Lake’s POV I was helping my father schedule our best warriors for patrol. I leaned over the side of Dad’s desk to look at what he was writing. “I’m a better warrior than them,” I said when he added to the list of our best warriors. “You’re a better warrior than half this list sweetie,” he said with a chuckle and added another name. I wasn’t on the list at all but my older brother Will was. I smiled in reaction to him agreeing with me. “Then let me patrol.” “You’re still so young Lake.
