Grace- POV
As I woke up, I noticed that the room had a different illumination. Judging by the sunlight, I realized that I had slept too long, around eight in the morning. Ugh, my head hurts when I look at my surroundings. I was blown away by the room, which was exquisite with a king-sized bed, luxurious interior and draperies, and an exceptional view of the skyline. I was unsure of where I was.
For a few minutes, I was in a state of confusion before I realized that I was in the apartment of Alpha Jacob. Before Alpha Jacob arrived at the packhouse, I was given the task of checking that everything was in order in this apartment.
"So you're awake," said a deep voice, startling me out of my reverie.
When I realized the voice was coming from Alpha Jacob, my eyes opened wide. Alpha Jacob had emerged from the shower. Observing the tattooed chest and water droplets dotting his body, I stood there transfixed by this man's well-carved form. When I looked at Alpha Jacob, I saw a smirk on his face as my heart beat faster. I tried to keep my gaze away from him to avoid feeling the temperature rise between us.
In a low, cautious voice, I inquired, "Alpha, what was the point of bringing me to your room? You should have asked one of the people in the pack to help me get to my apartment after I fainted." His eyes were fixed on mine as soon as I raised my head to look at him.
"I can't trust anyone around me, and leaving you with someone else is out of the question. So I took you to my room," Alpha Jacob retorted coldly. "The doctor examined you and determined that you had overworked yourself. As a result, you should rest and take medication."
"Thank you, Alpha Jacob, but I must state that Alpha Grayson is not my boyfriend," I sighed quietly. "I accepted your rejection because you despise me. I don't want to be a bother to you any longer." Alpha Jacob did not know that I had a second mate, Alpha Grayson. I could not tell him the truth. I was afraid that Alpha Jacob might kill my friends if confined to him.
"I don't believe you at all, Grace, and my decision is final. I won't accept your rejection," Alpha Jacob replied as he dressed in his room.
"Alpha Jacob, I don't understand what you're saying. I'm currently agreeing with what you want from me," I responded.
"I'm not sure whether I want to keep you or not," Alpha Jacob said.
"Alpha Jacob, I'm not an object, so why can't you decide whether you want me or not?" I retorted angrily.
Alpha Jacob's eyes met mine as he took a step closer to me, and I rose from the bed as he approached. He put his fingers under my chin and looked into my eyes for a few seconds. Will he kiss me? My heart began to pound. But Alpha Jacob took a step away from me and exited the room without saying anything.

When I returned to my room, Hailey and Rosie were already at work, so I took a pill and went to work as well. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any sleep. As I approached the kitchen, I noticed that breakfast had already been prepared.
"Were you there last night?" Hailey inquired.
"I'll tell you later," I told Hailey, "but first let me serve the food on the breakfast table."
Emily, the Beta's daughter, sat next to Alpha Jacob, her hands on his arm. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't shake the nagging feeling of jealousy that was creeping up on me. It seemed like even Alpha Jacob was ignoring my presence at this time.
"Alpha, The Shadow Pack Alpha Grayson has agreed to join us for breakfast so that we can discuss a pack matter after breakfast," Roger Beta replied.
My attention was drawn by the intense stare of Alpha Jacob, who seemed to be probing my thoughts and feelings. My arms were covered in goosebumps, and my energy changed when I realized why my body was reacting in this manner; it was Alpha Grayson making his way to the breakfast table. Alpha Jacob's gaze was fixed on me, so I tried to keep a composed expression on my face. The absence of Hailey and Rosie was because they were occupied with other matters.
Emily was oblivious to the whole thing, staring at me with contempt. Finally, Emily yelled at me, "What are you doing, slave? Get out!"
Emily flinched as she saw the Alphas glaring at her in rage, and the atmosphere filled with dominance. The Alphas' reactions astounded Beta and Omega. As I walked away from the scene, I bowed my head in resignation.
