Mia’s pov
The girls walked in shamelessly. “Chears!!!” They said smiling.
I could sense it was a mischievous smile. And how they laughed got me more angered and fierce.
“What do you guys want?” I didn't smile or laugh with them. I maintained a harsh facial gaze.
“My sister and I wanted to go out shopping. We were thinking of bringing you along.” They furrowed their gazes at me.
That was a surprise to me. I knew they would have a hideous plan. “And when did we start going out together? I am not interested.” I boned them.
The both of them laughed at me to scorn. “Why would you ever be interested in this kind of outing? You are just a piece of garbage that can't afford a dime.”
“We both know that if she follows us, she can't even afford the least clothes.”
Hearing those two degrade me, I got really angry.
“Get out of my room, you two. Before I do something drastic.”
Hearing those words come out of my lips, the sisters walked up to me. They wore this fierce gaze. I wondered what they were up to.
“And what will you do if we don't get out of your room?” One of the sisters dared me.
I raised my head and furrowed my gaze at them. “I respect Jullian a lot but you two have gone out of the line. I can do more than what you think.” I raised my voice at them.
And that only made them laugh at me to scorn. “Fool. Haven't you heard? Empty barrels make the loudest noise. If you want to show us that you can stand up for yourself. Why don't you agree to go out with us?”
“She can never agree to that. She is from the slum. How would she raise the money?”
Those words of mockery were enough. I stepped down from my bed and stood on my feet. My feet pressing hard against the ground. “I will go with you to any boutique of your choice. If I prove you wrong, what will you do?” I furrowed my gaze.
That only made them scoff. “I know you are just a bird without wings. If you can afford the least of the things in the boutique, I will bow before you and apologize for humiliating you. But if you can't, you will have to apologize. Is that a deal?”
Hearing that, my heart melted. ‘What if they take me to a boutique I can't really afford anything? I need to outsmart these bitches.’ I became silent.
When they saw the gesture on my face and fear that was written boldly on it. One of them spoke up. “Hmph! Are you afraid already? Would you give up and just lick our feet then?” Those words were harsh and cruel. It only supplied the needed energy for me to brace up.
“Lick your feet my foot! I would rather die than do such a humiliating thing.”
“You call that humiliation?! Hell, no! You are already humiliated when you choose to come to this world poor. You are a misfit and a disgrace to yourself. Don't you see how unfortunate you are?”
Those words hurt me so badly that I raised my hand to slap the one that spoke those cruel words. Only for my hand to be held by the other.
“What are you trying to do? Wanting to slap my sister already?! You are not trying such a thing.” She threw my hands back to where they belonged.
I felt a sting of anger in my heart. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist.
“Why don't you channel this anger in this outing?” “Dress up and let's go.”
Those words left their lips. I watched them with anger all over my face. When they left, I breathed out heavily.
I can't allow these two fools to humiliate me just like that. I had to do the needful. I picked up the card handed over to me by Jullian earlier. I slipped it into my pocket after I was fully dressed. ‘This should save my face.’ I thought in my head.
I stormed out of my room elegantly dressed. The two sisters dressed in their best also. We ventured out into the car.
“Have you ever sat down in a car as luxurious as this in your life?” One of the sisters asked me. She furrowed her gaze throughout my body.
I breathed out and shot a deadly glare at her. “What do you mean by that?”
“No hard feelings. Is just a question. Are you feeling hurt by that already?”
“She can't be that petty. We haven't humiliated her yet. Save your anger for the later. My sister and I can't wait to mock you.”
That only made me laugh out my anger. “Both of you are hilarious.” “Dream on.” Those were my words.
And one of the sisters stroked my hair. “Acting all tough. I love your kind of person.”
She removed her hand from my hair and then faced her sister. “It's kinda going to be fun today. Don't you think so?”
That made her laugh. “It's fun already. There is a clown in this car and I can't just wait for her to make a fool of herself.”
Hearing the both of them speak with pride hiked me. I can't wait to prove them wrong even if it wasn't with my money. Thank the creator that they never made mention of using my money to buy the things in particular.
It is going to be a shock to them by the time I outsmart them. ‘Fools, thinking that I am a fool. Let us see who loses at the end.’ I thought in my head. Being full of myself. Today would be quite fun-filled.
The driver drove and stopped at a boutique. But then, one of Jillian’s sisters spoke up.
“Are you that dump? Didn't you hear what we have been talking about? Take us to the most expensive boutique.”
Hearing those words from them, I realized they really wanted to mock me.
