A chill shivering over her skin woke Flic up and she groaned as she peeled her eyes open. Her head was heavy, fogging her mind as she tried to coax it to wake. Her whole body ached but, compared to the last time she had woken in that bed, she felt like a million dollars. There was a dull throb thumping in her leg and a stiffness to her shoulder, that she’d have to massage out, but the rest of her felt as good as new. Exhausted, but new. Another chill crawled down her back, the warmth that had been pressed against it the night before was gone. Flic wrapped her arms around herself and tucked the covers under her chin, trying to lock in her own body heat. Damon’s scent was still lingering in the room with her, and she rolled to where he had laid, burying her nose into the pillow he used. As
