Adrianna's P.O.V.
The smell of oil, the sound of a wrench turning, the sound of metal clanging against other metal and the music from my docking station are just some of the reasons why I not only love to do what I do but I live to do it.
Being a mechanic was never intended to be a part of my future plans but now I love that it is and that's because it's a fun hobby for me, it's also really stress relieving, not to mention it also helps me to take my mind off things, especially annoying things that I don't want to think about.
I'm currently working on an old Harley Davidson bike which my dad was planning on scrapping but I managed to convince him to let me keep it so that I can fix it up and hopefully restore it back to it's former glory.
My brothers Chase and Blake don't believe that I'll be able to do it because the bike is pretty beat up but I'm determined to prove them both wrong which is also something that I love to do.
"Hey, Pixie dust"
I look up and smile when I see my big brother Asher walking over to me.
"Hey Ash, I'd give you a hug but I don't wanna get you dirty"
"Oh never mind that, come here girl"
Asher says as he holds his arms out for me.
I didn't hesitate to run over to him and wrap my arms around his neck but just as my arms locked around him, Asher being the biggest shithead on the planet picked me up and started to swing me around really fast.
"Asher...Asher, put me down"
"Why? I thought you loved it when I did this, Pix"
"I do just put me down"
I said whilst still chuckling.
"Ok, fine"
Asher puts me down after one last big swing.
After catching my bearings, I look up at my big handsome brother and smile brightly at him.
Asher is a big, huge, muscular guy just like my dad and Hunter and he's covered from his head to his toes in tattoos, he's also got his nose pierced as well which I used to think looked really weird on men but now I think they suit it.
"You're looking good, Addy, California seems to have agreed with you"
"Thanks, brother"
"You're welcome, so tell me...how many boys do I have to chase off, hmm?"
He asks me and I chuckle.
"Asher"
"Don't Asher me, Adrianna, you're a beautiful girl and you've got the body of a woman"
"EWW!!, Ash, what the hell?"
I groaned in disgust.
"You shouldn't be looking at my body, Asher"
"Obviously, I'm not looking at it like that, Adrianna, besides, it's hard not to notice when my baby sister goes away looking like a normal, average teenage girl and she comes back looking like this"
He says while waving his hand up and down my body.
"It's called growing up, brother, you should try it"
I say whilst rolling my eyes and he fake laughs.
"Ha, you're so funny, Adrianna, now answer my question because I highly doubt all of the horny boys back in California ignored my beautiful little sister's presence"
"Even if they did notice me, Ash, it doesn't mean I noticed them"
"Really?"
"Yes, really, I was there to get an education, not to hang out with boys, Asher"
I said sounding annoyed.
"Oh...that's good, I just thought because you know"
He said and I rolled my eyes.
"You thought that because you boys spent most of your college experience p***y dipping it must mean us girls spend our entire time at college d**k hopping, right?"
"Hey, watch your language, princesa, I was just asking"
Asher growled at me.
"And I'm just saying, Ash"
I said as I walked over to get a rag to clean my hands.
"Where have you been anyway?"
I ask him a question that's been bugging me ever since I arrived back home and noticed the biggest goofball in our family wasn't here.
"Huh"
"If you can huh you can hear, Asher, now answer my question"
"Oh, I've been around, Pixie"
Asher said looking shifty.
"You weren't yesterday, in fact, you and Matteo weren't even on our territory to greet your baby sister back home after four long years"
I said with a slight growl in my voice and Asher looked at me with a guilty expression.
"Where were you guys?"
"We just had something important we had to do, Ad, that's all"
"Something more important than me?"
I asked him but he didn't answer me.
"You know what forget about it, I don't even care, it's none of my business anyway"
I throw the rag on the table and shut everything down before grabbing my phone and going to leave the garage.
I know I'm not the be-all and end-all in everyone's lives but I would've liked to have been greeted back home with all of my brother's here.
"Addy, wait up, I'm sorry"
"Like I said, Asher, forget about it, it's none of my business"
I shouted to him as I head into the clubhouse through the back entrance but I didn't miss the sound of my brother growling out the word f**k as he kicked something which I assume was a metal bin.
I ignored my brother's little tantrum as I headed upstairs to my room to have a shower and get changed.
I'm planning on going into town today to check in on a building I purchased recently which I'm hoping to turn into a garage which will be under the McCarthy/DiFranco business banner.
After having my shower and doing my hair and make-up, I got dressed and was about to leave my room when I got a mind link from my mom.
"Addy baby, where are you?"
"I'm in my room, why?"
"Can you come to my office, please? I need to talk to you about something"
"Mom, I was about to head into town"
"On your own?"
My mom asked sounding startled which I could tell she had tried to hide but failed miserably.
"Yes, mom"
My mom let out a sigh through our mind link but she didn't say anything more even though I could tell she was frustrated about me going out on my own.
I swear, if she could have it her way then I'd never leave this place unless I had sixteen warriors going out with me four for each side of me, then again if my dad had it his way then I'd never leave my room, period.
I remember he asked me once why can't you be like a normal teenager who stays locked up in their bedroom watching Netflix all day long?.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled at that memory.
"Please come to my office, honey, it won't take long"
Urgh!!.
"Ok, mom"
"Thanks, baby"
I gather my things and leave my room locking it up before heading towards my mom's office.
When I get there, I saw that she was all alone and she was standing behind her desk as she looked through some files.
"Hi, mom"
"Hey, baby, come and take a seat"
"What do you need me for, mom?"
I ask as I sit down in the chair in front of her desk.
"I wanted to talk to you about these, Ad"
My mom says as she throws down two files in front of me, one for the restaurant my dad owns and one for the nightclub my mom owns.
"What about them?"
"You wanted to run them, right?"
She said with a smile and I smiled back at her.
"You know I do"
"Well then now is your chance"
My mom says as she sits down in her chair.
"Your father is ready to hand over the restaurant to you Adrianna and I'm more than happy to do the same with the club"
"Are you sure? I know how much you both love running these places"
I said whilst looking through the files which feature all of the important information on both of my parent's businesses.
"Yeah we do but it's time for us to move on, sweetheart, your dad wants to focus more on warrior training and I want to focus more on the centre I set up, not to mention that neither of us are getting any younger, baby girl and we wanna spend more time together as well before we pass on"
"Don't talk like that, momma"
I said with a whimper.
I hate it when my mom and dad talk about them not being here with us one day.
I mean, I'm not an i***t and I know that it's going to happen eventually and it's something that none of us whether we're human or supernatural can get around but still, it doesn't mean that I want to talk about it or hear my parents talk about it.
"I'm sorry, baby, I didn't mean to upset you, I just wanted you to understand where I'm coming from"
"I do understand you, mom, it's just that I'd much rather hear you say you guys wanna retire so you can hump like rabbits all day long for the rest of your lives, I mean, that's not exactly music to my ears either but it's better than hearing you talk about you guys dying"
I say and my mom chuckles.
"I'll remember that for next time, my love"
Urgh!!, I hope not.
Actually, I hope neither of these things are brought up ever again.
