Chapter 12 - Mel

"Since both of you are females, you will sleep on the bed and Chrysler will be on the floor. Don't worry, Chrys, I will make your bed." Vina said as we are done eating dinner and she's showing us our room.

Her house is small, but it has two bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

She really is a witch that is Tessa's sister and Wondi's daughter. Her hair is red and she looks like she's about forty years old. She's so nice, and she makes potions and witchcraft too.

"Okay, that's great! Thank you, Vina." Chrys let out, and it just came to my mind, I am sleeping with Mel on the bed.

Alright, I'm not panicking, I'm just anxious. No, no, she's just some other girl, and it would be just like sleeping with Kate on my bed. Yeah, that’s it. I just miss my best friend.

"Here are some clothes for all of you. You can take a bath in there." She uttered while handing us some clothes and pointing at a door. I guess that's the bathroom.

"And, Carreon, don't wet your wound." She added and I nodded my head.

She put something in it and it doesn't hurt anymore. I think she has powers that can heal.

"I'll go first," Chrys let out and brought with him the clothes that he chose.

"Hey, I thought ladies are first?" I asked and he stopped, then, looked back at us.

"Yeah, lady's first." He said while making gestures with his hand and emphasizing that he's a lady. It's still hard for me to believe that this heartbreaker is freaking gay.

"Heh, you wish." I scoffed and just went to the living room to sit there with Mel.

"Car, can I ask you something? Do you still have doubts about where you are now?" She asked me and I inhaled deeply.

I just don't know what to answer. If it was hard to believe that Chrys is gay, but he really is. Then, why not believe that we really are in the past?

"Well, if these are all true, I just wish that we could go back in our time immediately," I replied and she's just listening intently.

I think it would really make sense if I would see a real dragon. But that might be so scary. Well, at least it could provide evidence that we are really in the past.

"What does a dragon look like?" I asked her because I'm just curious. I wonder if it is the same as what we see in movies.

She sighed, and then, looked at me.

"They have big wings and tail. It can spit fire, they are fearless, strong, ruthless, and evil monsters. If you can see them, you would know that it will be your end. I just despise them so much because they are taking the people that you love and the one that takes care of you the most." She answered and she's crying now.

Damn it, I made her cry.

I moved closer to her and patted her back. I just hate seeing someone cry, especially girls.

"They took my mother and my brother's life. And, all I want to do is kill them all. Because... I don't want them to take another life. They have done too much damage in this kingdom for a long time." She said while sobbing. And, I can feel her pain. I lost someone special to me too.

She formed her hand into a ball and she's trying to keep herself from crying. s**t, I guess she is freaking serious about all of these and she has been telling the truth. We really might be in the past where dragons still exist.

"I'm sorry if I'm being too emotional." She apologized and wiped her tears.

"It's okay, Mel. Don't worry, we will find a way and we will do our best to defeat those dragons." I let out and she looked at me with her eyes full of hope.

"Thank you so much, Car. You will be our only hope. You don't know how much hope you will give to all of us who believe in you." She stated and I just smiled at her.

Now, it made me think. How will we defeat a dragon? If it's something like in the movies, all we have is a small chance. Maybe it depends if how strong are their weapons. It would be easy if they have bombs or cannons, but it's hundreds of years ago. I guess they only have spears, swords, and shields.

"Yeah. I certainly hope we will be able to defeat them." I uttered and somebody coughed behind us.

"Ahem. Can I talk to you, Your--- Melina?" Vina asked while Mel glared at her. I guess they're hiding something from us. I'll just figure it out some other time.

"Alright, I'll be right back, Car." She told me and stood up, then, followed Vina to the kitchen.

Melina looks like she's twenty or something younger. Her skin is so soft and she's just so vulnerable. And, I felt sorry for her mom and her brother. If those dragons are real, they should be stopped, and they have mentioned that the future is in our hands. Does that mean that that creature could wipe out everything? I really don't have any idea of how strong and big that monster is.

I waited for like twenty minutes, and finally, Chrys is done with his beauty bath. I wonder if what he was doing in there.

"You know what, Chrys, you take a bath longer than I do. Are you sleeping in there?" I asked him since I'm annoyed. Me myself, I take a bath for just like ten minutes or less.

"Well, they don't have soap or shampoo. And, the water is warm. And ooh, they have a bathtub in there that is perfect for lovemaking." He uttered and wiggled his thick eyebrows. Should I get rid of him now or just his eyebrows?

"Eew. You're such a perv." I said disgustingly. What was he thinking?

"Have you ever tried one, Maddie? If you haven't, well, what do you think about Mel? She looks so pretty. She has a perfect nose with pink kissable lips, seducing eyes, soft skin, oh, wavy blonde hair, and what more?" He stated and if looks could kill, he's already six feet under the cold hard ground.

