Alias sat in the kitchen, smiling at me. "What did you want, brother?" I asked him. "Just wanted to talk to you. However, you were very... Busy." I walked into the kitchen and sat down beside my brother. "You could've called." "And miss barging into your house like you did mines back then. I could never..." "What do you want?" He smiled wider as he could sense my agitation. "Just out of curiosity, why won't you leave her alone?" He asked me as he got up from the chair and threw his hands in his pocket. "You know I used to f**k her right?" "I know you did. She's not messing with you now, so why does it matter?" Alias chuckled. "There are plenty of women out there and your ass wants to go after my leftovers." "Well, you sure helped your leftovers today." "I did it because I was forced to. Besides, that's why I came to talk to you." i didn't say anything. My brother was full of unfazed surprises. I leaned back in the chair and waited for him to tell me the bullshit he wanted me to know about. "I don't want Natalie and Jesslyn hanging out with one another, anymore." Alias admitted. "Why?" I asked him. "One day, the two of them are going to be sister-in-laws. Why are you doing this now?" "It's weird for her to be hanging out with the woman I'm f*****g and have a child with." "Dude, Natalie isn't like that." I got up from my seat that time as I faced him. "Natalie isn't doing anything wrong and that's f*****g foul, Alias." "What's foul? The fact that my brother went after my ex?" "Dude, she's not even yours! She's with me and you can't look past that, huh?" Alias just stared at me with a raised eyebrow. "Ayden, one thing I would never do to you is go after someone you messed with. It's disgusting and it's not right. Now, I don't care what you do, but if you want us to establish a good relationship, I suggest you get rid of her." I shook my head at him. Hell no. I was not about to stop f*****g with Natalie. I really liked her. Hell, I was even in love with her, so why would I get rid of the person I had feelings for. "Sorry, brother, but I'm not doing that." I told him. "You're just going to have to start dealing with seeing me and her together." Alias sighed before he walked off. I turned and watched as he walked to the front door, then he opened it up. "Don't come to my house anymore." He told me, then stepped out, slamming the door behind him. I just stood there. We were just getting along and now, it was back to what we were before. Back to the rivalry, something I was trying not to deal with anymore. Shaking my head, I had left the kitchen and went back to my room. *** "Hello?" Mother answered the phone. "You sound busy." I told her. "Never baby. What's going on?" I sighed as I headed over to the couch to take a seat. "I don't know, ma. It's just I try my hardest with... Everything. It never goes the way I want it to." "Is this about Alias or that girl?" "Both." "Let's start with your brother, first. What happened with him?" "Alias wants me to leave Natalie alone. He basically said he doesn't want Natalie and Jesslyn hanging out because it's weird to see his wife and his ex hanging out like best friends." "Hm. I can actually understand that, honey." I squinted my eyes when she said that. "Your brother having to see her over at his house, hanging out with his wife, knowing that they had something together before him and Jesslyn did. It's actually an awkward situation." "Mom, I love this girl. If I tell her that she can't hangout with Jesslyn, it'll hurt her. Besides, Jesslyn accepted her already. Why can't he?" "Why did you go after her? Was it because you couldn't have Jesslyn and you thought that you could just go after Natalie because she was single?" "No, that's not it." "Ayden, I know when you're lying." "Mother, I'm serious. I have genuine feelings for this girl." "Okay. If you say so." Sighing, I decided to get off the phone. We said our goodbyes and I hung up, tossing the phone on the side. Then, I decided to grab the remote off the table beside me and turn the TV on. There wasn't anything that I was in the mood to watch since I had the whole Alias and Natalie thing stuck in my f*****g head. I hated how my brother was acting and the fact that mother agreed with it, it made everything worse. Sighing, I turned the TV off and got up from the couch. Just as I was going to head upstairs to lay down, another knock came on my door. "What?" I asked. "It's me." Adonis told me. Turning back around, I went to the door, then answered it. Adonis stood there with a wine bottle filled with blood and two glasses. "What is this, a date?" I asked him. Adonis raised an eyebrow at me and I cracked a smile. "Stupid." He called me as he walked into the house. I shut the door behind him and the both of us walked into the kitchen. "Why are you in this lonely ass house?" He questioned as we both sat at the table. "Natalie just left." I told him. Adonis nodded his head as he poured us some blood. "Can I ask you something?" I asked him. "Sure." He told me. "What do you think about me being with Natalie?" Adonis stayed quiet. He pushed my glass over to me before taking his own. "Adonis?" "What?" "Bro!" "Look, if you like her then I don't care. I would not be going after my own brother's leftovers, though." I stared at him for the longest time, then I pushed the glass cup back to him. "You can drink that by yourself, bro." I got up from the table and pointed. "You can hit the door as well." "Ayden, don't do that. You asked me and I told you." I leaned against the wall and glared at him. "You're not the only one." I told him. "Alias doesn't want Natalie and Jesslyn hanging out, anymore." "You don't think it's weird?" I shook my head. "I didn't care about it. As long as his feelings for her were done, it shouldn't have mattered, right?" "It's weird, bro. Your brother f*****g the same girl you f****d before him. It makes people uncomfortable." "Then, I won't be around you guys, then. I'm in love with her." Adonis shrugged his shoulders. "Like I said, if you love her, then I don't care. Just don't come to me if she breaks your heart because of her continuous feelings of Alias. Remember, Alias was her first." I didn't know that at all. Finding out Alias was Natalie's first bothered me more than him asking me to keep her away. "Now, let's drink." Adonis held my glass up. Sighing, I pushed off the wall and walked back over to the table, snatching the glass from him. Then, I took a seat and shared a drink with my cousin. At least that was normal, right?
