The plan was to beat him at his game. But this was next to impossible for Iorwen because she has never even talked normally to a guy let alone flirt. Laurel was the expert in this area but asking for her help would be raising questions.
Iorwen did realise one thing about Tristyn Moore, as much of a flirt or playboy he was , the boy carried some pain within him. She saw some harsh light in his eyes sometimes and she wanted to find out the secrets he was hiding.
No, she was not the kind to care or worry about others but the reason only she could see him bothered her as if.... they actually were fated. She shivered just at the idea of this and not pleasantly. She hated this fated together crap.
She sat fiddling with her phone mustering courage to text him.
“Stop thinking, just do it already!” Rachel said sitting down beside her.
“What?” She asked rather sharply.
“You want to call someone or text, so stop thinking and do it.” She said taking a sip from her juice bottle.
Iorwen was amazed at Rachel’s observing power.
“Who is it?” Rachel asked, as expected.
“No one, you know I don’t do calls and texts.”
“Is it a guy Nin?” Rachel asked her eyes widening.
“Rach, like I said no one.” She stated sternly ending the interrogation.
But Rachel was also her friends since childhood and Iorwen’s glare and temper doesn’t work on her.
“It is a guy; you are getting defensive and angry.” Rachel deducted thoughtfully.
“Tell her about me.” Another person occupied the seat next to her, almost making her jump in surprise.
She groaned arching back her neck in frustration. This was so not happening to her.
Tristyn Moore was sitting next to her and on the other side was her over attentive friend.
Her eyes lazily travelled over him and appreciated his faded blue jeans and navy blue hoodies with a skull mark in front. He was looking so cool yet incredibly hot.
“Nin, earth to Nin. I am talking to you, what are you staring at?” Rachel asked , her eyes searching for thing Iorwen was so intently staring at.
A devious smile appeared on Tristyn face when Rachel practically announced Iorwen ogling him.
“You can’t keep your eyes off me Senorita, that’s a wonderful change.” He said in a seductive whisper as if Rachel could hear him.
She shifted uncomfortably in her seat. It was strange how she was so very dangerous to others around and yet felt weird and incoherent around him.
“You have to come to mall with me.” Rachel said shaking Iorwen’s shoulder.
“I will if you buy me a book as bribe.” Iorwen replied instantly.
Rachel rolled her eyes as if she knew that was coming.
“I can get you as many books as you like, perks of being invisible.” Tristyn offered.
Iorwen tried to control her anger with him messing with her like this when she couldn’t say anything in front of her friend.
“I will go now and don’t think your silent treatment will distract me from the earlier topic of discussion.” Rachel gave her the warning eye.
Iorwen nodded in a sign of defeat. If Rachel suspected Iorwen just talked to a guy, she would make a big deal out of it.
“What the f**k Tristyn?” Iorwen now turned her attention to Tristyn who smirked at her.
“You have beautiful friend, both of them.” He said with smirk still on his face.
“Well, at least you are not totally blind and have good taste.” She said laughing dryly.
“I have great taste Senorita, I like you.” He answered.
Another unexpected statement that took Iorwen’s breath away. She coughed to hide her discomfort.
“Why are you this way?” She asked suddenly at an attempt to get to know him better.
Tristyn lost his smirk for a moment and his raised his brow in a question, a gesture simple yet hot.
“So amazingly charming and irresistible?” He asked playfully knowing full well what she was asking.
She must have responded with a harsh comment but she saw the sadness in his eyes, too deep but sadness nevertheless. It was sort of interesting how he smiled on the front but something was wrong with him. She felt the empathy for him.
“No, so amazingly deceptive?” She contradicted.
Tristyn was amazed at the seriousness in her tone.
“What are you trying to do Senorita, reach to the depth and steal my heart?” He asked the question in a teasing manner but his voice reflected the actual question.
He was starting to get on Iorwen’s nerves. She was trying to help, she was trying to listen to him but all that boy wanted was romance and flirting.
