When they arrive at Rose's house, Keegan was asleep. They hadn't eaten dinner, but she wasn't willing to wake him to feed him. If he was hungry he'd probably pester her later, but that was okay.
“This is it?" he asked.
“Yes."
She wondered what he saw. It was a tiny place, but it worked for her and Keegan. It was also paid off. She held no debt other than a little on her credit card leftover from last Christmas. She was a responsible adult even if her parents didn't see her that way.

“Let me just get him then you can be on your way."
