Family Ties: Amber Eyes series 2

Chapter Ten

May POV 

(This can't be happening!) I'm freaking out.  

I just finished my training with Jackson for today. Colton wasn't here because he had to go to an Alpha meeting with his dad.  

I'm walking to the packhouse and I just realized that I am two days late on my period. I run back to the room and start pacing.  

(Oh goddess! On my heat cycle, I forgot one day to take my pill. Was that all it took?) 

(s**t!! I can't be pregnant! not yet!) 

(What do I do!?) 

The door opens and Colton comes in. 

"Hey, baby! Done with training?" He asks walking in with a smile. 

I quickly try to act normal. "Hey, yep" I say and kiss him.  

"How was the meeting?" I ask him. 

"It was fine, I mean it was boring as hell but I tried to take it seriously since someday I'll be in charge of the whole pack. I have to start trying to do my best" He says lying on the bed. 

He holds up an arm to me, inviting me to join him in bed. I take it and cuddle him. 

"So, what do you want to do today?" He asks me. 

I think about it. 

"Could we go into town? We could go eat at Jacky's Diner and then walk around. We can go to some of the stores." I say thinking of my real plan.  

"Yea, we can do that." He says giving me a hug. 

We take a shower together which turns into a make-out session and like always, it leads to s*x.  

Once we are finish and both content, we get ready and head into town. 

We head inside Jacky's Diner and we see Jason and Brandon.  

"Hey, guys." Jason says. 

"Hey did you guys just ordered?" Colton asks. 

"Not yet, join us, we just got here too." Jason says. 

We sit with them and order. 

"So how did the date go?" I ask Jason wiggling my eyebrows. 

He laughs "It went good, you were right." He says with a smile. 

"He kissed her." Brandon says with a serious expression. 

My eyes go wide. "Already?" 

He gives a sheepish smile. "She asked for it." 

"What!" I say not believing him. 

"Liar." Brandon says. 

"I'm not lying!! She won and I asked her what she wanted as a reward and she said a kiss, so I kissed her." He says annoyed at Brandon. 

"Sammy asked you for a kiss?" Colton says not believing him either. 

I squint my eyes at Jason. 

"Well, she kind of was talking to herself... I overheard it and she panicked... I mean she still wanted me to, so I did." He says looking a little embarrassed. 

We all shake our heads.  

"By the way, I invited Sammy to movie night tonight if you want to come? You too, Brandon. Micah, Greg, and Matt will also be there." I say. 

"Yea I'll definitely be there." Jason says with a smile. 

"Yea I'll be there too." Brandon says. 

Our food comes and we start eating. 

"How is your training going?" Colton asks Brandon. "Your training with Jacob right?"

He nods. "It's going great, we've spent most of our time in the cabins at the training grounds." He says focusing on his food. 

"Man, Jacob, and Alia are amazing. The way they fight is like they can read each other's moves effortlessly." Jason says. 

"Yea, when I first got Lucien, they were the ones that trained me and I thought they were incredible." Colton says. 

Brandon Nods. "They've known each other since they were kids and when they got their wolves, they immediately were attracted to each other. They have fought as a team ever since." Brandon says with admiration in his voice. 

I know who they are talking about but I have never met them. I've only seen them in the claiming ceremonies and they look like those people that have their own different aura to them like they are untouchable and almost look superior. It's very intimidating but at the same time, you can't help but admire them.  

I think that's how Brandon is too. He used to be an asshole but now, I don't know. Maybe it's the training but he gives this feeling of safety. Like you are safe around him. Or maybe is that he's just so big that looks like he could take five rogues out by himself without a sweat. I don't know how to explain it, but he looks and feels different now. Or maybe it's just that he's not a d**k anymore, yea... could be that. 

(Whatever, I have more important things on my mind right now.) 

"Hey, I'm gonna go to the store next door so I'll be back." I say to Colton. 

"Oh, I'll go with you." He says trying to get up. 

