Ch-18 (You have not changed)

Eugene bowed down in front of a curtain. He kept on bowing down, as there was no command for him to get up. He gritted his teeth, but could do nothing. He kept looking at the floor while cursing the Pope in his head. Why the hell is he not telling him (Eugene) to get up. “You can get up.”; a gruff voice came out from behind of the curtains. Eugene stood up straight and looked at the curtain. He expected the Pope to come out and look at him. Last time he saw Pope, he was really old, with wrinkles all over his face and had arched back. “Do you know what I have called you here for?”; The same gruff voice asked the question. “Yes, Your Grace. It is because of Goddess power. But I assure you I have nothing to do with it.”; Eugene answered. The Pope clapped from behind the curtain as all other bishops and priests inside the room left, closing the door behind them. “No, I did not call you here for that, Eugene. I know you did a spell, you found in the library of the first archbishop.” The gruff voice changed to a smoother and manly one. Eugene’s eyes widened as he looked at the curtain. “But I have to say I did not think that the purpose you became an Archbishop was to summon someone.”; The Pope said in the changed voice. “You knew I have an ulterior motive so, why?”; Eugene asked. Pope chuckled as the curtain opened. His eyes widened when he saw a man in his twenty walking out of the curtain. He had grey hair and sliver pupilless eye. “Because, you were the best option I had left. Churches are getting corrupted even though you had some ulterior motives, you still abolished significant amount of corruption from the church.”; Pope answered. “Who are you?”; Eugene questioned as he took a step back. “No need to be worried. I am the same old Pope, no what was it you thought I was Ah! ANCIENT POPE.”; He chuckled, making Eugene’s eyes narrowed. “You are not here to be harmed, son.”; Pope said, seeing the guard appearance of Eugene. “Son? You look as old as me.”; Eugene retorted. “I may look, but I am thousands of years old. I can change appearance because I have power to do so. But I am the same ancient Pope.”; Pope answered. “I called you here because of what you have triggered and why are you feeling terrible after calling Aahana and her brother Aarav?”; Pope said, making Eugene’s eyes widened. He cannot let their identity be leaked. What if people try to use Aahana? “Don’t worry, I will tell no one about their existence. But I cannot help if people figure it out on their own.”; Pope said, as if he read his mind. “What do you want?”; Eugene questioned. “Nothing, I want absolutely nothing, son. I am here to just warn you. You an archbishop, one of my own. So, I called you here to warn you, son.”; Pope said. He looked at Eugene’s face and nodded, seeing that the boy was finally paying attention to him. “Aahana left this world on her own choice, but it was a wish granted by the Goddess herself. Calling her here has you not only offended the Goddess but also fate.”; Pope said, making Eugene frown. “Why did the Goddess do not make us remember everything before in our other lifetimes?”; Eugene said. He wanted to say that why did the Goddess gave every pain to Aahana, but it is not true. It is because they are idiots did, they torture her. “Because of fate, son. Destiny, as one says.” Pope said. Eugene scoffed at the sentence. “Isn’t Goddess the one who write the destiny?”; Eugene said. Pope smiled, but too much of Eugene’s surprise. He shook his head. “Destiny is not controlled by any of the Goddess or God. It is much superior to them. Aahana was to be born in other world and that could only have been done if she wishes for it.”; Pope said. “How do you know that?”; Eugene asked, not believing any s**t he was saying. “Now that you have challenged Goddess and even Destiny, they will interfere. And when destiny interferes, outcome is never good. The events or things you remember the past will not be repeated, Eugene. If you think you can be one step forward than you are wrong because the timeline has completely changed. You have made everyone in this world walk on a completely distinct path to which outcome is not known to anyone. And it could be good or bad.”; Pope said. Eugene gulped as he looked at the Pope. “I had to call her.”; Eugene tried to explain himself unknown to himself. He does not know why he tried. “No, Eugene, you knew fully that you are challenging, goddess. Whatever happens from now on will happen because of you and the Griffith family. I just hope it goes well.”; Pope said. He walked to the curtains before Eugene spoke up. “Can’t you do something?”; He asked. Pope knows many things, there has to be a way to make everything good and Pope can be the only who knows that. “I can’t, son. Everyone has to bear the consequence of their actions alone.” Pope said; as the curtains closed. “But… but”; Eugene tried to say something. “You have not changed from your past self, Eugene. Maybe the answer lies there.”; Pope answered as his voice changed back to gruff before the doors suddenly opened and everyone who went out came back. “Escort archbishop to his wagon. He will go back this instant.”; Pope said. Eugene frowned, but said nothing as he walked out of the room. “Kids, huh mother?”; Pope murmured as the sky rumbled. ………………………………………………………………………………… William and Agatha stood in front of the gate to welcome the Imperial Crown Prince Ezekiel Kai Vasiliev. The carriage stopped as Lewis got out first before Ezekiel and place down the stool. A man of about six feet and three inches came down out of the carriage but his giant like height was not something King and Queen of Asiaur noticed first, it was his crimson hair and baby blue eyes. “Greeting Your Highness.”; Ezekiel greeted them first, making the pair flustered. They did not know that Imperial Crown Prince would be so handsome. “Greetings, Your Majesty. It is an honour to have you in our kingdom. Please come inside, you must be tired from such a long journey.”; William said. He knows why Ezekiel is here, he is not stupid. But there is nothing he can do about it. Hopefully everything resolves itself. . . . Kez looked at his Crown Prince of kingdom Gloria Rowan Milo Richter. They walked away from the carriage undetected, according to them. Rowan had only one thing in his mind, to see the power of a Goddess from his own eyes. He walked away with Kez thinking of himself as a smart man.
