H