"NO, stay here, is not like you get to see the guys that much right? I'll be right back." I say giving him a kiss and walking off before he can argue. 

I walk out and head to the store next door, a pharmacy. I walk through the isles feeling a little intimidated.  

'Which one am I supposed to get Hera?' 

'Why do you ask me, I don't know' She says, sounding annoyed. 

'Should I call Megan? I mean she has to know... but I don't want her to know about this either.' I say feeling a little defeated. 

 I take a pregnancy test box in my hand and read the back of it. "Remove the plastic cap... blah blah blah... pee on it and wait for seven to ten minutes... blah blah blah... if its two lines-" 

"What is that?" Colton asks from behind me. 

"COLTON!!" I yell and the box flies out of my hand and goes through the air. 

He starts laughing "Did I really just scared you!!" He keeps laughing. 

"The unscarable May just got scared, score one for me." He laughs but then stops when he sees my face. 

I know I am red of embarrassment because I just got caught but I really don't want him to know.  

(How is he going to react?) 

I quickly grab the box and grab a second one just to be sure. I turn around and head for the cash register with Colton behind me. 

"Hey what's wrong? I'm sorry baby I didn't mean to scare you." He says sounding apologetic. 

"Nothing's wrong babe, I just need some girl stuff." I say trying to sound normal. 

"Okay." He says. 

"And you did get me good." I say laughing awkwardly. "Did the guys leave?" I ask him trying to distract him while I pay for the things. 

"Yea they left, what do you want to do next." He says leaning on the counter smiling at me. 

I finish paying and grab my bag feeling relieved.  

"We could go for a walk around the park." I say with a smile. 

"Ok, let's do that." He says grabbing my hand and leading us through the sidewalk. 

Honestly, all I want to do is go home and pee on the stupid stick.  

'I hope we are with pup.' Hera says. 

'YOU ARE CRAZY! It's too soon. I want to finish high school first.' I yell at her annoyed. 

We see a little Ice cream cart in the middle of the park. 

"You want some ice cream?" Colton asks me. 

"Yea, chocolate please." 

We eat ice cream, walk around for a bit and then I suggest we head back home. I really want to get this over with. When we get in the house, Heather appears out of nowhere like a ninja. 

"There you guys are, come, I want you to try my new cake, I need guinea pigs." She grabs us and drags us to the kitchen. 

Colton grunts annoyed. 

"Why does it have to be us? Where's dad? Hiding?" He says whining. 

"Too busy, now stop complaining." She says sitting us on the counter stools. 

She brings us two different cakes. 

I take a bite "Omg this is so good." I love cake. 

"Yea it's really good." Colton says. 

Heather smiles "Ok now the next one." 

She hands us each a slice and its chocolate. 

"I am in heaven. Yep, chocolate is the best one out of both of them." I say to her. 

She smiles. 

"Of course, chocolate, it's her favorite." Colton says looking at me. 

Heather smiles. "Ok good... now tell me, who's pregnant?" 

*cough*cough*cough*cough* I almost choke on the cake. 

I look at her wide-eyed. 

She looks at me with a serious expression. "I can see the box through the bag, I know what that is." 

My face goes red. 

"What are you talking about?" Colton asks confused and still eating. 

Heather takes the box out of the bag and gives it to Colton. He reads the front of the box while taking a bite of his cake. 

*cough* cough*cough* Now he has a coughing fit and looks at me in shock. 

"What?" Colton whispers. 

"I..I... I'm just late that's all, it might be nothing." I say nervously. 

"Oh, ok, thanks kids for helping me with the cake, and tell me how that goes." Heather says pointing at the pregnancy test box without a care in the world and then just leaves. 

(This woman is the devil!) 

I look at Colton who is still in shock looking at me. 

I smile awkwardly, then I grab the bag and head upstairs with Colton follows me quietly. Once we are in our room, I take a deep breath. 

