All day I was restless, tossing and turning in my bed. I had turned off both of the phones, wanting nothing more but silence. I needed to think, but really, who was I kidding? I heard what Kalia said. I heard what my father said, and I heard what Lucie said. I knew, deep down, what I needed to do…only I wasn’t sure if I could live with the consequences. All and all, it led down to two choices. Kalia, or Lucie. Was this the part of the sacrifice in the prophecy? Would I have to sacrifice one or the other? For some reason…I wasn’t sure it was. The sacrifice, it seemed like something deeper. Like…it was meant for more than one person. Was this my sacrifice then? Did Lucie have a sacrifice as well? Did the other protectors?
