They swam together in the depths of the water. It was an amazing new journey that Abraham never thought he would be entangled in. It was beautiful and sweet and he enjoyed every moment with her. They emerged after a while laying on the embankment embracing each other as they basked in the sun. "That was so amazing! I don't think I have ever done anything like that before. It's like seeing for the first time. I never knew I would be able to do that." He sat up hovering over Alana as he spoke.
"It was amazing! I am so glad we could do it together." She leaned up placing her lips on his and kissing him softly. Her eyes no longer glowing a brilliant purple. "I didn't change this time when I was in the water. I don't know why." She lifted up breaking the contact she had with Abraham. Looking over her body with confusion."Why wouldn't I have changed?"
"Maybe it is because you are going to shift soon. After your first shift, we can come here again and see what happens." She looked at him still a little concern on her face.
"Yeah, maybe. I wish I was taught more about what would happen when mated. I feel like I have been left in the dark. I mostly stayed to myself and away from my father." Abraham felt sadness at her words. The thought of not knowing about herself and what would happen made his heart ache for her.
"We can look in the library. There are books on sirens in there. Not very many but maybe there would be something we can learn with them?"
"you have books in your library about sirens?" She was intrigued. She knew that her species was very protective of their secrets. Many even now did ot know much about them. It was her fathers doing. He liked other species fearing them with the unknown. He knew fear gave him an advantage.
"Yes a couple. Like I said there isn't many but we can look. I have never actually read them but we have a library with something on every species. Mt parents were pretty big on knowledge. They wanted the kingdom to be able to have as much of it as they could posess. My mom said it gave them power."
"How did they come about the information in the books?"
"I don't know excatly. I know they have lived a very adventerous life. After Liam had been kidnapped our lives changed and they poured themselves into knowledge. I think it kept their minds occupied to not think about how sad they really were. You will get to meet them soon. They are good people. They were ruled with fairness and love. They believed it was the only way to have peace in the kingdom."
Alana stood up brushing herself off. Looking over the waters calm surface Abraham could see a sadness take over her features. She gave him a weak smile when he came to her side."I wish my father ruled like your parents. He wasn't always like this. When my mother was alive he was different. When she passed he became hard. Ruled with fear. He enjoyed the fear others had. He said it gave him power. If my father finds me..." Her voice trailed off as silence fell upon them like a thunder. They understood what her father would do. They knew he wold be cruel and it would be dangerous. Abraham snaked his fingers in hers.
He was holding her hand in his willing her every bit of strength he had. He would be strong for her. he would hold her up in her darkest days. Abraham knew he would never let her stand alone. "I will always be here for you. I will never let you do this alone." He meant every word he spoke and every word his he didn't speak out loud. He pulled her to him holding her close. Not wanting to let her go. He could feel her through their bond. Her feelings rushing into him like a flood gate that had opened.
She shed tears, letting them fall like a water fall. Allowing herself to cry out all her sorrows and pain from the past. Shedding her anger along with it. After a while she was silent sobbing sounds no longer coming from her. He leaned in kissing the top of her head. "how can a father be like this to his children? My sister was forced into mating and she had no choice. She helped me get away so I wouldn't have to be forced like she was. I just can't understand why he wouldn't want happiness for his children?"
"It might be hard for him to get past his own unhappiness. All I know is that I will fight right next to you. I will die trying to make sure you are happy, and some day if we have kids of our own, I will make sure their happiness is a priority. You are a part of them and I couldn't imagine not wanting that for them." There was a sudden burst of cool wind that swept across the landscape blowing Alanas hair. She could feel it's message as she closed her eyes. She could hear her sister reaching out to her.
Run. The wind whispered into her ear. Her eyes fluttered open as she looked into Abrahams deep green eyes. "My sister sent me a message. She said to run. I think he may have found me Abe. I just put everyone here in danger. We need to get back to the palace. The longer we stay near the water the better chance he has to locate me. I haven't cut the link from my people yet." They rushed back to the palace heading straight for their suite. They changed quickly getting ready to talk with his sister and her mate. they needed to prepare for what might be coming. Even if they weren't entirely sure what exactly to expect. He knew he would fight to the death to protect his mate, his Queen.
"We need to think about your coronation ceremony. I think the sooner the better since oyu would have the kingdom backing you as their Queen. My Queen." His eyes were almost pleading for her to agree. He wanteed her to feel safe and protected. She was his Queen and essentiall the Queen of the people now that they had accepted their mate bond. He knew they would protect her and keep her safe like he would. the Queen was the heart of a kingdom.
"Will they even want me after knowing what kind of danger I bring? This might be too much. My father won't be merciful. He is brutal. I can't bring this to them." She stepped away from him putting some distance between them. She was starting to shut down. Abraham sensed she was in crisis mode and he reached out to her pulling her into his hard chest. He wasn't about to let her run away. He knew he wouldn't survive if she did.
"Shhh, I'm not letting you go Alana. I need you like i need to breathe. We can do this together. you are my Queen. Please let me help. Don't leave me." He placed a kiss on top of her head. Praying she would want to stay.
There was a long silent pause between them. Neither of them broke apart form each other. He could feel the rise and fall of her chest as she waited to answer him. His heart was pounding hard as he waited for her to reply, dreading the answer he might get. Alana finally pulled back from Abraham looking up at his face. She looked at every chiseled feature of his face. A face she had grown to love in such a short amount of time. He ade her feel safe and alive in a way she hadn't felt before. Taking in a deep breath she knew he was waiting on her to reply. "what if they don't want me?"
Abraham smiled. He knew they would. He also knew he would run with her if they chose to not accept her the way he had. He had always put his duties before everything. His loyalty to his people had made him sacrifice so much and this was not something he was willing to sacrifice this time. he would fight with her and for her and nothing would stop him but death. He had waited for too long to find his mate. To find his other half of his soul. he refused to let it go without a fight. he wasn't letting her go. "Then we run together. I would give it all up for you. You are my Queen no matter what. Title or not." She knew he was swerious. There was no faltering in his voice. He owuld run with her and give up everything for her.
She took a long ragged breath. Panic had crept into her mind. "You would give this all up to be with me?"
Leaning down into her ear, his voice seductive and dangerous. "Kitten, I would give up my life for you." Chills escaped down her spine causing her to shiver in the delicious threat behind those words. She could feel herself light with fire as his voice seductively made its way through her. Her brain becoming frazzled as the memory of them mating danced around her head. He lifted his head sniffing the air.
The air thick with her budding arousal and he was swimming in the pure delight of it. "I will chase you to the end of the Earth and back. I would find you no matter what realm you are in little kitten." She had become his prey. His temptress. She knew he would find her. She knew he would chase her. There was no doubt in her mind he would find her and the thought of it made her more aroused and ready for him to pounce on her like a lion to the kill. Alana knew there was no where she could hide and she didn't want to. She loved this side of him. She loved the feel of it all like a drug addict she ran from his embrace up the stairs, Abraham close behind her. "I can smell you little kitten, and it smells so good."
