Ch-25 ( ORCS)

Eugene looked at the statue of the Goddess. “You have not changed” These words kept on echoing in his ears. He does not know why, but these words disturb him. He did not call Aahana here because of his selfish wishes. If that were the case, he would have kept her here in the church. But he let her go with the Griffith family. He is not the same Eugene; he would never hurt Aahana. He would protect her at all costs. He sat down in front of the statue, staring at it. Did he really challenge the Goddess? He sighed; he never thought that visiting Pope would actually make him so disturbed. He worried now; will he actually harm her because of the Destiny? Will everything go back to the way it was before? Will she suffer again because of them? He combed his hair back and closed his eyes. Aahana’s doe like hair came into his mind. It still had some light; it was not like the previous life times where her eyes have lost the shine. He has to meet with the Archduke to talk about everything. He cannot risk Aahana’s life again. If she is actually at any kind of risk, he will find a way to send her back. He will let no harm come to her. …………………………………………….. “What the hell?”; Anderson murmured when he looked at the paper in front of him. “WHAT THE HELL!!? HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN? ARE OUR KNIGHTS SO UNDERTRAINED!!?”; Samuel shouted at the captain. “What exactly happened, Floyd?”; Anderson asked the captain. “Orcs attacked us out of nowhere. They were in large numbers.”; Floyd answered. “How many were there that or trop of five thousand could not stop them.”; Anderson asked. “Around triple our numbers. It was as if they were planning this attack.”; Floyd answered. Michael, who was listening silently, frowned. “How many are dead?”; Michael questioned. “Around three thousand, hundreds are crippled or are battling for their life right now.”; Floyd informed. “Orcs do not have brains to actually plan the attack. Orcs have never been our source of concern.”; Michael said. “You mean someone planned it.”; Samuel asked; making his brother nod. “Who and Why?”; Samuel asked. “Don’t know, all I know is that Orcs do not have brain to plan an attack.”; Michael answered. “Send more troops around the area but this time give them guns as well.”; Anderson ordered. Guns are a luxury; troops of eminent power are sanctioned guns. Guns and its bullets are not mass produced. And only Floyd has water power which is weak and none of this troop has power here. “Michael will come with you all.”; Anderson added. Michael is the brain, only he can actually get a grasp of what is happening. Because if someone is actually controlling Orcs, that will be bad for fief and entire kingdom. Floyd nodded and walked out of the room. Samuel and Michael looked at Anderson with confused eyes. “Nothing like this happened in a previous lifetime, so, what is exactly happening?”; Samuel questioned. “I don’t know. Try to gather information. I have to write to Eugene and Royal Palace to explain the situation of Orcs in my fief.”; Anderson informed. He does not what he would King say. Such type of problem never occurred in his fief ever. “Samuel, handle the finance instead of military. I will handle it personally.”; Anderson ordered to his son, who nodded in return. “See, if your sister is back. They are sure taking their sweet time outside.” Anderson huffed as his sons went out of the door. Just as they went out, his forehead creased in worry. He was so sure about himself because he remembered all his three lives. But such things have not happened in any of his lives. Did bringing Aahana again change the course, but that cannot be true. She was with him for all three lives. If something had to change, it should have been when she is not here. He looked at the black rose outside the window. No, no matter what happens, he will not lose his family ever again. He turned around and looked at the paper again, which contained the names of the knights died, expense of the destroyed city and how many injured citizens were there. He sighed and combed his hair back. He was writing a military tactic, but stopped midway. She is not coming to this kingdom, right? Anderson thought, but soon shook his head. No, it is not time. But he stopped again when he remembered that even the Orcs incident have not happened. This means they actually do not know about what is going to happen anymore. ……………………………………………….. Ezekiel frowned as he looked at the report about Orc’s attack. He cannot believe he was in the same fief a few minutes ago. He knows nothing would happen in the market but he is well aware of how Archduke takes care about the safety of his fief. The fief is surrounded by deep forest. And each of its borders is guarded by well-trained knights. To kill three thousand knights is astonishing, but what is more astonishing is that Archduke did not have any information about such a huge gathering of orcs around his fief. It could mean two things, first he is getting old and second, Orcs are getting smarter. The first option seems more plausible because orcs are known brainless creatures. Ezekiel stopped these thought as he shook his head. There is a third option, someone is controlling Orcs. Yet the first option seemed more plausible because Orcs are not really easy to get close to. You come near them and they will eat you alive. But he cannot doubt and think that this has to do something with the Goddess power. Everyone sensed it. Does Orcs want it too? And if that is true that means that Goddess power is within the fief. This could be a reason. Yet he has to find it, he does not feel any out of the ordinary power except of the girl who has strong mana core, even so, she did not have power. Ezekiel sighed. Seems like he has to get involved a little.
