Chapter 11

Red's Point of View

"What's wrong with him?" Dr. Emily turns to me. She looks bothered over something, beside her Claudia whose stare is fixed solely on Knight's unconscious body.

"I don't see anything wrong with him physically except for his muscle. They are slightly swollen." Dr. Emily said placing her stethoscope back.

"Swollen?" I repeated. "What could be the reason for that?"

"As a werewolf, a swollen muscle could only mean one thing. Restraint from shifting." Dr. Emily informed before she turns to Claudia and discusses something about Knight's condition while I'm left staring at him.

Restraint from shifting? How long has he been stopping his wolf from taking over? He looked fine to me like he's not having an internal battle against his wolf.

"We talked about his wolf yesterday, he said his wolf wasn't trying to take over like before. It wasn't aggressive than it usually is too. I wonder what could have triggered this." Claudia said staring at Knight tapping her index finger is on her chin, thinking. She suddenly turns her attention on me, her eyes squinted as she slowly walks to me.

"Uh," I look away but did not move. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask.

"You..."

I pointed myself. "What about me?"

"Could you be the reason for this?" EH?! "You're the last person with him, don't tell me you purposely let his wolf out because you're too curious?"

"What?!" I exclaimed unable to believe what she's saying.

"You were with him when this happened, what happened exactly?" She raises her eyebrows her eyes clearly hinting that she believes I'm the cause of this.

I'm just as clueless as she is!

"Claudia—"

"Shut up, Em. Knight will surely lock himself in that damned dungeon he calls home again!" She snapped glaring at Emily. She then turns to face me with the same glare she just threw Dr. Emily.

I almost shiver.

"You—"

"I'm sorry," I cut her off, she scoffs hearing that.

"Then it's true, this is your—"

"It's not. I don't know, was it my fault? I didn't do anything to him or anything to trigger his wolf. I'm sorry because you're blaming me over something I did not do. I'm sorry because you're blaming the wrong person."

She hissed and roll her eyes at me. I did not say anything else while she keeps giving me nasty glare, I choose not to argue with her especially in this situation.

"We should focus in figuring out why Knight's wolf is suddenly appearing and acting like that." Dr. Emily stated pulling Claudia away from me. The that she was pertaining to was how Knight acted with me, the... err, his sudden the moves of clinging unto me and he called me woman! It's not like I don't entirely like being a called a woman but he, his tone when he said that was...off. "and you, stop acting like that. Quit blaming her, you're acting—"

"Like a what? Brat? Pompous?" Claudia fired with a raised brows and she didn't miss to subtly throw me a glare. I internally cringe watching them argue.

"Kind of, but most importantly you're acting irrationally." Oooh. Dr. Emily doesn't even sound bothered by Claudia's tone when she answered her. She's obviously used to her attitude.

Claudia gasps. "You—" My eyes widen when Dr. Emily kissed Claudia, I think my eyes are not the only one that has widened, even Claudia's are as wide as saucers.

I blink. She kissed her on the lips. I immediately look at the ceiling the moment Dr. Emily pulled away from Claudia.

"Kyaaaaaah! Why are you kissing me out of nowhere!!!" Claudia yelled, I glance at them, Claudia's cheeks are tinted red while Dr. Emily is now busy reading something on her clipboard but there's a small smile playing on her lips.

"Em!!! Don't ignore me! Why is it a peck only? I prefer french—"

"Later," Dr. Emily turn to Claudia pinching her cheeks. "I'll do what you want but later, okay?" Dr. Emily's voice is soft; Claudia's face visibly soften hearing that. Gone is her nasty facial expression though she naturally has a beautiful fierce face, she's calm and flustered all of the sudden.

Dr. Emily suddenly turns to me so I was quick to look away. Did she catch me watching them? Damn, that would be embarrassing. I'm watching them being all lovey-dovey in silence. Ugh, why are they even acting so sweet suddenly? It caught me off freaking guard.