"Alright, I'll stop." He said since he noticed that I'm not talking, and maybe he is thinking that I am plotting his death.

Well, he's not wrong. Mel is indeed a beautiful creature, no, she is stunning. Do I have a crush on her? Umm, I don't know. Maybe. Damn, I never felt this kind of weird feelings for someone before.

"Oh, you are done, Chrys? Car, you go in and take a bath first." Mel said as she showed up from the kitchen.

"No, you go first. I'll be fine." I declined and motioned her to go in first.

"No, you go first." She insisted and she's not stubborn, isn't she?

"Why don't you two take a bath together so that you can save water and time. And, you don't have to argue if who will go in first. Plus, you are both girls, so, there's no problem with that. Right, Maddie?" Chrys said while having a big grin plastered on his annoying face. And, he is doing a great job of starting to be a real pain in the ass.

I didn't say a thing but I cracked my knuckles while sending him death glares.

"Well, I… uh, umm, I will just go and check my bed. Have fun." He said while raising both hands, and then, ran to the bedroom.

He's such an asshole.

Then, I looked at Mel and she's smiling from ear to ear. What does she have in her mind right now?

"That is a good idea. There's nothing wrong with that, right?" She let out and my mouth dropped to the floor since I don't know what to say. Like, what the f**k?

"Well, I uh...umm. No, I mean, fine. I'll go first." I said and finally giving up. Damn these people in here.

I put in some water in the tub, and Chrys is right, the water is warm and they don't have soap or shampoo. But they have a body scrub, I guess that's the purpose of this squishy thing.

After ten minutes, I went out wearing the clothes that Vina gave me.

"Hey, it is your turn," I said to Mel who is sitting comfortably on a chair near the window.

She stood up and went to the bathroom.

Then, I just sat on the same chair that Mel sat on earlier. I looked outside the window and I can clearly see the sky. It's full of stars and there's no moon. I guess it's a new moon. This full moon is what they are saying that the last dragon will attack and destroy everything it sees, be it humans, animals, or plants.

While I am in my deep thoughts, someone called my name. It's Mel.

"Uh... Car... Can you please hand me those clothes? I forgot to bring them with me. Please?" She asked and I nodded my head.

She's just so cute while peeking at the door with her head is the only thing I can see. Wait, what? Cute? Pssh. It's an understatement.

I stood up and took the clothes that are on the sofa.

And now, I am in front of the door of the bathroom but she's not there anymore.

"Mel? Here it is. Are you there?" I called her and I can hear footsteps coming near.

Then, the door opened wider and revealing a breathtaking naked girl that made my jaw dropped to the floor as I stared at her perfect body.

I just am completely shocked. The last time I saw a naked person was a decade ago. It's Kate when we took a bath together back when we were still in fourth grade.

"Thank you, Car." She said and I handed her the clothes with shaking hands.

And, I turned around immediately and apologized. Why is it that it's just like nothing to her?

"I'm sorry. I gotta go." I managed to say and started walking away.

Damn it! I just took a bath but why do I feel so warm and sweaty?

"Hey, you okay, Maddie?" Chrys asked me as I sat on the bed without saying anything.

He is already lying comfortably on his bed. But damn, my mind can't erase the image I saw earlier. Geez! She's making me feel even more weird and uncomfortable.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I answered and went to the left side of the bed. s**t, we only have one blanket. Oh, f**k it! How can I sleep tonight?

"Really?" He asked and he's starting to annoy me again.

I'm about to say something when Mel came inside. She smiled warmly as she got the sight of me on the bed.

"Oh, Chrys is already asleep?" She whispered and I looked at him.

He's snoring like a pig and I know that he is absolutely faking it. I really want to kick his face twice right now.

"Yeah, I guess. So, what position are you comfortable on the bed?" I asked her and I heard Chrys is trying so hard to hold his laughter.

Was there something wrong with my question? I looked at Mel and she looked at me confusedly.

"Uh... I mean, do you sleep... Ummm. Are you… Uh... Comfortable sleeping on the right side or the left side of the bed?" I asked while stuttering like a piece of s**t.

Damn, why is it so hard for me to formulate a damn sentence? But I guess it sounds better now.

"You choose." She said and here we go again.

I just don't want to argue anymore because I'm afraid of where it will go this time.

"Alright, I'll be on the left," I stated and she nodded her head while smiling.

Then, she went to the right side of the bed and laid down.

"Good night, Car." She uttered and made herself comfortable with the blanket.

"Good night," I said and I hope that I can sleep well tonight.

I guess two hours have passed and my eyes are still open so wide. f**k, I can't sleep.

And, I can hear Chrys is snoring like a hungry crocodile, and Mel's right arm is around my waist. Damn, I can feel the warmth of her body and I can't move while my heart is beating so damn fast. I just wish I would still be alive by morning.