She tried the oldest trick in the book and got up to walk away praying that he would stop her.
She was after all trying to play the playboy.
Gratefully his surprisingly warm set of hands gripped her wrist and a wave of shock went through her. His touch was even more electrifying than his intense looks and sexy voice.
“Wait, please sit down Senorita, I didn’t mean to offend you. No, frankly I like annoying you but I never want you to walk away from me.” His words were filled with unfathomable sincerity.
Iorwen had to shake the spell he was casting on her, she was being played by him and quiet well she had to agree.
She sat down and waited for him to say anything.
“Why are you single?” He asked.
She exhaled sharply at his question but obliged with an answer.
“Because I am a non commitment and non romantic BS tolerating girl.” She stated truthfully.
It was not like she couldn’t be with a guy or that she was waiting for mister right, it was just that she was bad at this, loving someone forever and ever. It was not in her nature to open up to someone, to trust someone completely and then try to look pretty to them every living second.
“I think you are scared to give in Senorita, once you find the right guy you will love him.” He said softly.
Tristyn was surprised at himself for saying such words out loud, not only they were not true but also not his type of words.
“Crap Moore, this is madness, waiting for the right guy and trusting someone. I can never love someone more than myself.” She stated sternly.
Tristyn smiled at her and shook his head.
“Haywell you surprise me.”
“Glad I amuse you Moore, I was born for your entertainment.”
“It seems so.” He mumbled the words to himself.
The girl didn’t like him even as friends, she was blunt and rude and not to add the only girl who could see him. She might have been born just to entertain him.
“Now my turn to ask question, why are you invisible?”
But her luck ran out at the school bell rang. It was time for class.
“I don’t want my Senorita to be late, go to the class.” He insisted with his adorable dimpled smile.
Iorwen decided to ditch the class and follow him. She had done it many times and she needed answers. It was starting to creep her out how she was so calmly hanging out with an invisible, sexy yet invisible guy.
She followed him.
“Iorwen, what are you doing?” He asked now genuinely surprised.
“I am coming with you genius.” She said falling in step with him.
He looked utterly shocked but then after a while a smile spread on his face. Iorwen grumbled silently for giving him the wrong idea but she didn’t give away her discomfort.
“This is progress; you are getting attached to me.” He said obvious jubilant over the fact.
“I want to see the place where you live.” She said confidently, guessing she might get some answers there.
It all started with the damned haunted house which she think might have been really haunted since the evil spirit was now visible to her and only her.
“You are going too fast Senorita, first you kick my ass and now you want to go to my place. What is the catch?” He asked smiling evilly as this while.
“No catch Mr. Invisible, I am just doing what you have been begging for so long.” She said to defend her behaviour.
“But I am a gentleman, I will first take you to a proper date.”
“I am not dating you Moore, get over yourself.” She said indignantly.
“So are you going to use me for s*x and then throw me away.” He said with a feigned shock and hurt.
“HAHA! You wish.” She said almost smiling to see the look on his face.
“yeah, I actually do.” His voice all soft and low.
She trembled again, completely out of her own will her heart thumped uncomfortably.
She gathered her courage which was usually very active when he was not around and grabbed his hands trying to drag him with her.
The pulse of heat on the touch almost made her weak and she decided not to see his face lest he saw how affected she was by him. She hated being affected by someone else.
“Fine then we will go wherever you want.” She said trying to make him comfortable around hr enough to let out the truth.
“You are very generous today Senorita, I am scared.” He said covering his chest with his hands.
She smacked his arm hard, feeling drained every second dealing with him.
“Fine, fine, let’s go to Moon Hill.” He said raising his hands in defeat but smiling all this while.
Moon Hill was a little hill in town after crossing a small forest. From there the moon could be seen as if it was next to you. It was place where parents would not usually allow their children to go after dark.
She got in her car and Tristyn followed her.