"Red, could you tell me what happened?" Dr. Emily asks. I nodded and tell what happened including the part where I willingly offer to accompany Knight in patrolling for Ava's sake, the situation he was in when I returned and when I pulled him away from the pack's mansion after his announcement. Heh, announcement. "Kissed? He was... kissed?" Dr. Emily repeated unsure. I know right? We have the same expression, even Claudia is completely shock over what is reported to them.

"That's odd. Who would kiss Knight? I don't think there'd be a member of the pack who would have such guts knowing what Knight's situation is." Claudia voiced. Well yeah I agree with her. Even I myself wouldn't think of kissing Knight despite how handsome and attractive he is.

Ehhh?!! Did I just... NO WAY!!!

I shake my head. I need to clear my thoughts. Yep, clean thoughts only.

Claudia looks at me. "Have you seen her face? Can you describe what she looks like?" I nod my head.

"Well she looks..." I recollect my thoughts from the encounter, I saw her face, I know that I did but... "I can't seem to recall what she looks like." I mumbled confusedly. What in the heavens? I know I saw her face but why can't I remember?

"What do you mean?" Claudia asks. I look at her and shake my head.

"I saw her, I'm certain that I did but somehow... I don't remember what her face looks like, she has a wavy golden blonde hair and she was wearing blue... dress? I'm not sure but her face... I don't know what her face really looks like!" I exclaimed in frustration. How in the world did I forgot about her face? I saw her but why-

"Wait, I think I know what happened." Claudia interjected, understanding written all over her face. She snapped her fingers and blew a loud breath. "Good thing you tell me that. You might be under some spell when that happened."

My forehead crease. "Spell? Me? How?"

She stares at me, straight in my eyes. "It's kind of an illusion spell that enables a person using it to hide their appearance and what they actually look like from other people when they wear that spell. In some cases, even if the user of the spell had a direct contact with another person, that person won't remember what she looks like." She then turns to Knight, "I think Knight could be under the effect of that spell too. It's futile to ask him."

Whoa, there are spell like that? That's great for spying and undercover stuffs, it's advantageous but I don't like that it was used on me, on us. Meh.

"Is there something that we can do in this situation?" Dr. Emily ask.

"We can do something but I'll have to prepare for the materials I will have to use to wear down the spell."

"How will you do that?" I ask.

Claudia raised her brows at me. "Because I'm a witch, duh!"

I forced a smile. "Of course I know that, what I meant was how. What will you do and what do you need so that I can help."

Her raised brow, fell; she looks at me weirdly from head to toe. "I need a phoenix feather, a fire dragon's scale, nymph's tear, wolf's— "

"Wait, hold up, where will we get those?" From the sound of those things, it's like we will have to conduct a treasure hunting of some sort. Feather of a phoenix? Scale of a fire dragon? Tear of a nymph? What the heck, where will we get those?

Claudia smirk, "in another realm."

"Huh?" Another realm? "Where— "

"That's enough Claudia, stop fooling around." Dr. Emily interrupted while shaking her head, she then glances at me and gave me an awkward smile. "Don't believe her Red, she won't need those stuffs and there is no such thing like going in another realm for those."

I blew a sigh of relief; I hate to admit that I actually fell for that trick. How would not I? She's a witch and I do not have any idea of the things she needs in order to dispel the magic effect of that illusion something spell.

"Oops, my bad, I thought it'll be fun watching her confused expression and all."

I sarcastically smiled at her. "I'm so honored being the source of your amusement even if it's just for a while."

She returned the sarcasm in my smile. "As you should." We roll our eyes against each other. Dr. Emily shakes her head looking at us, she pulled Claudia back on her side and walks towards the door.

"Call me if there's anything, Red." I nod and thanked her, they then left while Dr. Emily is quietly scolding Claudia like a child. I just smile and stare at Knight. Even if he's unconscious he's still good-looking as ever, the way he looks peaceful while sleeping makes him even more handsome. Gone is his signature cold and serious expression. My eyes wander to his pink lips, I gulp and looked away. I scratch my temple while looking at every corner of the room, they suddenly look interesting in my eyes. Unconsciously, my eyes found their way back to his face. Ugh, what the heck, being that good-looking should be a crime. Damn, how unfair.

