Payback Time

‘What the hell was that kick? His strength doesn’t add up according to the reports.’ I rose from the rubble with my abdomen still stinging in pain after taking a kick from that guy when all of the sudden I heard a loud bam on the wall where I collided. I turned my head and saw that Kon got taken down by that guy again. ‘Fxck! That is why I told him that he doesn’t need to come with us since he undergone operation just yesterday. ‘Damn it!’ I grit my teeth in pain as that guy lets go of Kon and drops him on the floor unconscious. “So you are proud of yourself that you were able to beat him down again? A person who just undergone an operation just yesterday? How shameful!” I heard one of my subordinates trying to provoke him after seeing that I was back on my feet and just wanted to buy some time so that I can launch a sneak attack but that guy, did not get faze nor even twitch after hearing what my subordinate said. “Oh? I thought he had already recovered after seeing his energetic mouth run around the place, was that not the case?” he replied without any changes in his expression.

               Without any warning, the long haired guy of the three suddenly attacked Rain when he extends his hand and muttered “Boom.” And in that instant the place where Rain was standing exploded. “Did you think we are all pushovers? Huh?!” a huge grin crept on his face after seeing that he directly hit Rain with his special ability. Hannah and Freya were about to scream Rain’s name when I immediately covered both of their mouths but even with what I did they still struggled to removed my hand from their mouths. “What the hell are you doing?! You want get yourselves killed? If those guys know that you are somehow related to Rain then they might use you as hostages!” I whispered on their ears as quiet as I could as I also tried to suppress my raging anger towards them. “If you want to die then go ahead but bear in mind that there are still civilians here, you can proceed with your death wish after everyone is cleared do you understand?!” I accidentally glared at the both of them when I could no longer hold my anger. ‘Damn it! I nearly lost my composure there for a second. I have my head full with the identities of these guys and here these spoiled rich brats adding to my head ache- oh! I’m so wanting to squish them!’ I cured in my head as I slowly controlled my breathing.

               ‘My attack is successful’ I turned my head to the others and saw that they are going to use their abilities in any moment. “You sounded really cocky earlier so let us give you a lesson today.” Franco said as he extends his hands and focused his special ability onto the place where that guy was standing after seeing that he was not blown away by the blast. The cloud of dust and smoke dispersed and the view of him standing in his place and stuck due to his heavy body. After seeing him incapacitated, Gregory jumped off in front of him and punched Rain Ambro with his diamond hardened skin.

               *BAM!*

               “HEUK!” I grit my teeth in a slight pain that I felt on my chest when that guy with the diamond-looking arms punched me on the chest. ‘That guy, he purposely let go of his gravitational control on me when his comrade’s punch was about to land. Looks like they were not all talk, my hands and my feet were entirely heavy to the point that even breathing is hard but thanks to my second card my consciousness persisted.’ Looking back to them I saw how far I was launched by his punch alone and form the corner of my eye I saw the one I knocked down on the wall throw the chain towards me. I wanted to move immediately by then my body became heavier just like earlier, I turned my eyes on them and saw them flashing a smirk towards me. The chain wrapped me as expected as he again deliberately slam me to the ground violently. Even thought my blood was splattering around the floor and the walls along with the horrified expression on the faces of everyone who saw what was happening, even Aron who was confident in my skills is on a state of shock. ‘I did not expect this to happen.’ Is what I can tell based on the expression on his face. I felt a lot of broken bones in my body that if someone besides me got treated like this will definitely lost their lives in an instant but due to my second card, the bones in my body as well as the blood that is flowing inside my body is being refilled and my bones bending back to their original position and shape like nothing happened but this is all without my enemies knowing. All that they know is that I am currently gravely injured to the point that I can’t move and that explains why he did not continue to slam me on the floor but the gravitational force that forces me to stay in my place is still in effect.

               “Where is that cocky expression earlier, I thought you were some big shot but it turns out that you are no more different than the others that we have faced so far.” Nelson said with a grin on his face. Rain Ambro stayed lying on the floor. Well, I can’t blame him, I violently slammed him to the floor a couple of times to the point that I can hear his bones breaking and his blood decorating the floor and the walls. ‘He is surely finished now. No one can withstand that kind of injury and still come out alive after that.’ I thought to myself as the pain in my abdomen subsided but my words were entirely wrong, every word of it. He rose from the floor a little weakened even after all that happened, I got a little shocked after seeing him do what we thought is currently impossible but then Gregory suddenly launched his attack yet again. His diamond-like skin glistened under the light as it travels right on Rain Ambro’s chest when all of the sudden a blue light enveloped him negating Gregory’s attack entire with his fist bouncing off  the blue-colored box.