"When we were at the cabin, I forgot to take a pill on one of the days and now my period is two days late." I say turning around and looking at him. 

He nods calmly. "Okay." He says softly and sits on the bed. 

"Ok? you're not freaking out?" I ask. 

He sighs. "Yes, I'm a little freaked out but... even though we want to wait to have kids, if you are pregnant, that wouldn't be a bad thing." He says smiling at me. 

I sit on his lap and look at him. 

"I really, really don't want to be pregnant right now, but you are amazing and I love you so much." I say and kiss him. 

He smiles and then gets me off of him and s****s me. "Now go see if we have a mini-you on the way." 

I laugh and head to the bathroom. I follow the instructions and wait patiently for ten minutes cuddling with Colton. 

"I think it's already ten minutes babe." He says. 

I get up and bring both sticks for both of us to see and I hold my breath while we look at it. 

"What? What does this mean?" I say looking at the blank results. 

"I... I don't know." He says looking at the paper with instructions. 

"Call your mom." I tell him and he immediately does. 

When she gets here, I show her the results.  

"Yea sometimes this happens, results can be inconclusive. Best if we just go to the doctor, it's more accurate anyway." She says and I nod lost in thought and feeling worried. 

"I'll make an appointment for you tomorrow." She says and I nod again and then she leaves. 

"There's nothing we can do right now love, let's just wait till tomorrow." Colton says and I know he's right, I'm not going to let this bother me right now. 

We rest for a while until it's night and then we get ready for movie night. Everyone arrives and we head down to the theater room.  

"Wait... so you are ALL LIVING TOGETHER!! Micah yells. 

"Matt works for my father in... security and it only makes sense that he moved here." Colton says. 

I'm holding my breath. 

"... Yea because living two minutes away is a lot." Micah says sarcastically. 

"Makes no sense but... whatever." Greg says. 

"Wait... MAY! ARE YOU LIVING WITH COLTON THEN?!" Micah yells. 

I freeze. ".... Yea." I say almost in a whisper. 

Micah, Greg, and Sammy gasp. 

"BUT! I have my own room, right?" I say looking at Colton.  

"Yea." He says scratching his cheek. 

I see Jason silently laughing behind them. 

I know it's not the whole s*x thing that bothers them, cause Micah and Greg already know me and Colton have been together. But the living together and being so young, that's what alarms them. 

"Oh... okay." Micah says but squints his eyes at me. I smile awkwardly. 

"By the way, where is Megan?" Greg asks. 

"Knowing what we are probably going to watch, it won't be good for her or the baby, so she is resting." Matt says. 

Micah gasps. "NO! Not a horror movie please". 

"Silent Hill baby." I say with an evil smile. 

"What's that?" Brandon asks. 

Colton sighs. "You'll see." 

"Do you like horror movies?" I ask him. 

"Well, no, maybe? I really don't watch that much TV" He says. 

"Oh!" My eyes sparkle, I can't wait to see how he reacts. 

I go to Jason and whisper to him. "I suggest you sit next to her in the love seat." 

He gives me a smile and nods. 

The small theater room is like a small cinema, it has three rows of seats and in the middle of each row, it has love seats in between. 

We all sit with Greg, Micah, Sammy, and Jason in the first row and the second row has Brandon, Matt, me, and Colton. 

The movie starts and throughout the movie, I look at every one. Micah is almost sitting on Greg and has been screaming the whole time. Jason's face looks like he's in heaven with Sammy grabbing onto him, she's a screamer just like Micah. Matt is watching the movie and actually enjoying it. Colton is tense, jumpy, and bouncing his leg up and down. Brandon... 

"AAH! OH s**t!" Brandon yells. 

Brandon reacts by screaming and cursing. 

"NO! Don't do that!" Brandon yells to the actors. ".... WHAT THE f**k!!"

This is awesome, I'm definitely inviting him to more horror movie nights.  

Brandon gasps "WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!...........AAAAH!" 

This is the BEST!
