"I, Ersa Ansian reject you, Ezra Ansian Alpha of the Moon Light Pack."

Ersa rejected her mate because it was the only way to set herself free and allow her mate to freely marry her younger sister, Deia.

Is that what she truly desires?

Chapter One
I’ve never felt like I was a part of the family like I was an Ansian just like my mother and my half-sister Deia. I suppose in a way I’m not like them, I’m different, an outcast, half-blood. I’m simply someone who stands on the outskirts and watches the world pass by. Someone who watches the smiles of a perfect family as they nurture and grow with each other. They were truly blessed the moment Deia was born, they refuse to tell us much about that time as it’s a tense subject for my family. Deia truly was gifted with beauty, grace, and for a longing to be loved just like how our father loves our mother. People have told us that their bond is the strongest because of their blood and the fact that they were destined to be together. I’m sure it’s true, but that doesn’t mean that I’m interested in finding my mate. “You didn’t have to tag along, you know,” Deia said from the back seat of the 2018 Honda Civic. “Sure, I do,” I said simply as I looked back at my younger sister with a smile. She was the picture of beauty as she had her shoulder-length hair gracefully pulled back into a loose high ponytail. Her hair was the colour of dark chocolate and was straight like our fathers. Her beautiful hair always seemed to catch the light at a perfect angle and glisten in the daylight. Her gray eyes were glittering with happiness as she smiled back at me, it was obvious that she couldn’t hold back her excitement and who would blame her. Deia was being sent to marry an Alpha from another territory, a man who was highly respected and who was equally strong. Our father was uncertain about sending her as he didn’t want to force her into something that she didn’t want but Deia insisted. All she ever wanted was to bring honour to our family name and revive her bloodline, a bloodline that almost ended with our mother. A special and ancient bloodline whose family members are the incarnations of the gods. Deia was special as she was the last of that bloodline, she alone could carry forth their legacy. “What do you think he's like?” Deia asked uncertainly. “I’m not sure,” I said after a moment. I wasn’t completely lying to my sister, not many people knew what her future husband was like. Their territory and their pack members have always been a secret, it’s even hidden away by magical wards. They were said to protect the alpha, but we weren’t sure if that was the real reason or not. I was sent here to ensure Deia's safety and to investigate their pack as we had little information on them. My parents had conflicts with the previous alpha, yet no one will speak about it around me. “I heard that he's incredibly attractive,” Eli finally said beside me. Eli had been Deia's protector her whole life, he was incredibly devoted to both my mother and father. He was also our beloved uncle, so he had a special place in our hearts. Our aunt Karen had always had him on a short leash and would always bark orders at him which we had always found amusing. Normally Male wolves don’t allow their woman to order them around especially so openly, yet he allowed Karen. It was as if he was trying to make up for something. Deia squealed giddily at Eli’s words as she was practically bouncing in the back seat. Ezra is lucky, I thought to myself as I thought about her new fiancé. Neither of them had found their mates yet which allowed them to get engaged. The marriage was to reinforce the peace treaty that has existed between our packs for the last seventeen years. This time it was a blood pact that would be permanent the moment Deia bore Ezra an heir. This marriage was important as it was discovered 17 years ago that Ezra is also an Ansian. He was the only son of our great uncle, Janus. “We’re here,” Eli said calmly. I looked over at him uncertainly as he pulled into a long road that seemed to lead nowhere. “Eli…?” I asked uncertainty. “Just wait,” Eli said. We drove for a mile down an empty road when something shimmering seemed to appear in front of us. I couldn’t help but stare at it in awe as the see-through shimmering light stretched for miles along with the dense forestry and roamed for miles in the sky. “You can see it can’t you?” Eli asked with a chuckle. “It’s beautiful!” I said excitedly. It was the boundary that separated Ezra's territory from the rest of the world. It was hidden from humans and only a select few could find the boundary, the boundary that we were about to enter. “What are you looking at?” Deia asked confused as she looked out her window. “The boundary!” I said awestruck as I pointed to it as it drew closer. “I don’t see anything!” Deia said with a pout. “If it makes you feel any better Deia, I can't see it either,” Eli said with a chuckle at my younger sisters’ annoyance. “Then how come I can see it?” I asked confused. “Maybe you’re just special,” Eli said sarcastically yet I could sense the worry behind his tone. He focused on the road ahead with a serious expression on his face as he got lost in his deep train of thought. We finally approached the barrier and passed through it with ease. It passed through our bodies and sent a jolt of electricity through mine, a sensation that left me momentarily breathless. I quickly looked behind me so I could see out the back window at the retreating barrier. It seemed to be shimmering excitedly now after our entrance. “Did you guys feel that?” I asked bewildered as butterflies scattered in my stomach. “Feel what?” Deia asked surprised. I looked surprised at her answer and looked over at Eli for a reply, but he just shrugged his shoulders. I turned around to face the front again and looked out my side window curiously. “Never mind… It’s nothing,” I said quietly.
