She waited for him as he walked up to her apartment and invited him in. “What’s wrong? I heard it in your voice.” “Chris broke up with me.” She brought him in, made a strong rum and coke, and asked, “Okay. You were going to break up with her. It all works out, right?” “Yeah.” He stared at the drink and turned it in his hands. “Yeah.” “Dino, what’s going on with you?” “I truly don’t know. I feel sad at losing her?” She sat next to him on the couch, took his drink, and helped him sip some and put it on the coffee table. Then she took his head and held it to her chest.
