Lake’s POV
Harper left before I could ask her if she loved me. I kept telling myself that she didn’t need to say it because she showed it. I could see it in her eyes, her gentle touch, and her actions. That somewhat worked but I wanted to hear it. If she did love me shouldn’t it be easy to say? Shouldn’t she want to?
When my father came back he sniffed the air then shifted back into his human form. He was beyond upset and it showed in his scrunched brows and stance. “Are you okay?” He growled. “What happened?”
“Oh um, Alpha Harper thought you were still here and was looking for you. Or it seemed like she was looking for you,” I explained, trying not to stumble over my words. “She was in her wolf form and she ran around me then ran off. She wasn’t really worried about me.”
