shopping spree = new me

today me and te are going shopping. I wake up early. like stupid early, the clock says 4:26 I sigh frustrated since last night I went to bed at around 12 because me and Tricia were talking about so much stuff. rolling over I try to fall back asleep. nope not happening I sit back up and turn the TV on and flip through the different apps and channels I end up putting on Chicago medical on Netflix. after two hours I get up and put on some tight ripped jeans a white crop top and a leather jacket that used to be my dads. by 8:30 I go down to the kitchen to get some food. I start opening cupboards and drawers looking for what I need "Missy what on earth are you doing?" I jump startled, I didn't realise there was anyone in here. "sorry to scare you child, but what were you looking for to eat?" she says looking me up and down "can I have a Berry smoothie?" I'd usually skip breakfast but what the heck now, why not. "of course, do you know what exactly you want in it?" I walk back to the bench and sit on a stool while Val opens the fridge "how about spinach, raspberries, strawberries, coconut water and whatever else you think would be good" I just picked out a few things from the fridge that I think looks good. I watch as Val gets out all the stuff along with oats and chia seeds, then she blends it all up together and puts it in a tall glass with a straw and a spoon "I'm going to go help the cleaners with the laundry. enjoy your food" Val leaves the room and i sit there by myself until I've finished my smoothie. "heyyy" I hear Te before I see her. she's wearing a casual white dress with a small black belt and heels. "so, I was thinking we could start by picking out decorations for your room, then we'll pick out clothes and then we'll get our hair done and buy some make-up and whatnot. how does that sound" she picks up a carton of blueberries and starts eating them. "I think thats a good idea" she looks at what I'm wearing "ohhh a leather jacket, that looks really cute on you" wow I can't remember the last time I was complemented without being cat called or sexualisied. "thanks" I feel myself blush as I look down at my feet. "okay are you ready to go?" she asks grabbing some keys from a hook in the door of the pantry. "we're going in my car" she says wiggling her eyebrows. "so we don't have to get in a completely black car with grumpy men driving?" I joke "that's exactly right, Gus always insists on having them around but going shopping should be fine without them, plus we won't need anyone to carry our bags because I'm having everything delivered" dam it's crazy how rich these people are. the car we get in is a white and pink convertible.

after a quick drive we park and walk into a mall. fortunately most people haven't figured out who Te is yet and a few people are whispering but mustn't be sure if it's really her or not. firstly we walk into a furniture shop. "okay so what's the vibe we're going for, all I know is that you like art" she says as we start to walk around. "I like pastel colours, fluffy fabrics and I like mythical creatures but I wouldn't want my room to look like a five year olds princess dream" I laugh at the thought of having my room decorated like a five year olds fairy land fantasy.

after going through the whole shop I've picked out lots of cushions for my couch and bed, in pastel blues, yellows, pinks and purples. I've gotten a fake fur rug that white to go on the dark hardwood floor and salt lamps to put around my room. I also picked out a few different doona sets in different colours and patterns. I also have picked out some plants to put in my bathroom and on my balcony outside my bedroom window. "okay now onto clothes, where do you like to get clothes from?" I usually just get what I'm given or go to Kmart. "uh I don't really go shopping often, what places do you go to?" she points across the mall to a Gucci shop "this one's my favourite" once again off we go.

by lunch time I've gone to a lot of different shops and have gotten a lot of clothes, purses and shoes and even jewellery.

"that dress made of red silk that you picked out is so beautiful" Te says as we sit down to eat our lunch, Thai this time instead of Japanese. "yeah um thank you for everything" I say quietly. "oh honey thank you for doing this with me, it's been so much fun but the next bit is going to be better. do you know what you want to do with your hair? wanna try something different, you could go blonde or coloured, braids or maybe a new style of hair cut? have you experimented with your hair before?" I look at her hair and realise for the first time she's not a natural red head, she has blonde roots. "umm I don't think i have had a haircut since I was 9" I reach up and touch my dark brown straight hair that reaches down to my butt. "well nows the time to try something new, if you want" she says smiling and looking at my long hair. "I think I want to colour it, do you think it would be too bold to color my whole head?" she shakes her head and claps her hands "ohh yes but what colour?" I think about it for a while, I think maybe blue, purple or pink. "what if I got it multiple colours" Te keeps listening "what if I get stripes of blues purples and pinks all over my head?" her eyes Widen "oh my God that would look amazing and such a great idea!" she jumps up "come on we can get more food later now that this ideas here we should do now!" she smiles as she picks up her purse and I get up to follow her. we walk tp the other end of the mall to a very high end looking salon. we get in straight away with no wait. "okay what can I do for you today sis" a young man asks "I was thinking about getting my whole head coloured in different shades of blue, pink, and purple and a small trim so my hair will be cut down to my elbows. "gurrl I think that would look bomb on you!" he says smiling

two hours later Te's few centimetres of regrowth have been died to match the rest of her hair and my hair has got heaps of different shades of purples, blues and pinks. we've also picked out some make up aswell.

by the time we get home everything had already been delivered. Te got hired help to move all the stuff. after the few pieces of furniture had been moved they left and me and Te place everything where we want it. now that we are done I notice it's dark outside and we're both tired. "so are you ready for school tomorrow?" Te says concerned as we sit down for dinner, again with out Gus. "um i guess I'm nervous but I'll be fine." tonight we're having burrito bowls for dinner. "so I was thinking until you get your licence your going to have to be taken to school and tomorrow I'm working and will be working most early mornings, so there will be a driver each day to take you to school, but you can always pick which car. I'm sorry I won't be able to take you on your first day." she's really nice "it's fine really, don't worry about it."

that night we talk until around 10 and then deicde to go to bed. "sleep well" she says as I walk off to my room "you too" I say
