Chapter 9As the time came to go to the cinema approached, Joshua’s levels of anticipation rose sharply. Not because of the film, but getting to spend time with Blair as—potentially—something more than just a friend.
Apart from being embarrassed he’d fallen asleep the previous evening, Blair hadn’t shown any worries about being so close to Joshua, or waking to find Joshua’s arm around him. Hoping he wasn’t jumping ahead too far too soon, Joshua really wanted to take things another couple of steps farther.
At the Chinese café they each plated up a different selection from the smorgasbord so they could try as many different foods as possible. Joshua’s hopefulness rose another few notches as they laughed their way through the meal, Blair appearing—and acting—more relaxed than Joshua had seen
