Chapter Three

Chapter 3 (Ball Night)

Samara POV

Steve opened the door for us and we got out of the limousine, walked into the theatre building.

“What do you think he wants to see you here for? Do you think his trying to audition for a part on one of the shows here?” he let out a laugh and said “I will serious buy everyone in the kingdom to come and watch him humiliate himself.”

I was about to answer him when Josh walk in from one of the rooms followed by one of my trusted woman Issa.

She bowed and said “Your Grace” and just nods to her and said

“Have you found any lead regarding the stone commander?”

“No your grace we searched every place that your grandparents told us the late Princess use to visit and the last place she lasted stayed and still found nothing”

I turned around and gazed away from them and started to zone out. I have been searching for the stone since the day I was allowed to leave the palace by myself, or in my case with Steve driving me and looking after me. Which was when I was 11 years and got nothing from my search?

Where could she have hidden it, and what is so special about that stone that she got killed for it?

Will I ever find it? I asked my grandparents they also don’t know anything about the stone, they said that my birth mother never shared anything with them.

She kept to herself and never shared much with anyone, but apparently she did share with her sister which also died when I was four years killed by some obsessed Alpha so my luck just keep on running out.

“Issa, is there any leads regarding my pawn?” I turn to look at her in the eyes. Issa was sent by my grandmother to come and protect me but I decided to make her my commander since my grandparents also send few of their warriors to come and protect me. So she is more like my warrior head or beta since she is always taking care of the warriors when I am playing princess.

“Your grace, Harper’s team manage to track him down. I told her to keep an eye on him and dig more dirt on him and his pack.” She ended bowing her head

“Well at least one thing is working out for me.” I said looking at everyone in the room.

“Ahhh Josh before I forget, I was sent here to give you the command from your queen.” Now she command you to wear formal tonight not what you normally wear “Denim” or else she will escort you herself from the palace.

Josh let out a laugh and say “The queen never disappoint.” “Now I guess it my turn to give out my report.” I nodded and walked in to the room they walked out from when they heard us coming in.

“You were right Sam; it looks like the rouges you killed last night weren’t the only ones. Jakob’s men picked up a trail and found few near their pack, and they are not the only one even old John’s pack found few rouges around their boarders.”

“Jakob informed me that the King of werewolve is in town and they were summoned to Olivia hotel this morning to discuss these rouge attacks, so I guess I will hear from him once the meeting is over to hear what the King had to say.” Suddenly I was interested on the werewolve king…I wonder what he looks like arggg… Samara will you just get a hold of yourself.

“Thank you Josh, is there any other thing that needs to be discussed?” I looked at everyone around the table and no one said anything.

“issa you may go back to everyone and tell them I will see them tonight” she stood up and bowed and walked out of the door now I was left with Josh and Eddie.

“Jojo, I thought you invited us here so that we can watch you play peter pan” said Eddie and started his laughing episode

Josh just glared at him and rolled his eyes at him

“Eddie, how you are you not playing womaniser right now I don’t know! Or you decided to give ladies’ broken hearts a break and I don’t know about it?”

“Says the man that woke up from a threesome” Eddie snorts and looked at me

“Sis are you okay, you seem to be at your own jungle right now?”

“Yeah am okay…Josh do you know the name of this king that summoned Jake and old John?”

He just shook his head as no…

After everything was dealt with at the theatre; Eddie and I got back in the car and went back home.

The rest of the car was filled with complete silence. Steve broke the silence by informing us that the queen called about three times asking us to get back to the palace.

“That woman is more devoted in this ball more than anything I have ever seen in my entire 16years of life” said Eddie

Everyone busted out with a fist of laugh

“Imagine how extreme she will be on your ball and coronation and your wedding” I said with a smirk

“God do not go there please. She will prob-…” Eddie was disturbed by my mobile phone ringing.

“Speak of the devil herself” I said pressing the answer button.

Before I even put the phone on the eye I heard her yelling at me

“SAMARA PEARL WHITE…!!! Where in the world are you? I told you to be back before lunch”

“Mother will you stop yelling please; we are just outside the palace gate. And it’s not even lunch time yet, we still got a good 45 minutes before lunch.”

“Don’t get smarty with me missy and get yourself in front of me right now”

I looked at Eddie beside me when I heard his giggles and just rolled my eyes.

“Yes mother, I am on my way.”

I hanged up the call and was about to ask Eddie what he wanted to say before the call, only to see that mom was calling again. Urggg what does she want now.

“Mom...-“ I didn’t even finish what I wanted to say.

“Who told you to hang up on me young lady?”

“No one mom, I just thought you were done talking so..-“

Again I didn’t finish my sentence and she just hanged up the call. I guess it is only logical that she hang up since she’s the one that called.