               “A barrier?” Gregory gasped when his fist bounced off. We then turned our heads to look for the user and saw a young female extending her hand with a terrified expression covering her face. The others beside her had the most terrified expression from all of them as the man beside her shouts her name in a totally terrified tone. “Don’t hurt Rain anymore!” she yelled as she continues to cover him with the blue box barrier. The others beside her were terrified when they saw that we are staring at them and wanted to get away immediately but I restrained them. “You’re not going anywhere.” I said as walked towards them. ‘Look at them all, they look really terrified. The fact that she called him by his name suggest that she and that guy had some history, boy how lucky can we be?’ a smile crept on my face as I approached them after seeing their legs trembling in fear. “Looks like we are going to have a hostage, thanks to you we can torment that guy even more.” I said as I caress her chin.

               ‘Damn it, you guys know that I have the ability to recover so why did you risk yourselves?!’ I clenched my fist in anger after seeing what happened. ‘This is enough- I will finish this before other people gets hurt.’ I can feel my heart getting warmer and my arms and legs immediately full of vigor like I have been reborn again. The guy with the chain that is wrapping around me felt my struggle and wanted to slam me to the ground again but before he can do that I released a really violent lightning travelling towards him through the chains. “Hey i***t, you do know that metal are conductors of electricity right?” I asked before my violent lightning reached his hand and then.

               *BZZZZZT!* *CRACKLE!* *CRACKLE!* *BZZZZZZT!* *SHHHHH!*

               He danced a free-style hip hop the moment my lightning reached his arms and then fell on the ground just after a few seconds. The others were alerted by what I did, that’s when I feel the gravity pulling me to the floor but before that could happen, I pointed my finger towards him no- to be precise, the metal behind his back.

               *BZZZT!* *CRACKLE!* *PSSSSH!*

My invisible attack immediately bore a hole on his chest as his blood splattered everywhere just like what happened to me earlier. His lifeless body feel on the ground with the bewildered expression on his face before he died.

*THUMP!* *THUD!*

“Franco! Nelson!” the one with the diamond-like skin yelled as he charged towards me defenselessly. ‘Now that the pest with the gravitational control is gone, it’s payback time.” I said with a cold tone as I face his charge without any doubts but then a few chains wrapped on the arm of the three remaining members, one to the one I electrocuted earlier, one to the one who charged towards me, and on to the last member who I did not get to know his ability. They were then pulled to the origin of the chains, the one I slammed on the wall earlier, he jumped towards them like someone who would do a chest bump to his friends. Even so, it did not stop me from attacking.

*FWOOSH!* *CRACKLE!* *CRACKLE!* *CRACKLE!* *PWOOOP!*

They all vanished into thin air as well as my lightning that I decided to use as an attack. ‘Teleportation. That bastard, to have something like that.’ I was a little upset when I saw them escaped with my very eyes but to think that they would leave their comrade just like that. ‘Well, it’s not entirely a loss since we get to have a higher ranking officer left. But next time I need to be careful and evaluate their skills.’ I whispered to myself as I stare at the corpse of their former comrade.

The four teleported back to their headquarters with all the sizzling sound that their bodies created, the lower ranking officers who was able to distinguish their identities immediately called for immediate medical attention.

“What are their condition doc?” Shade asked when the doctor left the ward. The doctor stared at him with a blank expression like he was blaming the leader for what happened to the group. “All of them suffered a three- degree burn, especially Franco, based on what I can tell, he looked like he had been struck by lightning not once but twice. The other also suffered the same thing but only once but it is still strong enough to put them to a coma. It must have been shocking- no it definitely is shocking, whatever you are telling these bunch to do you better stop before it’s too late or else their life would end far sooner than mine.” The doctor replied with an angry tone as he slams his record book on the receptionist’s table. ‘They were that injured? I was told that Nelson was not among them that had returned, were they not able to retrieve him back?’ the leader thought when the doctor made him shut his mouth without complaining. ‘Rain Ambro, you are strong.’ He whispered to himself as he watches his squad through the ward window.