“You said you will not drive me anywhere.” He teased.
“I am a smooth liar.” She said shrugging off without any embarrassment.
They drove in silence except the periodic humming of Tristyn.
Iorwen stopped her car in front of forest entrance since she couldn’t take her car with her in the forest. It was around two mile walk to the Moon Hill crossing the forest.
“So do you want to go inside or just sit here?” She questioned hoping he would choose the second.
“Walk with me in the forest, just for a little while.” He actually requested kindly.
She nodded without thinking completely charmed by his sexy voice.
It was cold and she shivered as she entered even colder forest.
“You are cold.” He observed.
When she didn’t say anything, he smirked thinking something.
Her eyesbrows lifted in a silent question to know the reason behind his laugh.
“You do not dress like a girl, I hope you know.”
“I dress to keep me covered and comfortable. I don’t care what others have to say to this.”
She shook her head and winced mentally for being down right blunt with him. She was supposed to get the truth out of him.
“What kind of girls do you like?” She asked with a really fake smile.
This was something she had seen her friends do while talking to guys.
After a while of staring at her, Tristyn just chuckled.
“I like girls who are beautiful, dress pretty, laugh and smile, delicate and well mannered.” All the while he listed the qualities his eyes searched through her face for any sign of hope.
“Oh.” Was all she said, really poor at small talks.
She realised she was opposite of what he liked. This should have made her happy but it kind of disappointed his beauty over personality choice. He was such a playboy.
Then how she is even supposed to flirt when she didn’t come in his to-date category?
Ideally her hand lifted to tie up her long red hair in a twisted bun.
“Ah! And did I mention I like the girls with wine red hair and amazing green eyes?” He said now really close to her, his eyes gazing into her green ones.
Momentarily Iorwen stopped breathing; her eyes stuck on that Oh so beautiful blue eyes.
She had to remember that she was here to trap him and not the other way round.
“Umm.. yeah well...N-Now you mention it, I-I might know someone like that.” She tried a lame attempt at flirting and miserably failed.
It was not in her to talk much less sweet talk and flirt with anyone. She was the strong badass of her school, it was actually amazing how she was stammering in front of an incredibly hot guy.
My bad luck that he is invisible.
But trusting her visibility to guys around, she knew that there was a catch to such handsome guy flirting with her.
Tristyn eyes widened and he had a certain realisation. One end of his delicious lips lifted in a crooked grin as he sauntered like a predator towards her. There were many options for Iorwen; scoff and walk ahead, kick his shins, or just stand her ground. But her rough self was frozen on the spot. This has never happened before, she was pro at handling hooligans and bad boys.
She stepped back and her back hit a tree. All this while she held his gaze not wanting to break it.
“Senorita, are you trying to play the playboy?” He asked with that devil of a smile and his dimple.
“It’s very dangerous to poke a sleeping lion Senorita, you have no idea what I might do if you will try to lure me with your charms.” He said a in husky sexy tone closing the distance between them.
He bent his head down to the nook of her neck and grazed his nose playfully.
She shivered pleasantly and bit her lip to stop the sigh from escaping from her mouth.
He kept nuzzling her and planted a light kiss across her jaw. He rested his one hand on the tree while other rested light as feather on her waist.
“Why were trying to flirt with me when you are so bad at it?” He said almost like a whisper in her eyes.
His almost insult snapped her back to her senses and she harshly pushed him away.
Her breathing was heavy and she knew her ears must be shade of tomato. Good things her cheek didn’t blush that easy.
“Jerk, I warned you not to touch me. This meeting is over and when you learn some manners, then we will talk, playboy.” She said angrily, mostly at herself.
She said the last word disdainfully.
But Iorwen learned a lesson, it was the stupidest idea to fool him. It was really dangerous to play the playboy because right then she felt overwhelmed and rattled inside out!
She had to get rid of the boy some other way before she doesn’t want to.