I wonder what that woman felt when her lips touched his? I—

AHHHHH!!!

My eyes widen in realization; I look at my index finger that are now touching my lips. My face heated. I face-palmed and shake my head messing my hair in the process. Why in the world am I thinking about that?! Oh my moon goddess, how could I think that way while the man I'm fantasizing about is just right in front of me, UNCONSCIOUS!

Fantasizing???

"Red!"

"s**t!" I gasp looking back, Maggie's confused expression greeted me. "You scared me!" I complained.

"I did?" I nod my head breathing heavily. She grinned at me. "Sorry about that but that might be your fault, I was calling your name three times now since I entered but you're too occupied with your thoughts." I avoided her eyes that are eyeing me curiously. The curiosity in her eyes are burning. "What are you thinking, hm?"

I shake my head. "N-nothi— "

"And why are you looking solely at Knight?"

"WHAT?! I DID NOT!" I exclaimed in shock. Her eyebrows raised with a small smile playing on her lips. I cleared my throat. "I mean, where-where else would I look? He's the only person here, I'm... watching over him carefully. I'm just doing my job."

"Really huh." She looks at me from head to toe, her eyes shining mischievously. "For a moment there I thought you're— "

"I am not. I am not fantasizing over him while he's asleep, that's just so indecent." I cut her off. I look away from her, glanced at Knight and just stare at the wall. Maybe they should change it from white to grey? Maybe green?

Maggie chuckles. "I never said that." I did not look at her, my face burned in embarrassment. The heck, why am I in this situation? I should have shut up. "Could it be that you were really think about him?''

I snap my eyes at her, I jutted my chin. "So if I am? Am I not allowed to appreciate his handsomeness?" Mouth, shut yourself up damn it!!! "He's handsome and he looks peaceful asleep, I'm just being appreciative of moon goddess' creation served in front of me. There's nothing wrong with that, he," I look away from her, "he should be proud and thankful! At least I'm not harassing him while he's asleep!"

Oh moon goddess, my mouth is cursed!

"Oh my..." I didn't dare look at Maggie, I subtly hit my forehead muttering curses to myself. "How long have you been awake Knight?"

I choke on my own saliva, my heart started to beat erratically, my forehead and palms started sweating and my body stilled. Completely unable to move.

Damn it damn it damn it!!!!

I can't move. Should I look at him? Should I explain?

"...long enough to listen to Red's compliment."

Third Person's Point of View

"So this CLAW is an organization taking over of small packs in Lupus, their target is still unknown but based on the information we have, they are making armies of mad wolves." Alpha Maximus of Brook Howl Pack announced, other Alphas and the people present inside the meeting room are seriously reading the content of the folder handed over to them.

"This pale man, Vector, he's a vampire isn't he? Then what will her get from participating in this?" Alpha Lenz asks staring at the photo of the said man attached in the document along with some information of him. "We have established a treaty between supernatural, all the royal members of each race has agreed. It was a blood treaty, what they are doing is a complete rebellion on his clan."

All of them nodded except the only human with them, Bree. She looks completely bored but out of courtesy of the other people around she chooses not to say anything.

"That information was provided by the noble clan of vampires, the Velasquez. Apparently terrorizing packs is not the only thing this organization is planning, they are also moving even against the vampires especially the royals and noble ones." Alpha Maximus stated.

"I have a vampire business partner in Korea, they're handling the medical institution of the blood providers in that country, however, one of his man suddenly went missing, according to the investigation I conducted, there have been activities of killing vampires of high position. I thought it's only happening in Korea." Alpha Dominick looks at each of the Alphas present. "They go by the name Blood. It's safe to say that this CLAW organization even has small underlings. They leave blood splatter around the crime scene." He added.

"Speaking of that, CLAW organization is known for leaving three claw marks at every pack they take over and victims they kill." Alpha Camilla sigh, "creating an army of mad wolves by killing their mates and s*****y of werewolves and small pack, the question is what could they really be after?"

