Chapter 6: Rude Girl

1053 Words
Jen dropped me off at home and I stared at the front door feeling so exhausted already and I haven't even listened to Natalia yet. Unlocking the door, I headed inside and heard the loud squeal "Cousin!" Natalia said running over and faking being friendly. Mom smiled and I smiled back, "Awe it's been too long." I said watching Natalia nod, "It has." She said sighing. I watched Mom take a photo of us before going to the kitchen to take a phone call. Natalia stepped away and cringed, "You still a b***h?" She asked lookin me over bored. Looking her over, I shrugged "Are you still stupid? My bitchiness is only a response to idiocy." I stated watching her roll her eyes. This girls a pain in my ass.  Dinner consisted of a lot of faking and pretending to love one another while mom beamed about how exciting this was. It wasn't. Pulling on a pair of leggings and a camisole with a sweater over it and some thick socks, I slipped into bed with the fear that last night was more than just a dream. The butterflies around me wounded up through my hair and fluttered up and over my head. A laugh came out from my lips and I chased them following them to a cliff where I stood at the edge and felt the breeze. My body shook a bit and then I was covered in metal armor. What the? An overwhelming coldness struck over my body, I practically jumped awake and felt the ice cold water engulf me, pulling me down into the water deeper. Swim Imanie! Swim! Pushing up, I began swimming and broke through the water hurrying out of the lake in fear of whatever creatures live in this damn thing. Running out the lake, I cringed a few times before looking myself over for any stowaway creatures and felt relief there was none. I've seen people fish in this lake, there's huge fish and water moccasins, there's even some creepy looking fish. I walked through the grass pushing my hair back and screaming as my hand ran over a thing of plant. Tossing it I ran from the lake and pulled my sweater off ringing it out as I tried to figure out how far home was. Going through the park, I stopped and noticed Rhett on the same park bench again. He looked up at me confused and I tried to avoid looking at him. He'll just think I'm an i***t who wanders around stupidly at night for fun.  EVERETTS POV: Putting the book down, I watched her in amusement as she walked-more like stomped through the grass soaking wet. Her long brown hair was clinging to her back and her n*****s hard pushing through the shirt. She had an amazing body for such a rude girl. I watched her and then smirked before she said "I don't want to deal with you tonight." And pulled her wet sweater back on. She smelt bad, like fish and moldy water. "You have a habit of smelling horribly." I commented watching her scowl at me, "Don't you have some minds to go read?" She snapped. Minds to go read? Didn't think she believed that rumor. She scowled and stared ahead at the street, her thoughts of wanting a ride but being too prideful came to mind but I wasn't about to let her know I knew that. I grinned, "Try not to step in dog s**t on your way home." I commented opening the book back up. Imanie stared back at me and then the book, "Can you drive?" She asked crossing her arms over her chest while her teeth chattered from her freezing. I gave a nod, "Need a ride?" I asked trying not to show the fact I desperately wanted to touch her again. That night at the party, when I touched her all the voices just shut off. It was like she was a temporary off switch to the voices. Maybe I'll finally get some sleep if I be her friend, I think I'll have to start over entirely. Come to think of it, I've made a horrible first impression. She gave a small nod, "I don't need to get sick before the car wash." She said low and I stood shutting the book and gesturing for her to follow. I watched her shiver as she stared ahead at my car, "You have a nice car." She said surprised. Did she think I was poor? Unlocking it, I got in with her and turned the heater on, "It was my dads but he gave it to me before he passed away. Birthday gift that I never got to enjoy with him." I said not realizing I admitted something I've tried so hard to hide. She apologized and buckled her seat belt while placing her hands in front of the heaters. I reached back and grabbed one of my jackets out plopping it into her lap and pulling out. She pulled her sweater off and pulled the jacket on, "I'll wash it and return it tomorrow." She said making me feel like damn that's a first. I used to give girls my jackets and they'd steal them if they could. It's weird, I used to be the hottest, greatest guy who could get any girl I wanted. Usually the hot blondes with the d**k sucking lips and sexy blue eyes. Never in my mind would I imagine I'd give my jacket to a petite brunette with big brown doe eyes. I dated girls who looked like cheetahs, big cats, wild and untamed, and she was...well she was like a little deer. She gave me directions to her house and I pulled up watching her go to leave. An hour won't hurt her, will it? "Hey, Angel?" I asked watching her stare back at me with a small scowl. Yeah, an hour would hurt her. I put on a small smirk, "Don't forgot your piss water smelling sweater." I said holding the sweater off the car floor and handing it to her. She took it and gave me a look over, "It's lake water, not piss water." She said before going to her front door. Damn. I was so close to a good nights sleep.