Steve pulls up at the front entrance of the palace and we slid out.

Immediately after having lunch with my mother, aunts and cousins, mom took me to my room so that I can start preparing for the evening.

“your boyish hours are up it is now time to became the princess you truly are meant to be.” She said while walking in my bedroom

 I honestly hate make up and playing dress up but that’s the deal I made with mom, to let me train with the warriors and in return I will endure her hours of tea parties and talks of makeup and dresses.

“Mom it is way too early to get ready, the ball start at seven, I am only left with 6 hours to go can I just have an hour to myself?” I tried my luck and asked her

“Samara no, you can’t get ready in 5hours you need all the time you can get and I gave you enough time to play whatever it is you always play…now it is my time” she said in I dare you to try my patience tone, the woman truly doesn’t agree with me being a warrior.

To her it’s against the rules and regulations of being a noble princess and a good wife.

“Uh-uh don’t forget we had a deal a long time ago that on this day you will stop your peer pressure stage and become a princess, now off you go…go and take a bubble bath and let the ladies pamper you.”

It took me forever to be ready but thank heavens I am done. I am wearing a silver grey applique beads mermaid dress I wore red 5inch ankle strap heels sandals, my hairstylist decided on a Dutch braid bun leaving few curly hairs felling on the side.

 While my makeup artist did the usual just the way I like it, natural makeup with less drama. I wore my silver black mask that has dazzling feathers.

All this time when they were busy I was having a moment to myself. I couldn’t help but have glimpse of the woman I always see on my dreams, she is always talking to baby me but I can never hear what she is saying in my dreams.

The first time she started appearing to me was on my tenth birthday morning, few hours after that I was in so much pain that I cried out until I heard bones cracking.

Looking at myself now I can say that I am a replica of her.

It was now time to walk out of my room since the guests has already gathered at the ballroom.

The announcer announced my entry and bangs his staff three times on the floor before the doors open for me.

The very first thing I noticed was the decoration rose gold and black with a touch of silver! I swear if I was a cry baby or an emotional wreck I would have cried the moment the doors opened, my mom and her team out did it, they played with my colours on this room and I LOVE IT!!!

I walked down until I reached the last three steps until Edward came and took my hand into his and walked with me till I reached to where our parents were standing.

“Mom you out did yourself tonight, I love everything about it and you.”

“Thank you sweetheart I am just glad that you love it.”

Theodore POV

It is finally the day of the masquerade and I am just getting irritated by my wolf hunter he has been clawing in me since the moment we landed on Wednesday night, every time I ask him what’s wrong he keep on saying I will see or prepare to be amazed.

Last night Ben contacted the Alphas of the two packs that are in United Kingdom to meet us here in my hotel room around noon.

He and I went to the hotel restaurant and I kept getting irritated by my wolf, he keeps on humming on my head. “Hunter I swear if you don’t stop humming or answering me in a riddle way I am going to shoot myself with silver”

“Shot me…shoot you…either way. And I don’t understand you human, when I zone out and not talking to you, you complain and when I make my presence known you still complain.” “What on the moon goddess name do you want from me?”

“Well for starter I want you to stop humming you old punk, your humming is giving me migraine!”

“Fine, I will stop and don’t ever call me i***t you weak ass!” he replied closing the link.

“Fighting with Hunter I see.”  Ben’s voice bought me back to reality

“Yah, he keeps on humming and giving me riddles.”

He let out a laugh shaking his head. “I ordered breakfast for you since you and your loverboy were having your everyday session”

“Thanks man!”

The waitress bought our breakfast shortly after that and we started heaving our food in silence. The moment we were done I paid the bill and walked towards the elevator.

“It seems the Alphas here also have issues with rouges…-“he was about to continue but I interrupted him.

“Are they attacking them or they doing the same thing they are doing back at home?”

“I don’t know yet, I guess we will hear they story around noon, I booked a conference room here so that we can have our meeting there.

…

“Alpha, our guests have arrived and there are waiting for us in the conference room”

 “Thank you Ben, I am on my way.” I took my blazer from my study chair and we walked out of my hotel suit.

Ben opened the conference room door for me and the men and lady inside immediately stood up and bowed to me. I nodded to them and Ben started introduce them to me.

“Alpha this is Alpha John of the new moon pack, his beta Vincent and this is the Alpha’s daughter Diana and her mate beta Vincent’s son Christian. I shook my hand with them. He moved toward the other two men. “And right here we have “Alpha Jakob of crescent moon and his beta Liam” I shook my hand with them and took a seat at the head table.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you all. And I apologies to summon you all here at this time; I just wanted to find out if there’s anything that I can assist both packs with while I am here.”