"I may have an idea what." All eyes turn to Alpha Nico. "You all know the recent attack on our pack, apparently, Knight have seen signs before the attack and was able to kill the only vampire present that night. You won't like what I'll say next and it might sound impossible but..." Alpha Nico glance at his mate and tsked, "it looked like they were planning on resurrecting the evil witches."

"...what?" Alpha Camilla mumbled. "Impossible, there's no such spell like reviving a dead person."

"At first I thought the same thing but when I saw the hideout of that group who attacked us, it came from Claudia too, she's a strong light witch, the magic circle used was soul calling."

Bree watched us anxiety crept over the faces of the Alphas upon the mention of the evil witches.

"Soul calling?" Alpha Lenz asks.

Alpha Nico nods his head. "Yes, they're calling the souls of the evil witches from their keep. Upon further investigation, Claudia came up with a conclusion that they'll use humans as vessels of those soul."

"Humans? As in... human like me?" Bree suddenly asks looking curious.

"Yeah, humans like you." Alpha Lenz answered smirking. "Ohh, what if you're one of the vessels of those vile witches?"

Bree cringe looking at Alpha Lenz. "Don't scare me, dumbface." She then glares at Alpha Dominick, "you, let switch places. This guy is creepy!" She complained. Alpha Dominick glared at Alpha Lenz while offering his seat to Bree, the other Alpha doesn't even look bothered, he looks amuse instead.

"We will update you the moment we learn additional information from Claudia, we are also investigating." All Alphas nod at what Alpha Nico said.

"Armies of mad wolves, resurrecting evil witches, wow, whoever is the leader of this organization must have a great plan for us." Alpha Lenz joked while smirking.

They continued on discussing everything that is to know about the organization terrorizing the werewolves, vampires and possibly humans and witches, planning strategies to defeat the said organization while defending their own packs, figuring out loopholes and people who could be behind the organization but they came up with none. The mastermind of the organization is still a mystery to them and the Alphas knows that it's their disadvantage.

"From the looks of the attacks, they first gather information about the pack, its leaders and possibly even the changes in patrols and werewolf on guard. Safe to say that they also have the capability to implant spies on our pack and that's what we should be cautious about." They all agreed with what Alpha Maximus said.

"Wait, I feel like we're missing something out of this. There seems to be something bigger that we just missed." Alpha Dominick voiced his uncertainty, he shakes his head trying to think of what they could possibly missed or wasn't able to discuss but none, every information written on the report, they were able to discuss it.

"It could be their intention, it's something we don't have a clear idea about. For now, let's work on strengthening the defense of our packs and aiding the small ones." Alpha Camilla stated.

All of them got lost in their trail of thoughts trying to figure out who could the man behind this organization and its purpose. The question is, are the packs ready to face the chaos to come the moment they find out what CLAW wants?

"Red this is Layla Waters, she's also a pack doctor here." Dr. Emily said introducing the black haired woman beside her wearing her lab coat and eyeglasses. I smile politely at her and she did the same.

"I'm Red." I introduced offering my hand, she accepted it with a sweet smile on her lips. Her skin is tan and her eyes are expressive hazel brown, she has a small nose, plump lips and high cheekbones. She's beautiful.

"Nice to meet you Red, I've heard a lot about you." Her voice is sweet when she said that, I look away embarrassed.

"I hope it's all good things."

She laughs and even her laughs sounds sweet and womanly. "They sure are." I chuckles at that.

"Now that you've known each other, I'll leave you two then." Dr. Emily said.

I turn to her shaking my head. "As much as I'd like to stay and chat, I have to help patrol the borders since Knight's out." I tell her, "I'll go first and it was nice meeting you, Layla!" I waved at their and left slightly wondering why I feel cold all of a sudden.

I... might have missed something. But what?

Rather than overthink I choose to shrug it off and focus on the task at hand. It's better to stay away from the infirmary, stay away from Knight for the mean time because what happened earlier is still embarrassing the heck out of me. Too much for trying to save myself from Maggie that time, I dug a deeper hole letting Knight hear all that. UGH!!!
