Ch-34 (Going to War)

“Aahana, Aarav, please don’t go. You don’t have any powers and even if you had one you won’t know how to defeat an orc.”; Eleanor tried to convince them both.

Aarav smiled at her worried self.

“We have powers and believe me, we might have not seen ugly ass orcs, but we have seen the ugliness of the world. We will be fine.”; Aarav spoke up. Aahana did not know why Aarav was so adamant about going to the war. Her only guess is that he wants to relieve them from the favours they have done to them.

If they are successful in rescuing the Archduke and his son, she and her brother can leave their house with no debt. Aahana looked at Aarav who was speaking with Eleanor, trying to convince her to let them go.

“We will go and that is final.”; Aahana spoke up, making everyone quiet down. She did not realise that her voice was as cold as ice. Even Aarav was surprised to hear it. He has only seen his sister speaking like this when they were on a mission.

“Please talk to your King to let us go. We are more than capable to bring your husband and son back to you alive.”; Aahana continued.

“Aahana.”; Eleanor tried to reason with her again when Aahana cut her off again.

“Of course, only if you want them back alive. Seeing how the royal knights that went with Archduke could not do s**t. The people King is sending won’t be any different; making Archduke’s and your eldest son’s death inevitable.”; Aahana spoke up.

“AAHANA!!”; Aarav shouted at her. She was speaking rudely to the Archduchess. He gave her a look, but she couldn’t care less. She has had enough. She does not want to stay in the room with Michael and seeing his face for half an hour straight is giving her headache.

“I could send you both to battlefield.”

A voice came from behind Aahana, making her turn around. Her eyes widened when she saw the same man she met when she was in the market.

“Imperial Crown Prince”; Eleanor greeted him by bowing her head down.

“It is okay, Archduchess. Please let go of formality for now.”; Ezekiel said. He did not give her permission to let go of formalities, but seeing that she is emotionally exhausted, he let her go.

“How are you young Earl”; Ezekiel asked Michael.

“I am fine, Your Majesty. It is an honour to see you here.”; Michael said. Ezekiel just waved his hand as if this was nothing.

“So, what do you say Miss Aahana?”; Ezekiel asked. Aahana narrowed her eyes at him. He smiled at her, taking in her doubt about him.

“I am sorry about my niece and nephew, Your Majesty. They have.”; Eleanor started.

“Have lost their memories. So, I have heard. I heard your conversation and seeing that they wish to go to the battlefield is great. Asiaur kingdom can use as much soldiers as they can.”; Ezekiel said.

“They are naïve, Your Majesty. They can’t make such decision right now.”; Michael said. Ezekiel smiled at him and looked at Aahana with questioning eyes. While Aahana was looking at him with suspicion. She cannot use her power right now, but damn, does she want to look inside this mongrel’s head?

“If you can let us, go to the battlefield, it will be great.”; Aarav spoke up making Aahana look at her brother. He gave her a look of confusion before looking at Ezekiel.

Ezekiel smiled at Aarav, noticing how he did not use any honorific title when talking to him.

“I surely can do that. If that is your decision. Get ready with your clothes and weapons. You will leave in few hours.”; Ezekiel said. He looked at Eleanor, who was about to object. He turned around and walked away before she could utter a word. Now, even Eleanor could not stop them from going to the battlefield. Now, that Imperial Crown Prince has given the command; Aahana and Aarav have to go to the battlefield.

Eleanor looked horrified as she sat down and covered her face with hands; not knowing what to do. Her husband and eldest son are already in danger now, even her daughter is going on the same battlefield.

“We don’t plan on dying and neither do we plan only letting Archduke and your eldest son die.”; Aahana said, making Eleanor look up at her. She does not know why but she could feel Eleanor’s worry about them so, she assured her. Without another word, Aahana walked out of the room, followed by Aarav.

Just as they got out of the room, a butler and a maid came in front of her.

“Please follow us, we will give you armour and battle clothes.”; They said, making Aahana and Aarav follow them. Aarav looked at Aahana’s resting b***h face. He wants to know what happening to her? Why did she just burst out on Eleanor? But right now, is not a great time. They need to get this over with. He only wished they had guns.

It took them an hour before they were ready. Ezekiel met them outside the room, smiling.

“Follow me, I will let the King know.”; Ezekiel said. They walked to the King’s study as Ezekiel and they both entered the room.

“Your Majesty.”; William and Augustus got up and bowed down to Ezekiel.

“Be at ease.”; Ezekiel commanded. William looked up at him and then behind him. While Augustus' attention was solely on the siblings, not knowing what they were doing here, especially in an armour.

“I see, Augustus is also going to the war.”; Ezekiel said, making Augustus nod at him.

“I have a request to make, take these two with you.”; Ezekiel said, making William look at him in confusion while Augustus was shocked.

“Your Majesty, they are Archduke’s niece and nephew.”; Augustus said as Ezekiel nodded.

“Of course, I know.”; Ezekiel answered.

“They want to go and help their uncle. I don’t see anything bad in that.”; He continued.

“But, Your Majesty, they have no memories. They won’t be able to help in war.”; Augustus said.

“Then leave them to die.” Ezekiel said making William and Augustus shock. They both looked at siblings, who just looked bored out of their mind.

“You are taking them with you and that is final.”; Ezekiel said as he turned around and saw Aahana and Aarav. He smiled seeing how they did not even care that he suggested to let them die. It was as if they have listened to it so many times. As he thought this pair of siblings are not normal.

“All the best”; Ezekiel said as he walked out of the room. This is so fun, he would like to see how they tackle everything.
