Chapter 15 - Training Part I

"Is that what you got, Chrys? Come on, let's try again." Mel said as she has the edge of her sword at Chrys' neck, while the gay is panting and sweating so hard. They have been sword fighting for almost an hour. She trains him to improve his skills and to teach him how to fight properly. Well, I can say that she's really great at it. The first time you can see her, you could say that she's fragile and vulnerable, but she's totally the opposite. And, she's so gorgeous. Damn, I guess I'm sick.

"Focus, Carreon. Eyes on the target!" Vida yelled and I turn my gaze back to the apple that is five meters away from me.

I have been trying to hit it with a bow and arrow for more than twenty times already. This is totally killing me. Chrys has an advantage since he knows how to use a sword. When could I train with the princess?

We have arrived yesterday exactly by sunset, and luckily, Vida Parros' house has three rooms. I ended up sharing a room with the princess. Hurray for me, but I sleep on the floor. Well, at least we share a room without the snoring elephant.

"Alright, let's take a rest for now. You're improving, Chrys. That's great!" The princess let out as she puts her sword to its casing.

Then, they walked in my direction and I returned my gaze immediately back to the stupid apple. I aimed for it and released the arrow. s**t, why is it so f*****g hard to hit? I have been doing this for almost the whole effin day.

I put the bow and arrow down disappointingly and went near to my target.

Then, I grabbed the apple and punished it by taking a big bite. Serves it good.

I heard a very beautiful laugh and I looked at where it came from. They have been laughing at me because I devoured my target. And, I just scratched my head out of frustration.

"What? It always dodges my attack. I guess it has a spell in it." I said while chewing the apple and walking back to them.

"You'll get better, Car. Don't worry, it's just the first day of your training." She said and gave me an encouraging smile.

As I reached near them, she got the apple from my hand and I was surprised by the next thing she did. She ate it. I looked at Chrys and he got a shocked expression too.

"Okay. There's the first time in everything. At least I tried." I uttered and she nodded while busy chewing my apple.

"Maybe tomorrow, I'll be training with you." She stated and handed back my apple to me. Well, that would be perfect. But honestly, I want her to be the one to train me.

We walked back to the house together and Vida is starting to cook dinner. Alright, tomorrow is a big day for me. I'm not excited, okay?

"So, Carreon Maddison, I heard that you've beaten Mito from the village of Tehori without using any weapons within just a short period. How did you do that?" Vida asked curiously as we are eating dinner.

This witch looked like Vina. Well, of course, they're twins.

"Well, umm... I actually didn't expect that I could beat him that fast since he's big and strong, but I got my ways. My dad taught me martial arts." I answered and Chrys fake-coughed. I know he has something to say.

"Hmm. For you to know, Vida and Princess Mel. She had beat the hell out of me before we got here in your time. And, she has been that violent ever since I knew her for more than ten years." He let out and he's really proud of that.

The two ladies are just nodding their heads in response and awe or something else.

"Hey, I am not that violent… It's just that... I'm doing what I think is right... And, you were an asshole for breaking my best friend's heart." I explained and took a bite of my bread.

"Mmhmm. Yeah, I almost forgot. Now, how did you make him pass out so quickly?" He said and asked while they are eager to hear my answer.

"I actually... Uh... Hit him at his private area so hard, and then, pressed some nerve on his neck that deoxygenated his brain. He's gonna wake up eventually." I explained and they got their mouths hung open.

"Yeah, he's gonna wake up with broken testicles," Chrys stated and I can't help but laugh at it.

"You should teach me how to do that martial arts some other time, Car." The princess let out and I felt some excitement in my system.

"That would be an honor, Your Highness," I said and she smiled her usual angelic smile. Damn it! She really has this weird effect on me.

"But you can't use it against a dragon. So, you still need to be trained to use weapons, though your skills and ability help a lot because you have a light and fast body." Vida explained, and yeah, we can't punch or kick a dragon.

"Sure. She won't get tired if the princess will be the one to train her to use one. Maybe she'll get better in no time. Isn't it right, Maddie?" Chrys said and I sent death glares to him. He's such a prick.

"Well, that's not a problem at all. We'll start early tomorrow, My Apprentice." Mel said and that sent shivers to my whole being. She called me 'MY apprentice'. I'm not having a gay panic attack, no, I'm just hyperventilating. Why is it so hot in here?

Then, my gaze turns to Chrys and he's giving me a double thumbs-up.

"Hey, good morning, Maddie! Why so early taking a shower?" Chrys greeted me as he waited outside the bathroom. Well, if you don't ask. Today is a big day for me. I'm just excited.

"So that I could impose the ladies' first policy. And, they don't have a shower." I said and pushed him out of my way.

I walked back to our room and the princess is looking out the window.

She turned her head at me and smiled. My day has just started and it is now complete. What am I saying?

"Gear up while I'll take a bath. We'll start with the basics of archery again, and this time, with me." She stated and picked out the clothes that she'll wear.

I hope the gay won't take too long in there.

"Okay. That's just fine with me. Basic is great." I muttered and put on my training clothes.

"Good morning, Your Highness! I did a quick bath so that you won't be late with your appointment today with Maddie." Chrys said as he opened the door of the bathroom for the princess.

I walked to the kitchen to look for something to do to help Vida preparing breakfast.

"Tell me, Carreon. Have you fully accepted the fact that you are a long time away from your present time?" Vida asked as she put in some meat on the boiling pot of water.

"Well, it's still really hard to believe, Vida, but I have no choice but to get along with it. I can force myself to believe in it. I just want to know if after all is done, can we go back to normal?" I told her and she keeps on nodding her head.

Then, I handed her the leafy vegetables that I have sliced.

"You can trust the witches that we will bring you back to your time. It's just that you need to fulfill what is in the prophecy." She answered and I get it now. They won't let us go back not unless we defeat the dragon that they are saying. I just hope it goes well and the prophecy is telling the truth. I don't want to die even before the time comes that I was born. Wait, that's a bit complicated.

"I still have no idea how to lead an army and I never really saw a dragon before, a real one. I don't know how to defeat it with just what we have and what we will learn." I stated and sighed. I am absolutely clueless. Maybe those soldiers are right. How can children like us kill a dragon?

"You need not worry about that. The princess is with you, and we'll teach you everything that you need to know. We just have to take it one step at a time." She said and sat on a chair near the fireplace.

"But if you have a well-trained body, an intelligent mind, a brave soul, and a soft heart, nothing is impossible, Car. I believe in you." Mel uttered as she showed up wearing her training clothes.

I am so damn touched by her statement. Damn, she never fails to make me believe in something and feel weird at the same time.

"Yeah, and an asshole side-kick. You can turn everything impossible into possible." Chrys butted in as he went near the table and grabbed a banana.

"Alright. Let's do this. Operation Kill a Dragon and Go Back Home." I said full of energy and Chrys cheered.

I looked at Mel and her smile suddenly disappeared. Don't tell me, she's sad by the fact that we'll go home after everything is done here? Well, I felt somewhat sad too.

"Let's have breakfast before you all go to training," Vida let out and removed the pot from the fire.