I said eyeing everyone in the room and decide to continue

“I understand that the kingdom has been having rouges gallivanting around lately.”

Took a deep breath and looked ahead.

“Your majesty, we do have them… but the problem is they are just not attacking it like they are spying on us or one could say that they’re looking for something from the packs. One of our allies managed to kill ten that were spotted near the city.” Jakob said

“Okay, I see… I will have to agree with you on the looking for something. Back at home we have been experiencing something similar, they never attack the kingdom. All they do is make their presence known at the boarders and leave.” I said looking at Jakob.

“Did this ally of yours happen to question them, maybe they said something that could help us all understand what they’re after or who is leading this rouge?”

I questioned looking at Jakob but instead of him answering, the Old man Alpha John answered.

“No, Alpha… we actual never met the hunters; we only meet with an associate. But from the way we have seen how the ‘midnight hunters’ work we all concluded that they kill before interrogating” the old man ended

“Midnight hunters?” I questioned

From the corner of my eye I can see Jakob shifting uncomfortable from his chair.

“Yes Alpha, the hunters have actually been around the kingdom for quiet few years now, I think for about 6 years now. And since then we never actually had any problem with rouges or vampires around the kingdom.”

“Interesting, so none of you have ever had any physical interact with those hunters?”

They all shook their heads as no, but my focus was on Jakob and I could see that he is hiding something.

“Do you think that we can have a meeting with the associate?” Ben question them

“He only shows up when needed not by our request.” Diana answered

I mindlinked Ben “Everyone in here seem to be on honest mode but expect for Jakob, do you think he knows more on what his letting on?”

“More especially about this ‘midnight hunters’ they’re talking about I noticed him changing on the mention of the name.” Ben answered

See this is why Ben is my Beta and Adviser, he pick up on things quickly.

The meeting ended after an hour, and I informed both Alphas that I will be visiting their packs before returning home. They stood up and bowed to me and I nodded and walked out of the conference room.

We are on our way to the palace and I must say this kingdom looks so peaceful and beautiful with the sun setting.

The driver pull up at the entrance of the palace and Ben hands me my Black gold mask and we slid of the limousine and walked up the stairs to the main double doors and gives one of the servants the invitation and the announcer at the stair case that lead to the ballroom looks at it and gave me a nod, he announce my arrival “King Theodore Knight of Slovakie kingdom”  

I walk in gracefully with Ben behind me and the moment I step foot on the ballroom the gross intoxicating perfumes smell hit my nose I frown and tune my poker face on and people started to greet me I can smell few wolves and other supernaturals but their smell is over powered with the fragrances humans torture us with.

Ben led me to where the Hosts are standing; I nodded to King James and bowed to Queen Amalia.

“King Theodore, thank you for coming.”

“Thank you for inviting me King James, it’s an honour to be here at your kingdom.” I said while they gave me a smile and nodded towards me

“Well we are honoured that you graced us with your presence too your majesty” Queen Amalia responded

I gave her a nodded and excused myself taking a glass of champagne from the waiter that was walking passes me. Hunter started another series of humming again and grinning. I just shook my head turn to look at Ben.

“This kingdom out did themselves for this ball don’t you think? I mean everything here scream a work that must have been done for months ago.” He said looking at me

“Mmh…mmh.. they truly went all out for it

 “Your majesty” I hear a familiar male voice greet me, I turn around to face him and I came in contact with Jakob.

“Your majesty this is my fiancé and mate Ava” I made a slight bow to the Luna and she made a curtsy “It’s an honour to meet you, your majesty.”

Ben decided to question Jakob, “Mr Corner, are you friends with the royal family?”

“Actually Mr Francis, I am a friend of the Princess.” He said moving his gaze towards the young man calling his name

“Jake and Ava theee couple of the month.”

“Hello Josh, I can see you made an effort to wear something appropriate tonight!” remarked the Luna

“Well I had to or the Queen was going to kick me out of here” the man answered.

Jakob cleared his throat and his luna and the man looked at him.

“Josh. Let me introduce to you King Knight of Slovakie”

The man gave me a nod. I looked at him and he doesn’t look intimidated at all. What is happening, right now???   

 I did what I do best and excused myself from them

The announcer banged his staff once and everyone kept he announced the entry of the princess “Princess Samara Pearl White of United Kingdom”

The moment the doors open I was hit by the most beguiling scent I have ever came across, it smelled like heaven on earth I tell you.

When I look towards the stairs I was met with the most beautiful goddess ever, and suddenly everything and everyone in the room seem to vanish it was just me and the goddess that was descending the stair case.

And out of nowhere Hunter screamed MATE….doing black flip in my head!
