Luckily for my sake, when he had said that he had meant that. I didn’t think that I would have been able to make it through much more of the evening without shaking some sense into him. I had been so exhausted that by the time that I turned around and closed my eyes, I instantly fell asleep. That was how exhausted my mind and body had been. After all of the torment that Marcel had put me through my keeping me awake, there couldn’t have been a better circumstance for me to fall asleep with. I doubted that any of it would have made me appreciate my sleep as much as I now did.
