Memory - Fifteen Years Ago.
"Don't cry, Addy, sweetheart"
"But it broke"
I whine as I look around at the pile of Legos on the floor.
I was trying to build a big tower and it just fell down and broke on me after all of my hard work.
"We can always make a new one, it's not the end of the world"
"Yeah and then that one will break as well"
I growl as I cross my arms over my chest.
"Things break, Addy, that's life...now give me a smile"
I shook my head because I was too upset to smile but Javier was determined to make me smile which I refused to do every single time.
"Ok then, will you give me a smile if I make a promise to you?"
"What kind of promise?"
I ask him curiously as Javier grabbed hold of my little hand and held it in between both of his.
"If you give me a smile then I promise to build you your dream house when you're older, one that will never fall and break down"
"Like a big, white house with red shutters and red double doors, as well as a porch that has got one of those swinging egg chairs that my mommy likes on it and it's got a big, beautiful garden with loads of pretty flowers where I can shift into my wolf anytime I want to, oh and a big bedroom for me where I can play with my toys and read my books and it'll have a beautiful view of the woods and the ocean in the distance and outside in the front garden, there'll be a huge circle driveway with a water fountain in the middle of it that has got a howling wolf statue and the water will come out of the wolf's mouth"
I say with a chuckle as I imagine the wolf howling water and Javier smiles brightly at me, the way he always does when he's amused by me.
"If that's what you want, mi princesa then that's what I'll give you"
"Really?"
I ask excitedly while smiling at Javier who smiles back at me.
"I promise you, Addy and I never break my promises"
"YAAY!!, then I'll give you as many smiles as you want"
I cheered as I wrapped my arms around Javier and hugged him.
End Of memory.
Lies.
I'm starting to think that everything Javier ever said to me and every promise he ever made was nothing but a lie.
He was always making promises to me when I was growing up.
Promises from things like making sure I had a wardrobe filled with the latest designer clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery etc to having a garage filled with the latest model cars so that I could drive a new one every day and he always promised to build me my dream house where we'd live and build a family together.
Little does Javier know that I'm just a simple girl who likes simple things and if the rest of my days consisted of me just working out, working and having a couple of beers at the end of the night whilst spending the rest of my time with him then that's perfectly fine by me.
I don't want or need to live the boujee lifestyle because that's not me, I'm a biker girl through and through.
Anyway, like I said, I'm starting to come to terms with the fact that all of Javier's promises were fake and I'm ok with that now.
I wasn't ok with it years ago but I was a totally different girl back then.
We've all been there at sixteen or seventeen when we think we're madly in love with someone and when we look back years later, we turn into Madea and we're all like what was I thanking? why did I ever give that man the time of day?.
Unfortunately for me, my teenage dream was my mate and my best friend which makes all of this even more painful and heartbreaking.
I let out a sigh before finishing off my beer and throwing the bottle into the bin.
Tonight was a lot of fun and I honestly can't remember the last time I smiled or laughed so hard.
"It was good to see you relaxing and letting loose, Addy"
Crescent says and I smile.
"It felt good as well, Crescent"
I let out another sigh as I looked out at the beautiful view from my balcony before heading inside and closing the doors.
Tonight may have been fun but now it's over and it's time for me to go to bed and get some beauty sleep.
I quickly grab a fresh set of underwear and some pyjamas before heading into my en-suite bathroom to have a wash and get changed for bed.
I brushed and tied my long, black hair up into a ponytail, I then washed my make-up off my face and brushed my face.
As I was doing my nightly routine, I was looking at myself in the mirror and looking at how different I am compared to several years ago.
I've always had a curvy body, my boobs are a DD cup but they look bigger because of my small waist and my ass which has always been big and round, so much so that everyone who I went to school with always thought it was fake and even accused me of having a BBL done but I happily told them that my ass was built by me, myself and I in the gym, not by some doctor and his scalpel.
I've also got a nice glowing tan thanks to the gorgeous weather in both California and Miami which is where I used to visit every other weekend with my friends.
Over the years, I've got several piercings including my ears, the helix part of both my ears and one of my earlobes, both of my n*****s, my nose and my belly button.
I've also got around eleven tattoos and I'm always on the lookout for my next one.
The first tattoo I got was actually supposed to be my last but then I got a second one and before I knew it I was covered.
My first tattoo was a little one on my left wrist which says 'be happy' with a little heart, then I got a quote which says 'famiglia e per sempre' (family is forever) with three hearts in Italian colours on my right wrist, this is a homage to my Italian heritage.
On my right outer forearm, I've got a big red and black skull and roses tattoo, on my left bicep I've got a tattoo of a butterfly and a skull wearing a rosary beads cross necklace on it and behind my ear, I've got a crescent moon design which I got in homage to my wolf.
On my back going down my spine, I've got a floral tattoo with the word 'resilience' as the stem, in between my boobs, I've got a geometric design and on my lower stomach just above my bikini line and a few inches apart from each other I've got a crouching angel and she-devil in stripper shoes facing each other.
Finally, I've got a wolf design with a crescent moon on my right thigh, three small butterflies on my right ankle and a rose design on my left foot.
I think I've become addicted to getting tattoos which isn't really surprising considering most of my family are covered in tattoos.
I remember my great-grandfather used to say getting tattoos was like s*x, once you start you can't stop, so either we're all obsessed and or addicted to getting inked or we're all masochists which wouldn't be shocking either.
The Corleone/DiFranco/McCarthy family line is a crazy one filled with some crazy motherfuckers.
I mean, you only have to mention my grandpa Lethal or grandpa Beast's names to fully understand what I mean by that.
After getting ready for bed, I shut off the light in my bathroom and head back into my room, I then get into bed and just lay there for a few minutes thinking and wondering about where my life is going to go from here.
For the past four years, my main focus has been school and getting an education but now I've got nothing to focus on.
"Just take each day as it comes, Addy, don't think too much about it"
Crescent says while yawning.
"You're right, Crescent...as always"
I say with a smile as I close my eyes.
I then drift off to sleep hoping Javier doesn't make an appearance in my dreams but the chances of that happening are slim to none.
