A War Coming

383 Words
As I looked around the woods, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. I knew that something like this might happen. Humans have always been threatened by the presence of immortals in their territory, and I was no exception. The next time the humans step foot into these woods, they will pay dearly. I'm just waiting for them to arrive and in the meantime, I will keep training. Despite the passing of several days, I remained vigilant and kept a close watch on the entrance of the dense woods. Time seemed to crawl by at a snail's pace, but after what felt like an eternity, the humans I had been waiting for finally arrived. It took more than a week for them to show up, but the sight of their arrival filled me with a sense of relief and excitement. It's now time for me to strike. I stood there, silently observing the group of humans as they walked deeper into the woods. I didn't make a move right away. Instead, I waited patiently, calculating the perfect moment to strike. I needed to make sure they were far enough away from any help, and that there were no other potential threats nearby. As they walked further and further away, I knew my opportunity was approaching. I readied myself, muscles tensed, and waited for the perfect moment to attack. As the sun was at its highest, it didn't cause as much light within the woods. The surroundings became darker and more ominous as the human moved forward. The rustling of leaves could be heard in the distance, and the sound of footsteps grew louder. Even though there seemed to be more human figures in the area than before, it didn't make any difference to me. I stood there, waiting patiently in the shadows of the trees, watching as they drew nearer. The anticipation was palpable, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I prepared for whatever was about to happen. When the humans were right where I wanted them and jumped from my hiding place catching them all off guard. Landing in one of their carriages I attacked the man stirring the horses biting him on his neck. I made quick moves attacking one human after the next.
